Very useful practice disciplines explained. I have done all these things, but admit to being very inconsistent in application. The stress of having to make a performance for an audience sharpens one's resolve. Fortunately, I am retired and only need play for my own enjoyment, now so I just sight read a lot of stuff for fun. Nearly every video you do is a masters class.

Amelie! I loved this video! This is one of my favourite concerti for any instrument and I've tried to sight read this on flute before myself. I'm an amateur but it's a huge relief to see that my struggle is quite similar compared to yours for this part at least.
I've played another instrument in the orchestra for this concerto performance before (Nicola Benedetti on Violin) and it was nowhere near as fast as your accompaniment, so you did really well. I think it would be really fun if you tried out flute arrangements (this challenge or in general) of sonatas and concerti designed for other instruments.
But you did well, so you deserve plenty tea and time off anyway! If you're doing the whole concerto, from personal experience I have to suggest you pray before the cadenza. It is a horror on flute haha!

    • @flutechannel

@@flutechannel as a violinist I've always struggled with the toxic and not always practical idea to play any concerto faster than usual. The triplets part is obviously rushed but hey violinist are well-known for rushing everything. I think this concerto has a very lovely line that needs more time to really sings and express the melodic lines.
Besides that you did a great job. Btw where i can find this flute version of the concerto???
