This is a live recording of a tune I wrote for the Teenage Engineering PO-32 Pocket Operator and and Korg Monotron Delay. The Monotron is just being used as an effects processor, to add extra dirt, drive, filtering, and delay. The sounds played on the PO-32 where created by me with Sonic Charge's Microtonic drum synth. The dawless jam was recorded with my phone and a Zoom H6 on location at Nun Cove, Newquay, Cornwall - though anyone familiar with Newquay may notice a few shots from other local beaches too.

Yeah, after watching this I kinda regret investing in Volcas and feel like I could do a lot more with the same amount of money if it went into Pocket Operators instead. I guess Volcas have the advantage of MIDI (except the Modular), but Pocket Oprators clearly have superior sequencers with the effects alone.
Also wishing my Monotron Delay's input and output ports didn't start breaking only months after buying it new :/ Thankfully it's super cheap, haha

Written in a studio, converted to PO for POsterity infa 💯 not bad at all, but as a FM synth there's nothing much that would differentiate it from Caustic on my mobile ... or even a guitar as far as the melody goes

There's no keyboard I'm afraid. I have two ways of writing melodies on the 32, one way is to use the pitch dial, tuning to the note you want and sequencing it in. The other way is with Microtonic, where I make copies of a sound at different pitches and copy them all to the device separately.

I LOVE this song, it's really amazing. You're really squeezing the most of out the equipment. I'd really like to know which camera you're using, could you tell us? :)

Wow, thank you for your kind comment Don. :) To answer your question I'm just using my phone camera, which is a Samsung Galaxy S6. I would like to invest in a proper camera soon, but I'm still struggling to decide which one at the moment.

It looks great on your S6! You've really inspired me to make the most of my Tonic. I don't know why I hadn't realized it's actually a 4 voice monosynth, cheers for the great job again
