We have been left with so little originality to have so many fan games that are horror? I feel like it reminds me of other games that pretend to be official ports and out of nowhere it gets very "scary"
As I said in a comment of my own here, horror =/= unoriginality, though I can see why you’d be irritated due to horror’s overexposure and bowlerdization in the mainstream. Regardless, horror fangames can be just as great as non-horror fangames. Now I will agree with you that there is definitely a “follow the leader” problem with a lot of these, relying on being surprise horror when at this point it isn’t a surprise, and most of these do go the same way, very formulaic, but that isn’t just because they’re horror, it’s just because the people behind it themselves would rather tread old ground.
Hey, tech geek here. The wonky text-to-speech voice heard throughout the video is actually from an extremely old piece of software known as "Software Automatic Mouth," or SAM. It was originally released for the Commodore 64.
this seems very half-assed. the music is transcribed horribly, the grammar is about as bad as it could get, and the ghost house music is from mario maker smb1 and not super mario world. if this gets a remake I'd be happy
The grammar and Ghost House theme are valid enough complaints, but keep in mind: this is based on Hummer Team's Super Mario World demake. The poorly transcribed music was done on purpose to mimic the NES version.
@@ArinStitchI have no idea. I just have a feeling they didn't put much effort into it somewhat on purpose. You should give the Hummer Team versions a listen; compare for yourself. It's… interesting, to say the least.
No want to be annoying but at least the sprites could be better this is a GBC not a NES version of hummer team and also the sky level used the wrong music
Why do so many people here hate creepypastas and other horror medium of pre-existing franchises? Like, sure, there’s definitely bad ones out there, such as the original Sonic.exe, but there’s your fair share of good ones. And when people bring up bad creepypastas based on Mario, they bring up the likes of usually either Blood Whistle, which, while bad, I find it enjoyably bad, in a so-bad-it’s-good way, similarly to the original Jeff the Killer, or I HATE YOU, in which IHY was written deliberately as a joke by Slimebeast, information he revealed shortly after he finished it back in 2012, long before it got popular in the mid-2010s. Plus, horror media in general can be just as creative as any other, and saying that it’s “creatively bankrupt” is an extremely reductive mindset. Can horror be terrible? Yes. Are there badly written horror stories? Absolutely. Is the current state of horror pretty very not good due to the oversaturation of mascot horror, which is more concerned with (as a UA-camr said when discussing a video game called simply “the Park”) merchandising, mass media appeal, and shoving marketable characters into your face. But even then, there’s still good to be found in horror media, even of pre-existing family-friendly franchises, since there’s media like ‘the (Coronation Day), B3313, Powerstar Archives, Lumpy Super Mario Land, Mario19, sm64.z64, and countless other Mario horror media that are genuinely great, so dismissing it all just seems extremely close minded. That being said, in regards to this specifically, it just feels unimpressive. I’m underwhelmed.
On top of this, I feel like quite a few people aren’t as scared by horror in general due to horror becoming mainstream, and therefor, being more exposed to them, getting numb.
Also, on top of all this, I don’t get why people genuinely thought there existed an actual GameBoy port of Super Mario World. I hope this doesn’t come off as mean, but y’all would be easier to take seriously if you thought I HATE YOU was a serious creepypasta than this. Of course it’s not real.

Hello there, thanks for playing my game, I worked really hard on it and I am glad you enjoyed it.
Hey is it fine if I make a remastering of this? Just for fun?
@@KatelynFloofGamingSure you can it’s completely fine to me.
No problem. I did enjoy it
I'm actually surprised someone took the time to recompose my SMB Sewer song into this fangame. 15:33
But try to give some propper credits next time.
What's with the 1-1 clouds and pipes?
5:45 Minor spelling mistake, Mario. We win the argument automatically.
