1: Well, it's not that long of a game in general! In fact, most games of this era were relatively short. We're kinda spoiled nowadays with games that take like, 8+ hours to complete. Having played a game before and knowing exactly what to do really cuts down on time too. 2: Practice! Just knowing what comes next is half of the "skill" involved in video games, and I played this game a lot as a kid. But full disclosure, I'm also doing what is called "tool assisting." The short of it, I'm using an emulator that records all my button presses, and at any time, I can actually "rewind" the game so the recording only keeps the gameplay I want it to. In other words, there's a lot of mistakes in that video that you don't see because I was able to do the equivalent of hitting Ctrl+Z and undoing to try a part again for free! I try not to do that too much, though, because a perfect run looks artificial and inhuman, and there's no suspense if you know the player is never going to fail. 3: Definitely. I spent many hours playing this game as a kid, so it's very familiar to me. But even before I do these recordings, I'll do some practice runs to shake the rust off. A lot of the games I play are 2D platformers too, and a lot of the core skills and muscle memory translate between games.
You are playing just like I playing when I children. This game are legend. Never missed all bugs and life bonus in every stage. 😍
