As ridiculous as the story had been so far, I got about 11 minutes in before completely giving up on its sheer stupidity. First, they had 12 hours to reverse engineer technology they had no way of getting their hands on to begin with. Second, there is no universe where a Captain of an air force is suddenly promoted to command the combined military of the entire world. He lacks the experience of being near that level. If he was heroic in the battle and showed great leadership, he might get promoted and moved to a position that would allow him to gain the experience and training for it sometime in the future. Third, In no circumstance would the commander of the worlds military forces be near any type of boarding action during an ongoing battle. As a fighter pilot by training, he would not have the knowledge or skills to even be near any infantry action let alone lead one. Even a 2nd Lt. in the infantry would have a better understanding of the tactics used then the Air Force Captain would. If he went on the mission, he would also be guilty of, at the minimum, abandoning his post during battle.
With all the above being said, I really am getting tired of finding these stories that have names for potentially good stories only to find they are complete garbage written by either AI or people with pretty much zero knowledge of the military and how military units and organizations actually function. If you know nothing about militaries, dont write stories about them, even fictional stories.
