Yes will never be the same again without the original members who did All the Work to Produce All the Classic Songs and Masterpieces Over the Decades from the Beginning of their Existence
Totally agree. I think a lot of people overlook the importance of backing and harmony vocals in terms of adding depth and dimension to a performance. Chris Squire is perhaps my favorite backing vocalist of all time. I realize now that he's gone how important his harmonies were to the signature Yes sound. So much so that it doesn't even bother me to hear Jon Davison is singing lead in this performance and not Anderson. Dare I say JD actually sounds quite good here live. Squire's harmonies, however, are irreplaceable.
What a voice!!!... IMHO, the most beautiful song ever written period. Everything is spot on.. that synth is brilliant, the drummer, the guitarist...all of them incredible. I FREAKING LOVE THIS SONG!!.
@@michaellord9 Neither keyboardist Geoffrey Downes is Rick Wakeman, despite having briefly played in Yes. Don't get me wrong but it's been years making sounds on the keyboards for each song, and that sound isn't Wackeman's for that song. It's like they put another keyboardist who isn't Geoffrey to play only time will tell by Asia, it sounds like a digital machine, the sound isn't organic. However, it is a good version and a good singer. In October 1976 Rick Wakeman no longer belonged to yes, at that time he was in Switzerland preparing a musical material, he received a cassette with a Call from John Anderson and asking him to listen to it, so wakeman did and the first song was wonderful stories, wakeman listened to it and it fascinated him, he called him back and told him why you wanted him to listen to it, and anderson replied because he wanted to see if you were interested in playing on the album, Wakeman took a flight immediately and in November In 1976 he joined the band Yes again, that's why that song is a doubly wonderful story for me.

I prefer Jon Anderson, but Jon Davison actually does an excellent job. I mean, Anderson's vocals and inflection are not easy to pull off and Davison has an excellent interpretation and an awesome voice in his own right. Chris doesn't seem as driven and definitely played better off of Anderson. It's as he is subdued. Geoff Downes did a nice job (I guess this is his second stint with Yes). He didn't really do Wakeman's parts but added his own flair.
Wakeman said something to the effect of "it's the artists who are present to make the music that make Yes." Glad to hear a nice mix. I'm all emotional with the moon up and all, so it gets me no matter who.
Spot on. I'm a Yes and Supertramp fan and an ex singer, THE quality of tone and hitting of every note could not be better The backing vocals are incredible too
A mí me parece una versión bastante digna; este Yes no ofende como otras bandas progresivas a las cual el paso del tiempo les ha herido de muerte; a mí me gustan...

I agree. Drama in 1980 kind of fits into the Yes mould in a way, more 'rocky' than with Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman with Trev's kind of weird Buggles vocal style but it worked, Machine Messiah, Tempus Fugit, Into the Lens, etc. Very angular and kind of mechanical. Better than this latest tribute band style stuff.

Outstanding performance. Genuine love of the emotion. Beauty in audible format.
Man, Chris' voice just sounds so great in the harmony part...not to mention his wha wha bass. The whole rendition sounds great on this one.
I wouldn’t go that far - Jon’s voice sounds a bit whiny at times. Anderson’s tone is purer…

I AGREE !
I agree not a YES level at all
Faux Yes sounds like garbage. Davison should learn to sing like Anderson. It’s not about the range, but the enunciation and the tone.
Im a jon's fan and I love this song but I have to admit that this singer is good! Nice voice too

THE GEMELOUS VOICE OF JON ANDERSON.
Yes without Anderson is not Yes
And without Rick Wakeman too!
You may choose to call them Yes. If it should so please you, then by all means, do so. Without Anderson out front, I call them No.
The same can be said with Chris.
I agree. Jon Anderson = YES
This tour was amazing- just like all the others 😍
Geoff Downes will never reach the level of quality that Rick Wakeman had, when performing classic Yes songs🤔
Nothing ever stays the same
No doubt ...yes is the voice and presence of john anderson
Es impresionante los teclados del maestro Wakeman
It's not exactly YES but it is still wonderous! Love this song and it is not a bad version really.
Really.....without Jon it is just shit
Actually--it IS🌌 YES 🌌in a varied incarnation-💫 #ChrisSquire 💫 being fundamental....

Wonderful song
I had to do a double take , for a second I thought that was Billy Bob Thornton and not Steve Howe.
Bwahah hahaha
I had to do a double take because I thought it was Lord Aragorn on vocals, not Jon Davison.
I remember when Steve Howe was a decent guitarist. Oh, but for the memory of it all!
nice cover.
Jon Davison is a more-than-worthy successor of Anderson.
