Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. Colbert's been pretty consistent about Sanders, taking the piss out of him every chance he gets. Funny that they really haven't done much satire on Clinton lately.
Pretty clear how the audience feels about Sanders, his policies. It's been incredibly depressing to watch The Daily Show, Comedy Central staples and Colbert clearly in the bag for $hillary. They know their audience. Selling an unappealing criminal with ZERO original ideas has been a hell of task for the corporate establishment, particularly where young audiences comprise the majority of patrons.

It was an incredible rally in Portland, and the shenanigans the bird got up to before and after it said hello to Bernie made the rally all the better. It was worth the 4 hour wait.

I like the way they seamlessly weave the advertising bits into the show so it doesn't even feel like they're plugging anything. Almost makes me want to buy an Oculus Rift... Although the sensible people will wait until they've ironed out the problems with it. In the words of the Wall Street Journal, it's a gadget you hope your neighbor buys so you can try it out, but you wouldn't want to own one unless you're a serious gamer (who's willing to overlook some serious flaws).

Since you included the Wikipedia pronunciation of "Colbert", I thought I'd share my ancestry reflecting how a Scottish name earned a French accent...
FYI - Colbert is originally pronounced just like it's written. The french emphasis of the silent "t" occurred after the Jacobite uprisings in Scotland around 1700. We were originally the Cuthburths of Castlehill, Inverness. Our title was "baron kings" as we were from the oldest native Scottish tribe and were just under the Scottish monarchy. Go to Blainville, France and find "Colbert Chateau". It was where the faithful Cuthburts, fleeing for our lives, joined up with our relations, including Jean Baptiste Colbert, who served as King Louis the XIV's finance minister. Again, that's where the french pronunciation originates.
William de Blainville Colbert was born in France. His son, James Logan Colbert, was born among the Chickasaw tribe. WdBC was a trader who married the Chief's daughter to gain an advantage in his negotiations. In 1782, when the Yanks had defeated the red coats, WdBC left his Chickasaw wife behind and son, James Logan, and returned to the Isle of Skye, died, and is buried there. He left as he felt disloyal to the Scottish crown since this land was no longer tied to the British Isles.
The ancestry is out there. My line includes Tootesmastube, aka Chief George Colbert, whose younger brother Levi, aka Itawamba Mingo, fought against the Indian Act of 1830 until he got sick and died in 1834. Soon after, the Chickasaw and our brethren ended up on the Trail of Tears to Oka Homa which is a Chickasaw word meaning "spirit/fire water". It's what our people turned to to deal with the pain of so many who died on the trail.
Look at the corner of MS and AL and find Itawamba and Colbert counties. That is my ancestry. The town of Colbert, OK is near the TX border and is also named for our kin.
My lineage starting marrying non-NDN women so I have lost quite a bit of the darker features. I'm a Strawberry Blond with natural wavy hair [although I can comb it quite straight when wet too]. Stephen looks as if he may have more of the stronger ties to Jean Baptiste Colbert who had dark hair and/or stronger NDN ancestry.
All Colberts come from the native Scottish tribes. Just some trivia and for anyone else who shares the name, some important background...;0)
BTW, Cuthburth (Colbert) translates to "famous bright". I also had a brief "career" in television too. Ancestry - go figure!
