2014 was an amazing year for Monster Jam. It featured very unique tracks with cars and todays dirt ramps, and they did not care how damaged your truck was they would still let you go. Not to mention if you rolled over they would let you blow the transmission trying to save it. I wish Monster Jam was still like this.
I know I’m late, but nowadays, you can have a grave digger, max d, or son uva digger can continue being broken, but everyone else, if you break, your done.
@@Band__geek Not really, Tom Meents's wheelie bar fell off and they had a stroke and cut him off before he could save it. Ryan Anderson broke a four link bar after a save not long ago and they cut him off.

They should bring this tour back, its my favorite tour because of all of the chaos and well, destruction. this video brings so many nostalgic memories from when i joined the monster truck community, definitely the best tour to exist in the league.
@Pablo312 steel titan 1 and 2 are very good not as good as the older ones though Also monster 4x4 Masters of steel powered by monster jam and monster jam maximum destruction from the PS2 era are great but maximum destruction is more like twisted metal
The Monster Truck Tour I grew up attending was actually a branch off of the Thunder Nationals tour. The promoter for the Monster Truck Nationals, George Eisenhart Jr., actually got HIS start working for Aaron Polburn who was the co-creator of the Thunder Nationals tour. Conversely, Aaron Polburn got his start announcing drag races at a track in Ohio ran by George Eisenhart's dad, George Eisenhart Sr. Sadly, George Eisenhart Jr. passed away in 2009 due to an unfortunate on-track incident during one of his shows and the tour was sold to another company who ran it for about 9-10 years before the tour ceased operations
As someone from Maryland, I loved these tours. I remember going to Philadelphia in 2010 and 2012, and Baltimore in 2011 and 2013. It’s a shame there’s no stadium event in Maryland anymore. They tried FedEx field last year and while I had fun, attendance was bad and I don’t think monster jam will go back.
@nr27productions I'm from Maryland as well. I wanted to go to Fed Ex Field, but was unable to. Was attendance that bad? It's a shame. M&T Bank Stadium shows stopped for 2 reasons I know of. 1 was attendance slightly decreasing each year and 2 Complaints of the astro turf being torn up during the 2nd and 3rd years Monster Jam was there. I'd assume the owners were the ones unhappy about that. It sucks, but man was it awesome while it lasted. I wish they'd come back or at least make Fed Ex Field a yearly stop even if it is during silly season.

I’m pretty sure there were more people at the Arlington 2020 show (first show during Covid with limited attendance) then were at this one. There was never an official reason why they left but I just assume it was because of attendance. Maybe they’ll give it another try next year but who knows.

I was at the First Stadium show in Cincinnati. It was a great event! Seeing Ryan Andersons first freestyle win in Spider-Man was amazing! If I remember correctly they only had a limited amount of tickets to sell.
Fun Fact: The 2013 East Rutherford event was planned to be the last event shown on speed before its rebrand into fox sports 1. They actually filmed the episode opening with Scott Douglass addressing that fact. I have no idea why it never made it to air.
I went to Philly in 2010 and 2011, and went to MetLife from 2012 till 2017. Amazing times and the 2014 event was by far my favorite Monster Jam event ever to attend. Such nostalgia from this tour that it deserves to have a separate part of my childhood compared to the rest of it.
I wish the summer was an easier time for events. Monster jam hosting events in Pacific northwest venues in the spring is a really dumb move. It's not ever really that cold up here but...IT'S THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST IN SPRING. We've been super lucky so far in seattle but that won't last every year.
Hot take: Baltimore 2011 was the best freestyle Tom Meents has ever done. What sets it apart for me is that it had better momentum and flow than most other Tom Meents runs since usually he just yeets the truck from one side of the floor to the other without trying to do combos, and that the truck managed to stay mostly in one piece since as much as Tom makes magic happen while fighting with a broken truck, it can hinder a truly great performance. On top of that, the run still had most of the other hallmarks of Tom Meents' classic freestyles: Huge air, it filled the clock, and of course the McMeents Twist remains one of the craziest moves ever performed in a monster truck.
Awesome video man! I didn't know that the shows held in 2017-19 were still considered part of the Path of Destruction tour. In my opinion, I personally enjoyed those shows a lot but they definitely weren't on the level of the previous years. I think what could've made them forgettable was probably the coverage of the shows as it wasn't as exciting

I also think if they wanna put them on the tour that’s fine… but for stuff like Philly and East Rutherford they should be different tours not the same tour… it’s just too close together.
Monster jam should have a separate series where mega trucks run in stadiums and do racing and freestyle like the monster trucks. Sorta like the Xfinity Series in Nascar.
Philadelphia was dropped because around this time monster jam was running the Ukraine tires. The tires have extremely prominent treads. When they visited Philly, the tires dug clean through the dirt and shifted the wood/plastic and fucked up the eagles grass. the stadium got pissed and said they didn't want them back until they got new tires. This lead monster jam to trimming, cutting, and buffing the ukraine tires, and eventually the partnership with bkt.
