They won't. Having bought an EV from a legacy manufacturer and dealership. It is an good thing that they aren't selling them at normal dealerships. Most Legacy dealerships don't want to sell or deal with EV. I got lucky but it still wasn't an easy process.
No coverage of the (coming via software update) self-driving features? I think that's important to a lot of people (having had OpenPilot running in my '17 Chevy Volt for well over two years I will NEVER buy a car or truck that does not have at least Level 2 driving, or can’t have it added later). I think most will really like the using their cell phone for the key (that you skimmed over), and all the features the phone app offers that you didn't cover at all. Also almost no coverage of all the features of the car accessible through the center display. "150kw chargers are still pretty rare"??? Thats not the Mustang Mach-E's fault, and it's also a pretty moot point, as most people charge at home and will not even need big fast chargers (let alone 150kw!!) most of the time, and more and more big (even 150kw) fast chargers will appear over the next few years. “Here’s the problem for the Mach-E, you can have a choice of two batteries…” eeeee, that’s not a “problem” LOL, having choice is “great”!! Also no mention of the GT performance version. I think you seemed overly negative on the Mach-E, and did not even cover a lot of the cars best features!! I think the “USP” of the car is the incredible range + all the tech (most of which you didn’t even cover).
In the EPA test the Mach-E RWD Extended range (98kWh battery) achieves 300 miles (combined cycle) that magically become 379 miles in the WLTP cycle. I don't know about you but i'm personally more inclined to believe the EPA range. I like the line but I don't like the whole line it feels more like a sedan on heels , in fact looking at the internal space it can't see how this would be an SUV. The battery in the extended range is 9*8*kWh gross (88 useable) and the 0-62 for the ER RWD is 7.0 (5.8 is for the AWD) and the highest range EV in Europe is the Model S (405 miles WLTP range, 402 EPA range)
He doesn't know that the inner rubber for opening the door is for, Ford has clearly indicated that with their studies, they found that people open the car always by grabbinng the inner , and it helps children and all heights to open and close.
The car looks amazing, whilst Audi Etron might have the badge there is nothing inside the car which differentiates it and makes is look and feel like an electric vehicle. The mustang does look futuristic inside and the styling outside looks impressive. The range is the game changer for me and i am ordering one. The first time i am moving from a German car (Merc/BMW/Audi)and my current Italian Ghibli in years.
But really only the model y is a competitor as the merc and etron and I pace have 100miles less than the best Mach-e The ix3 about 200 in the real world
Here in Canada, the Mustang in the long range AWD version is easily $20-30k (and often $40k) cheaper than the e-tron or i-pace. It's crazy that they're on par price-wise in the UK.
Just saw few US reviews and all editors were impressed about how it drives, handles. Only way to find out - give it a go when possible :)....and they claim up to 300 miles od range - WLTP once again - too much optimism !!:)
Rear headroom is compromised by an opening sunroof but is not by merely a glass ceiling. Why is it even suggested to keep the charge lead under the floor. I don't know how Ford is going to sell a 250+ Mile range Electric when they won't even stand behind a 20 Mile range 2013 Ford CMAX Energi. My hybrid battery failed after 87K miles and 11 days out of warranty. My dealer wants $15,000 to replace it. Take a lesson from me. Ford will not stand behind their engineering and quality! That is why Tesla will eat their lunch in the Electric vehicles. My service guy says Ford is expecting the New Electric Mustang to drop 30% in value the first year-- because it's a Ford. I spent $38,000 on my Ford CMAX and Ford would only give me $2,000 as a trade in! That is $0.41/mile depreciation! Something is wrong with Ford!

But the funny part is the Mach e rwd long range real weakness is the slow charging speed and the heat pump but it still gives you more range during winter than ev6 and a Tesla y. 1) Why are most of the views of the boot of these reviews so dark, just use spot metering! 2) The caption Speed ~150KW is not a speed, it's just a figure, you need time for a speed or rate.
Yeah, Mach-e can charge with 150kw. Tesla Model Y can charge with 250kw. Mach-E will get 58 miles of range in 10 minutes of charging. Tesla Model Y gets 150 MILES of range in 10 minutes of charging. Mach-E is very inefficient car !
So far does seem pretty promising as far slightly over priced mainstream E-suv can be. Think it will do well for Ford. It may not be the best or worst, it seems to sit in the middle and Ford are probably counting on that. However can we please stop comparing any tablet style infotainment screen and minimalistic interior as influenced by Tesla, its not just Tesla that does these kinds of interiors, they all do tablet style touch screen and sadly no buttons ( bring back physical buttons!) IF you can live without this tech then save £10,000 and buy the RWD standard range.
Slightly biased review ain't it
So you're comparing electric cars by its price... when the biggest cost is the electrical group+Batteries.
So it isn't as fancy/plush as the Bimmer or the Audi... but it lasts twice at the same cost
So try the opposite. Put the same electrical system+batteries on the BMW or the Audi and compare its costs! audi/BM became how much? 80K? 90K? 100K?
Why didn't you compare it with the real competitor... Tesla model X (or Y if you wan't to keep it biased)
P.S. - I'm a Bimmer fan and owner
Thanks for that comment. And how does he now what the iX3 will be like? Did he drive it then? I am ab Bimmer fan too, but that is bad journalism. So i spam the comment section with this comment 😁
First of all: The e-tron is 4,90 meter long and 1,94 m wide, the mach-e is 4,71 m long and 1,88 m wide. They are NOT in the same class. Also if you compare the e-tron with the mach-e 4x you have to choose the 55. That car costs 79.000 Euro in germany, the mach-e 63.000 Euro. And if you want the same specs like the mach-e the e-tron costs about 90.000 Euro!
Then the interiour. The e-tron 50 is much cheaper inside then the mach-e. You have to order the premium trim if you want nice matirial.
About the ride for now i cannot say anything. I have not driven the mach-e. But this is the only jounalist on youtube, that thinks the ride of the mach-e ist bad...... i am looking forward to drive a mach-e to see if he is the one who is right 🙄
Specced a rear-wheel-drive vehicle with extended battery on the web site, it's £47k.
This seems like a decent rival to a Tesla Model 3 given that the Model Y will not be available in the UK any time soon.
Model Y will be available in 2021 with the 4680 cells and fsd.

Upcoming model Y threw me off guard a little bit.
Nah he's a UK reviewer, where the Model Y is still unavailable
Ford please please bring the light interior option to Europe and the U.K., it looks so much better than the black/red combination
So, you make several references to the BMW iX3 regarding right quality. But i can‘t find a testdrive of the BMW in your account!?
Is it just the general perception of US cars in europe. The US and candian Testers are more lucky with the MMEs ridequality.

Looks a great car , but if only available to order on line and Ford dealerships not having it , how can you test drive before you buy?
You have to cholse a Dealer during ordering online. So you can also testdrive a MME at the dealer.
Watched 5 reviews on this car from all over the world. You are the only one that doesn't really like it? Everyone else thinks its a great car.
Meanwhile over at J.D. Power's HQ...

Thanks for a good, through evaluation. I learned quite a bit about the car and how to choose the best deal, well done and thank you.
But the AWD I Pace with 100 miles less range is £66k!!!
3:43 range at 100 % calculates to 211 miles or 340 km. 🤔
What's the range with heater turned on full blast driving like normal person and not 90 year old and doing 80mph on highway
340km is kind of disappointing for a 88kwh battery. I'd hate if we were on etron consumption levels.
I thought the 68kwh battery had 345km of range
@@Scrap-press batteries are shit and only get worse with age
very nice 👌, let's see how ford dealers and funders push the mach-e
They won't. Having bought an EV from a legacy manufacturer and dealership. It is an good thing that they aren't selling them at normal dealerships. Most Legacy dealerships don't want to sell or deal with EV. I got lucky but it still wasn't an easy process.
Very nice ? That's terribly bad on every spec !
Your numbers are incorrect. The Mach-E can do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.
Push the volume knob twice and you get a Calm Screen...That's why it's a little loose..
building a car without door handles, given that the doors do not operate independently, is like going back in the evolution..
But really only the model y is a competitor as the merc and etron and I pace have 100miles less than the best Mach-e
The ix3 about 200 in the real world
Here in Canada, the Mustang in the long range AWD version is easily $20-30k (and often $40k) cheaper than the e-tron or i-pace. It's crazy that they're on par price-wise in the UK.
They aren’t though. I don’t understand the point of comparing them.
The reviewer was totally incorrect on pricing. The cheapest I Pace with a lot less range is £9k more than the Mach E. Poor fact checking, sadly.
Remember that pricing includes transport. Their cares cost more here ours more there.
Just saw few US reviews and all editors were impressed about how it drives, handles. Only way to find out - give it a go when possible :)....and they claim up to 300 miles od range - WLTP once again - too much optimism !!:)
def the best looking
Almost £60k and you don't get a heat pump? Even our little e-208 has one...
You say it has the longest WLTP range like the Model S doesn't exist with a 379 WLTP range as well... or the refresh with 405 miles WLTP range
Rear headroom is compromised by an opening sunroof but is not by merely a glass ceiling. Why is it even suggested to keep the charge lead under the floor. Surely it's fairly rarely used, and if required it's likely to be on a journey with a boot full of luggage. The pick of the range you mentioned - how much?
Topgear review is better imo
Here in the U.S. I can fully charge TESLA model Y for about $12. Mach-E would cost me $26 to be fully charge at much much slower speed !!
This is cool
No it's not
Wondering how your video said it's range is 300+ miles where everywhere else it's 300 tops?
WLTP Vs EPA
Really tempting price 40k -57k 😂is that ford trying to get people to buy them.if you're poor you'll be definitely paying that off for a. Couple of years

Seemed really good, until I heard the price..what a shame
Price isn't that bad if you consider that the competition is around 10-15K more expensive at least. Plus, you only get an electric car for the tax benefits anyway.
@@stephans1990 you're right about the tax benefits but branding is the issue, guess that's why ford have tried to shift it to a mustang brand...not sure that'll work when up against Audi, Tesla, Jaguar etc
Bang and olef. Sound system... impressive!
Can't wait for these stupid touchscreens to go away. Track up/down and volume should be buttons along with heating controls.
The Mach E seemed to have some button controls on the steering wheel, but was not mentioned in this review
That volume dial just looks awful and so cheap. So many touch interfaces seem so far behind current phones as well, horrible.
Except they aren't going away.
Ugh..dog Shyte on the door cill.. thanks

ok that is the only thing I liked about this "Mock E" imo
What is the color of this particular Mustang Mach-Ethat you are reviewing?
I was wondering myself. My best guess is it’s the carbonised grey but if someone can confirm?
Carbonised grey
Looks fab, what a fantastic range too.
57k? They must be smoking something.
it's ridiculously hard to put the cost down because of the battery. that's why Tesla will blow away competition because of their ability to keep the cost down while increasing the range. But this is a worthy competitor. Model Y starts at 50k u.s. and the base mach E starts at 45k.
@@joec.5009 Tesla definitely still has a technical and cost advantage. That's pretty clear now and that's on their "old" batteries.
@@joec.5009 yeah but that 45k mache isn’t available yet, is only rear drive and only gets like 200 miles of range. It is massively non competitive with the model y when priced the same or cheaper. Looks good though.
Ford said that the back door is that way because kids tend to just grab the door anyways.
Realistically 280m for long range, so a 210 mile charge takes 40 mins at best. Tesla does it in 20-25mins. Game over
To be honest the Mach e gets bashed alot. But the funny part is the Mach e rwd long range real weakness is the slow charging speed and the heat pump but it still gives you more range during winter than ev6 and a Tesla y. Yeah sure the Mach e comes with smaller rims but in the summer it beats both MY and EV6. Etron comparison is a joke.
The Model S has better range at >400 miles on a full charge.
I keep hearing that Tesla is unable to reach their claimed range.
@@RobbieFitzgerald No electric vehicle does under usual driving habits. But the rates range can be achieved under ideal weather conditions and no steep hill climbing, tame acceleration, etc.

Why?
HE TOLD YOU THE TIME IT TAKES. IT NOT A LIVING WITH THE CAR REVIEW.
What is WLTP? Is is better than EPA?
Ford say it won't be available at dealers.. but they said that about Vignale cars..
So far does seem pretty promising as far slightly over priced mainstream E-suv can be. Think it will do well for Ford. It may not be the best or worst, it seems to sit in the middle and Ford are probably counting on that. However can we please stop comparing any tablet style infotainment screen and minimalistic interior as influenced by Tesla, its not just Tesla that does these kinds of interiors, they all do tablet style touch screen and sadly no buttons ( bring back physical buttons!) They are probably more influenced by touch screen tablet and mobile phones that everyone and their granny has at home and is familiar with rather than Tesla.

So this is a reworked Focus platform. And hasn't ford done a deal to use the VW MEB platform? I'm a bit confused as they're roughly the same size, but this Mach-e shows Ford doesn't need the MEB? Or have I missed something? If anyone can explain I'd be grateful
This is not using a reworked version of the Focus/Kuga/Escape platform. Its a completely different dedicated EV platform. You can find videos of Ford engineers giving interviews talking about that. Its just one of many factual errors in this poorly done video.
It'd drive me nuts being in a left-hand car in a left side country. Is Ford going to make right-hand versions?
