The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), Souheila Yacoub (“The Braves,” “Climax”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present A Legendary Pictures Production, A Film By Denis Villeneuve, “Dune: Part Two.” The film is slated for a March 1, 2024 release in theaters and IMAX nationwide and internationally beginning on 28 February 2024, distributed by Warner Bros. The sound design for this sequence in the cinema was amazing!
just Hans Zimmer things!

The IMAX experience on this movie was worth every penny!!!
I Swear, Bardem was amazing in this film, first one too.
as always

Saw it twice, first at a regular imax and second at a 70mm showing, they did such a good job using the incredible aspect ratio. It even gave me goosebumps the second time watching it. Oppenheimer and Avatar 2 have nothing on Dune 2’s visuals, just stunning.
I like how he fell onto the worm instead of jump. It is a small detail but more accurate due to the sand. Great attention to detail.
I really like the book explanation for that, the worm turns whatever side has an opened segment up out of the sand, so they hook on, open the segment and wait for the worm to turn
Then it goes BOOOOOOOM. Like you're in the shit and now it's just you and the worm.
accurate to what?
@@jasonbarkman when he is going to jump onto the sand there isn’t enough resistance to make him jump. So, his body just falls onto the worm. It is what’s happens in real life when jumping in sand. I think it’s a cool detail.
That worm truly sounds like a space rocket blasting off
Yeah. I remember the theatre I was in first went berserk, then went silent for about 2-3 minutes and then loud cheers and whistles again.. This was without doubt the most spectacular scene of the movie.
Listen All Gabe
I think they probably sampled a rocket launch for the effect, definitely sounds like an engine exhaust.
진짜 로켓 쏘는 소리가 나
@@tintiniitk people cheer and whistle in your theatre? damn
IT IS A FULL BLOWN SPACE EPIC EXPERIENCE. Villeneuve is just cemented his name across the stars....
Watched this masterpiece in IMAX today... Mind-blowing visuals, epic scale direction, exhilarating sound and Zimmer's god level score... This is the top tier filmmaking ❤
I think what made this scene so great was everyone had the look on their face like he was going to die
Spoilers;
Afterwards, they talk about this being a grandfather worm, giant even by Fremen standards.
Shai Hulud itself, as written!@@teamvlcn6820
The closeup of him standing up and the music kicking in is so good!! Chills down my body 🔥
We need more movies like this! Made by a great and talented team, great cast, amazing visuals, interesting and rich story, a competent director, AND NO STUPID ATTEMPTS OF HUMOR!!!!! Congrats to all involved in the project!
We're looking at you Marvel!
Sound design and set design are good, bad casting and plot butchery ruin it.
@@ashleigh3021 I have my bones to pick with some of the casting but plot butchery - true it does not adapt many things from the books but Herbert's book does not really lent itself to film in general - you would be bored of 3 hours of "plans within plans" It is the best adaptation by fat - not perfect but hey I can't explain how Paul's powers works any better - In this moment Paul does not see what becomes of him and believe this is why it is not mentioned - it would get convoluted very fast otherwise
Watching him ride the worm in 70mm is something everyone needs to experience, I might even go see it a third time, which would be my second in 70mm.
cringe wasting money on seeing a film multiple times
Once it goes out of theatre we cant this great movie again on big screen. So watching again isbt bad idea. Even I am considering to watch again.
Watched this two days a go in IMAX. I am currently resisiting the temptation to buy another ticket for next weekend. Great film, great acting, great directing, great score. Top tier film without any doubts
My only regret is unable to watch this on imax.
This scene on IMAX felt so insane. The sound quality alone was worth it.
I'm not resisting the temptation, i'm definitely to watch it again in IMAX!!!
Don’t resist; I’m going again as soon as possible!
don't resist it, let it be done as lisan al gaib said =)))))
This movie was glorious on IMAX and on Dolby theater
The sound effect and music in IMAX theater are indescribable! I even felt the vibration from the chair (It may be due to the amp?)
Just watched it for Fan First Premiere! It's EPIC!!! Better than the first film! Must see it multiple times!!! 100 out of 100!!
That sound effect on 3:57 gave me goosebumps in the theatre
Stilgar as played by Javier Barden i could see being true and loyal to the twins, Leto 2 and Ganima. such a good job for him.
You can see Paul’s arms twist how normal arms aren’t supposed too but not get hurt, if you read the books you know the Bene Gessirit can manipulate their body’s chemistry, a nice little touch they left.
This scene in IMAX is such a highlight
Watching this in anything other than IMAX is a disservice to yourself. The added height in the aspect ratio (this is 21:9, IMAX would be in 1.9:1) just engulfs your vision and makes it that much more impactful.
Until Dune 2, I’ve never gone back to a theater to see the same film twice. It was an absolute pleasure to see it in Dolby.
Villeneuve took one of the most iconic points in the novel and MADE IT 20 TIMES BETTER!!! SO EXCITED!!!
This scene was incredible in theaters
dear gods of cinematography ... pray I ever am this freeeeeaking good.
dont hire all the hype actors of the era, it s fucking lame...
@@MrFlyingPanda your comment has nothing to do with cinematography
In an interview, they explained that they built a 90 by 24 feet rig that they dubbed the "worm unit", with a platform covered with textured worm skin with hook openings, wind fans and a collapsing sand engine. It took them 3 months of filming for these 3 minutes.
I love watching this and thinking to myself about who the first crazy bastard was that said to themself, "You know what? I bet I can ride one of those." 🤣
Well it's all sand. I can only imagine it was born out of fucking boredom 😂
one thing i can say without a doubt is amazing is the FCK SCORE - this makes want to go on a holy war myself
Soundtrack is "ripples in the sand" for anyone wondering
Going to see this Saturday and so looking forward to hearing that on-rushing worm sound in full Dolby!!
Star Wars ain’t got nothing on Dune! This will be epic.
Factz🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
They must not fuck it up😂
Star Wars to dune no one 2as cali g for new dune movie EVERYONE a want new star wars movies
@@maineoutdoorsman677you have zero clue what Science Fiction fans want. We have been wanting a truer version of Dune for decades.
Well, star wars is for kids. You wouldn't take a kid to watch Alien unless you're a psycho.
1:05 Summon a big one!
3:04 NOT THAT BIG!
It made me chuckle so hard at theatre XD
We needed a strong movie. For a second, there was no hope
Well they didn't disappoint, it was an epic movie.
you know what's incredible? The way Paul is almost sliding off multiple times implies the worm is turning. So at the end when they're watching him stand its because the worm doubled back or turned around it's just not some cheap plot armor trick
I watch this in theatre last evening and I was shaking from inside during this scene.
In my opinion, the best version of Dune to date!
And pardon my French but Hans Zimmer fcuking nailed it, just amazing!
Best Science fiction franchise ive ever seen
This movie was spectacular! A monumental cinematic achievement!
When his knees stand out felt goosebumps ❤❤ love from India 🇮🇳
Imagine a fly lands on your back and starts dictating where you go. Though it does seem to try to make it believeable. The sandworms seem to have some kind of nostrils under their scales, which would be stretched open by the hooks. This causes the worm to go up, so that the sands don't come into said 'nostrils'.
Photorealistic effects made it seem very real. 8 out of ten. Sound in my theater was a bit low for some of the whispered dialogue. Slight changes in sequence from the books but a great adaptation. I really liked the close in shot of the two moons of Arrakis and the vehicles and sandworms which were very close to what i imagined reading the book series. Can't wait for Dune messiah (part 3 / book two) which is heavily hinted at by one famous actress short scene foreshadowing it. Keep an eye out for her)
Warner and legendary aced it. Deni has lifted the sci fi bar to new heights. Cinema at its best in 2024. Never seen a movie of such caliber and perfection since 2001 a space Odyssey.
EPIC!! Can't wait to see it on the big screen! :DDD
Zendaya face acting was so believable in the end.
Yeah typical murican teenage bratt nothin speshul
I'm curious about how this guy will umount this thing. 🤔 I can't wait to see it on the IMAX.
They ride them to exhaustion, at which point the worm doesn't want to do anything but rush back underground.
Incredible scene!✨
This is not a movie, denis did an art and bring it to our eyes.
Get a big one!.... Freemen see what he called..
Freemen: "ah hell naw!!"
Fremen, not Freemen
They couldve made this scene clean and more epic. But the realistic detailing makes this into much more. Adds to the prophecy.
the woman who joked with paul , is she harah ? the way chani looked at her in murderous glare
Shishakli
Simply Epic , one thing though , the googles were not there at start of scene but present during the chase , might be automatic 😂
I just saw it and it was great! Don’t delay, get out to see it.
Absolute CINEMÀ
Great movie.. Chilling experience in theaters ❤
Never knew about dune until I stumbled on the original on youtube. I've watched the first one at least thirty times and cannot wait to see part two.
01:11 always makes me laugh😂😂
Again, it is the legend.
once again it is the legend
Insane experience.
Dune part 2 achieves what James Cameron couldn't.
how ?? Cameron makes the movie, this is an adaptation and the scenario is not better than the first one..
What a bizarre statement about two people with unrelated sci-fi box office successes.
The sand alone was worth watching this in 4K in the first part, I can not wait to see this as well.
you have to watch on cinema to experience this masterpiece
Bless the maker and his water.
Shai halud
Mmmm...Shai Hulud..
How could they see from that distance, and through all that dust, that he was actually riding the worm?
Even i was wondering.May be 8000 years later humans could be having eagle like vision
Spice melange massively improves your perception ;)
Looking good!
did any one notice, Fremen flag is almost exactly like Kai tribe Flag, a birth tribe of Ottoman empire ...beside many reference to Islamic prophecy of Madhi and its opposition within that group along with similar line "this prophecy is going to make lazy and enslaved us", fascinating
i can’t wait !
Dune by Deni Vilnev is the greatest epic movie since LOTR
Thank you, now I can say his name correctly!

Sorry, I've tried
I just watched it, this is an epic movie event of the year! Dont missed out!
Best movie I’ve seen in years.
Very absorbing 🎉

Хорошо сняли фильм🎥🎬👀 впечатляет
Loved the movie cant wait for the game and more movies! :)
The game already released in 1992 :)
We need true IMAX format clips UA-cam if you are hearing, for movies like this😢!
I love that movie almost like a book.
Impressive Scene, but when did Paul put on his protections googles? ;)
Wait I don't understand . The worm passed the group of fremen at great speed . So how does it comes around it front of them again to show Paul riding it? There is some continuity or camera angle error here I think
when is part 3???
يبدو فيلماً قوياً 😀
Audience: Give us an Directors cut!!
Warner: There is no other cut what you see is what you get!!
Audience: ....................well go back and film some more then!!!
This is an excellent movie. We'll worth the cost to see in the theater
so....how exactly do you disembark without injuring yourself?
this..like resrvoirdogs- i have not seenit but i know its good,
O oscar vai para.....
2024 Oscar in the bag
She too will believe.... I believe
Lisan al Gaib!!
AS WRITTEN!!!!!!
I so want him to add in all th emissing scenes, Special Edition, don't care, ,I want them all.
Can't fxcking wait
When did Paul put his goggles on?
🥶
Thumper… the most valuable non human prop
Tell me 😅you don’t know Dune novel collection inspired Star Wars without telling me….
You nailed by pointing that out !!
J’adore ton commentaire!
I like it.
Is that Anthony Quinn's son? Grandson?
just watch the film and I'm still wondering how they come off
in the books they explain that they basically ride the worm until it stops moving out of exhaustion, then they get off.
