- In Brussels, EU leaders have wrapped up a two-day summit announcing a proposal to impose tariffs on Russian grain. They also agreed to work out a plan to use interest from frozen Russian assets to help Kyiv buy more arms despite threats from Russia, which accused the West of stealing. The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, expects this strategy to generate around €3 billion in 2024.

Why farmers protest because of Ukrainian grain imports but not for Russian grain imports?
I think EU has reduced or removed import fees for Ukrainian grains to support them in the war. This dumps the price for grains in whole EU, which results in lost profits for EU farmers.

Its already been WW3 for quite some time. We have UK boots on the ground, Sunak has admitted that, and we supply intelligence and weapons. However, its not official. Rather than people pressing the big red button, wars now are fought by intelligence services de-stabilising governments, and we sell arms to selected countries to use their soldiers instead of ours in proxy wars.
Germany ought to divest all its assets and enterprises to the United States and China in support of Ukraine. This way you get money and help Ukraine. The European Union should similarly divest all assets to China for the benefit of Ukraine. The money received in the process to invest to produce arms in China and the US. It is imperative to compel the youth of the EU to actively participate in defending Ukraine while relocating the operational center of leadership to the United States. The military should remain in the EU but solely for the purpose of deploying personnel to Ukraine. This strategic plan represents the sole viable solution for the next five years.
Maybe inquiring minds should consider and expand on Switzerland joining NATO.

It shows signs of desperation. I dont know who is winning this war, cant believe Western news or Russian news, but the losing side will always take the most risks. Why risk losing trust in investing assets in Europe? Why risk de-stabilizing food prices around the world by grain tariffs? Its the same kind of thing sending cluster munitions to the Ukraine. Why risk Ukrainians being harmed for years to come? Or depleted Uranium harming the land - even if high cancer rates in Iraq is co-incidence. We are the one taking risks. Not something anyone winning this war would do.

They may throw out their relations with South Korea and the United States. Which isn't a good move when they need 60 billion from the United States to pass.
