Let me know which string and tension do you use?

Depends on the particular string and racquet, but usually around 53lbs for a 1.25mm poly. Any lower and I feel I lose control as I have a flatter hitting game.

I use Alu power at 23/22 but my arm hurts. I’m going to try 18/18 now because I never hit long really, only into the top inch of the net. I was happy with 18/16 but I kept trying to go higher…mistake! Now I’m going to find a stiff bed at 18/18 but loose enough to feel good and have a higher trajectory. Your thoughts? Thanks for your video

Great video! I use Prince Tour XP 1.25 at 21 kg on my Boom MP

I found the best compromise of performance and comfort with stiff control polys like Tourbite at 36lbs - and I tried nearly every string setup you can imagine :D The sweetspot becomes huge, the strings loosen up without becoming mushy or trampoline-like. This doesn't work that well with softer polys or softer strings in general, but for controlled strings like MaxPower, Alu Power, RPM Blast I think everybody should at least try tensions below 20kg once. Many will be surprised how much control you still have and how much the comfort level will rise.

It is really interesting. Yeah I have a lot of teammates who are using polys around 20kg or less. Which is crazy to me. I have to still use at least 24kg to not hit the backfence regurarly. But maybe I should try it out sometimes. Thanks for your comment :)

Depends on your game style, ability, and personal preference. I think the best of both worlds is a softer poly like msv focus hex 1.27 at the highest recommended tension on the racquet. My Head Gravity MP is 57lbs. The gravity mp has a low RA flex of 62 so its softer. I also have a Head Graphene XT Speed MP A with an RA near 70 snd a max tension also of 57. Because it's stiffer than the Gravity mp, I still go with 57lbs and msv focus hex 1.27, but cross it with softer multi like Head Velocity MLT 17 @57. Both setups provide control because of the higher tension, yet good comfort, feel, and good spin because of the softer string. Another good cross very similar to MLT and slightly cheaper is Prince Lightning Pro 17.

Hi, currently using the Diadem Elevate Tour. When I was using a synthetic gut (Forten, I like cheap), I was stringing 52 to 55 lbs. When using full bed of polyester (Vokl Cyclone or Diadem Solstice Power), I usually string 48 to 52 lbs. Finally, the cheap hybrid (Forten Syn Gut and Gosen Polynon) was strung at 50lbs.

I use luxilon ALU power rough on the cross at 43lb. And polytour pro on the main at 46lb. Is this tension ok for me?

many many years ago, i would string between 60-64lbs. but as racquets and technology changed, i've gone all the way down to 46lbs. i've tried as low as 35lbs. felt nice, but felt i had to restring too often. so landed on 44-46lbs as my standard :)

Very interesting on how technology and also modern playstyle changed the way rackets are strung in general. Thanks for sharing that

Have you tried stringing the mains from the crosses in different kilos? And if you know from your experience if it really plays a role in spin etc ?
