It works. Demagnetizing takes more time than magnetizing. But it does happen.

got the same one in a micro bit set. It works that i the bottom line. It magnetizes and demagnetizes . Its exactly what the title of the video says. Not the BEST , not the WORST it says magnetizer and Demagnetizer.

Note: Your demagnetized screwdriver will still pick up a screw you previously picked up because the screw will become partially magnetized by the screwdriver. At the very least use two screws, better still use a fresh screw each time you test for a polarity change.

Rolling the screwdriver inside will magnetize or demagnetize it faster than just sliding it in/out.

I think you are supposed to insert the screwdriver slowly and withdraw it slowly in a linear fashion without rotating it when using either the mag or the demag section.

Sometimes you work with very small screws and try to position them and then it can be a pain in the ass when they keep sticking to the screwdriver, making it impossible to get them into place. So i like to be able to both magnitize and demagnitize at will :)

Because some electrical components are sensitive to magnetics. One example of many is a computer hard drive. So without needing to buy different screwdrivers as needed from one application to the next but same screw driver as needs arise magnetic or not. Think of it as an on off button. :)

Seems to work to magnetize but not to demagnetize, you can also see on the video he has to spen a lot more time to demag it. I can't even demag the one i magnetized. I tried to demagnetize the one i magnetized with it for 1 hour, it's still magnetized.

Takes longer to demagnetize. Also if you're testing on the same screw that was picked up by a magnetized screwdriver the screw itself will become partially magnetized so even when you demag the screwdriver it still can pick up the screw. Use two screws for testing.

This is a very poor demagnetiser my advise is not to purchase as you will not be happy with the result .
The magnetiser side does work ,
But to remove magnetisms is a joke 😨
