I'm currently doing a "budget build" on my 05 LJ. Inexpensive two inch lift, 31" BFGs, and a winch. Every time I think about modifications, I have to tell myself "budget build, budget build". 😆
I would LOVE to see some actual JK content on JK gear and gadgets. You did one random video a while back where you were all about making more clearance so you raised those rear shocks. It would be badass to see a lot more JK content of literally anything!
Way cool video! Considering a XJ for my boys going into Highschool, rather than turning over keys of the JKU to them. What you might not realize you did by sticking with a 15” wheel and a 31” tall tire is keep good sidewall for airing down! Real nice! Also those Falken Wildpeak AT’s are pretty capable for a AT. We beat the snot out of them in the JK before going MT. Rad XJ coverage.
I highly recommend a iron man or stinky fab no lift shackle relocation bracket for the rear leaf spring to get the correct shackle angle it’ll help tremendously on rear ride quality after lifting it it’ll also strengthen the rear shackle mount there bad about rotting and breaking off under a lot of stress
I dont mess with the yellow dot, only like half the brands even have it. Tire rep told us that's just the inspectors stamp anyway and lining it up on the stem is an old wives tale. Who knows lol
Awesome video Ben, nice cameo with Justin (and Sergio tapping away on his laptop in the trailer). I think if I ever tried Ultra 4 racing I'd be hooked... looks like so much fun!
Great video! Love the Warn/Factor 55 gear improvements. Genius! Too bad you aren't still in VA, Ben. I have a full set of 5-33" Mickey Baja Boss tires & wheels that would look awesome on the Cherokee (post-lift + adapters).
That would have been sweet! Long time since we last spoke, hope you guys are doing good! Last I remember, the black JK was gone and replaced with something new correct?
@@JKGearandGadgets Bought Becky a '24 Rubicon w/Xtreme Recon pkg (Black, of course). 2" lift, 35s 4.56 gears & full float rear axle. Loaded with all of the electronic & safety bells & whistles too. We salvaged all of the JK build parts that survived the crash. The Baja Boss tires only had 650 miles on them when the Jeep was totaled. They are in my shed. I even have an unopened box of upper & lower control arms from Metalcloak that I was going to put on that weekend. 😐I already have a set on my JK.
Yep, my next video will have a lot of XJ work in it, full budget lift kit install! I bet more than 65% of people will skip through the build work and only watch the filler. Crazy how things have changed over time. People want a mix of projects, discussions, fast paced work, slow meticulous work, social interactions, entertainment, knowledge, build completion etc, all in one convenient 20 minute free video. Hard to appeal to everyone and still positively impact a few... TLDR, welcome to this weird modern era! Hopefully you enjoyed the video, a full encompass of the few days during which i worked on the XJ Build.
@@JKGearandGadgetsAt the time I thought they rode fine, but after a 6 weeks and a few light trail rides the old leads sagged even more. I switched to full packs and it rode noticeably better. Also the leafs suck to work on and I cursed myself for having to do it twice to save a few bucks. Got the IRO 3.5" for about $350.
1st: Love the content on your channel. Started watching back when you were building your JKU, binge-watched the TJ build, and like the budget-friendly ideas. 2nd: This constant jump between sentences is making the video almost unwatchable. Its too jarring and distracts from being able to focus on the content and what you are doing. Please just go back to a smooth video. I don't care if it takes a minute or two for you to walk two paces, that is more natural.
Unfortunately i cant make everyone happy :/ But this style of video editing keeps the average viewer watching longer, as seen from analytics on my channel
Bro 12:05 was hilarious! Got me! 🤣🤣

Full refresh on the JKU sounds cool. It’s the OG after all
Mike Dobbs Off Road Addiction sure has blown up!
Love you're keeping the XJ a simple driver build.
I’m trying to sell my TJ and am going to do a budget build clean XJ. So happy you started this as it’s keeping my motivated.
That is one great looking Ram truck. And it really needs to be on a set of 35s.
Omg thank you for roasting Ricky! 🤣🤣 Punk deserves it for all the times he makes fun of us on videos! You're welcome at the shop anytime bro 😎
Any time!🤣
Finally back home 🙌🏼
I liked this style video. Looking forward to seeing the lift on the Xj

I know I know, but hard to focus on one specific vehicle type.
Plan on lifting my xj 3 inches next year ,
My favorite Jeep by far , 4.0 are bulletproof
Ben. Talk to Rob at offroad addiction for your truss your talking about.

I saw the cross bar race come over my you tube was wondering if you raced or whether that they your class.
Love the XJ!
When those old springs sag, I highly recommend Old Man Emu Australian steel springs

Pretty cool stuff.
I had a 84' wagoneer v-6/2.4 selec- trac transfer case.
Boy did that thing wheel just about anywhere.
I’d like to see a race Jeep / camping Jeep combo build. How do we combine the best aspects of Jeep racing with Jeep camping.

BTW, I can't believe how big the girls have gotten.
Seems like my dog at5:45
From #1 to 100 dang it
Huh?
@@JKGearandGadgets last time I was the first viewer, now I’m a victim to 99 others…😂😂😂
Good’ll 235/75r15s, my 2004 TJ came with 215s. The 235s were the “aftermarket” upgrade….😂
I dunno if you edited this video or had someone else do it, but it definitely has a different vibe. I like it!
DIY Fab Truss video
Looking forward to watching this :0)
XJ❤
Awesome
How did I miss that you had a YJ? Mine works insanely well spring over and 2" lift springs on 40s.
That about the TMR Dana 60 Simple Front Truss?
It takes till 7:21 to actually get to the XJ build then it only lasts till 16:16. The rest is filler

I would say add-a-leaf is not budget friendly if you change it out to full leafs after a few months. Biggest waste of money I ever made.
Disliked them that bad?
