- We went to Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun during COVID. It’s an adults only all inclusive resort in Mexico. The beach was amazing! The pool bar didn’t disappoint. And the food was really good. There was even a monkey.

Great video you guys. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S
I’m not sure about ramps. But they have elevators.

We have not stayed at that Excellence resort. But Maroma beach is beautiful.

Iguanas will be at all Mexico resorts. Just give them fruit.

Hi there! Curious to know what month you went? The water looked amazing… trying to decide when to book since the seaweed is so bad in certain months. I don’t see any on the beach in your video
It was in April. But the seaweed is always a chance.
i went last September in the height of the pandemic and this Resort is very safe and the trip was wonderful and we both rated this the best Secrets we’ve been too so far

I see you've been to both Maroma and Akumal, what is your preference? I'm so torn in planning our honeymoon.
I liked the snorkeling at Akumal better. But Maroma is easier to get around. And it’s beach is prettier. Can’t go wrong with either.
Just saw your other video about akumal. If you had to pick, which one did you like better?
I liked Akumal better because I like to snorkel. My wife liked Maroma better because the restaurants were closer together. But both are awesome.
Do you rent a car when you are in the area? Or is it better to take an Uber or taxir from Cancún to Playa Maroma?

Good afternoon from Spain, we are your followers. I have seen that you visited several hotels that we are considering choosing for our honeymoon. Among them Secrets Maroma. What was your favorite of all in Riviera Maya? Thank you.
You can’t go wrong with Secrets Maroma for a honeymoon. Another choice would be Unico. Secrets Maroma has a slightly better beach. Unico has slightly better food.
Secrets Akumal would be a third choice. If you like to snorkel, it’s great right off the beach. All three are excellent choices.

We haven’t been to Mochxe, but Maroma was slightly better than Akumal. Unless you like snorkeling. Akumal had amazing snorkeling.

How tight are the dining venue evening dress codes? Could a man get by with dark jeans with no rips? Or khakis? Casual elegant is a new term for me.

We’re going in October for our honeymoon! Hoping that the world is a bit calmer by then in regards to the pandemic.
Did you feel at all a bit unsafe with all the crowded people? How strict is the mask policy when indoors throughout the hotel?
Masks are required when going into restaurants. Employees wore masks at all times. We felt safe.
How was the weather in October when you went? We are looking at going October or November. Did you guys have a good time?
What do you mean when you say “preferred” ?
You can pay extra. This gets you access to the lounge with more selection of alcohol. And a few more things
They have a new Beach Club for preferred guest. The Beach Club offers a special breakfast and lunch menu as well as a bar. There is a huge fire pit with sitting areas. Just past the club you have access to a beach area for preferred guest. Your room will be in one of the 6 buildings closest to the beach. You also have daily access to the hydro therapy spa. Those are just a few things you get with a Preferred Room.
Do they have american beer? How far is it to downtown Playa Del Carmen?
I do not remember if they have American beer. Playa is about 30 minutes.
