Only noobs, misers and people who don't actually do art say stuff like this. Serious artists who understand the chemistry between paper texture, gsm, binders and pigments know that the quality of paper, brushes and paints you use makes a world of difference in the final output. This is the 21st century, nobody needs to be drawing on leaves and caves when there's a myriad of tools to choose from. People who are actually skilled at art know this

For me, if I want to create more shades with the primary colors, poster colors work better than watercolors in it and I personally like poster colors in my paintings and If I add more water to poster color it gives some texture of Gauche. Being an artist I would say poster colors are nice.
@@shubham_M7777 Well, I might not be the right person you asked it from as I draw realism with graphite, charcoal or colored pencils. I tried painting portraits but it didn't work. First of all you need a thick sheet specialized for paintings. The regular drawing sheets acquire an unwanted texture that spoils the look of art when you add water to the page. If you have a canvus or better sheet, I suggest you starting with water colors as they are cheaper and made for beginners.

Since the artwork done for graphic design, posters and animation were scanned or photographed for reproduction, they didn't have to be lighfast. So they used the cheaper poster colors to cut cost. Well I think that water colours are good if u want to do shading with pencils colours on a painting because when I use them I can do shading with pencil colours and alcohol markers are also like watercolour but Incase u want to do painting on canvas and u don’t have acrylic colours so u can use Poster colours Edit: I don’t know why I said all that it came in my mind and I just wrote it😂
