I've been watching "beginner" watercolor videos for over a year (off and on) and so far you're the ONLY one that's aptly described and shown the SMALL details and how to correct it. You've just corrected a lot of my misunderstanding and confusion in one short video, and I deeply appreciate it
Even if you do primarily pencil or ink, I highly recommend learning color. It will make you a better artist. A great art teacher Harold Speed said that one should learn drawing and painting together as they both reinforce one another. Over time, I completely agree with this statement.
yess water colour tutorial, i picked up watercolour for school a while back but no tutorial was ever fun enough for me to actually pay attention to it lol, thank you Marcel!
Yes! I was going to buy some water colors for a drawing I want to paint, and this came out just in time! Now, I can not only draw like a sir, I can paint like one too 🖤
Your tutorials are amazing!!! Thank you for the watercolor tutorial, it helped a lot. I can’t believe how much work you put into your videos just to simply translate it for us! Thank you so much for your helpful tutorials!
Omg i have seen people us water colors before and I tought it would be difficult to color with.I have alot of paint that I don't use because I don't know how to use them. But now I see that it take alot of practice to get used, to color with paint or water colors. I really love drawing and I mainly draw on phone since irl it's difficult to.But your channel has help me alot thank you so much! I would love to continue seeing videos like this😄😁🎊♥️
I've learn alot from draw like a sir.. i made some art that i wasnt able to bc i had 0 knowledge on drawing stuff.. thanks to him i now know how to make proper artwork.. still at senior high :3
Thank you so much for making this video! Though my professional art over the past several decades has been primarily in pastels, I work and play in every media I can get my hands on, learning as I go. I can't quite say I'm self taught because I have gratefully made use of the tutorials created and shared so generously by other artists such as yourself. I may not need every step of a tutorial, but it ses like I nearly always find at least one precious nugget or gem of useful, interesting or inspiring information. I want to be sure you know how much I appreciate the time and hard work you put into these. I'm looking forward to watching all of them.
There are many points that I forgot or hard to make into words, but you managed to compress it so well. Thank you so much! Also, the hot and cold paper part really useful as I don't find it anywhere else...
I must say D.L.A.S is the only UA-camr who give tutorials with memees. Which are very useful, informative and funny. Edit: Congrats on 160k subs, u deserve way more doe
Bro tell me are you angel or what? How did you know I need tutorial? I mean I just brought watercolor yesterday and I didn't know how to use it and now u post tutorial Such a life savior (◕ᴗ◕✿)
I love how you explain things with touch of humor. I like your work and as someone who planned to start their own channel, I feel how you share the scripting and animation taking long time to create make this video more relatable. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to create and share this tutorial! :>
Thanks for this great tutorial. I think it's the best one on watercolour I have seen so far. Especially the paint along part is something I really liked.
this was so good ,i love all mediums ,watercolor made me fall in love,i have painted 28 years i am never bored,i love to buy 15ml tubes and create my own pallettes, thank you i just found and subscribed today
This was a wonderful video!! Perfect tutorials! And I am going to try to follow along with your painting when I get a chance! ❤ Awesome job as usual Marcel! Thank you so much!!
my ability to read Cyrillic is a bit rusty, and my English isn't too great, but I believe that the box says: "Nevskaya Palitra" and the small script says Saint Petersburg so you should just be able to google that and it should show up
Awesome! Very entertaining and informative video! I recently just found your works across the platforms and am going on a binge doing some catching up. Haha. Great stuff!
10:31 - That really depends on what you're trying to achieve. Rather than "JUST" a look, it has to do with atmosphere. If its just art then yeah, go for (JUST) a look. If it's for a story, then it has to do with what you're trying to convey. Dark cave? Halloween Scene? Conveyed drama transending emotion through panels? Hey, its what I used to use it for a long time ago. Back in 95, All I had to use was Mechanical Pencils (to lay out drawings or show contrast between) , Pilot Pen (lines or foreground), Watercolor (for the background), and used markers or map colored pencils for anything moving or mostly people in the foreground). For special effects?: I used black light markers and or neon highlighters. And that was my story of the early 90s. one of the first methods to mimick cartoon/anime works of the professionals. Watercolor was my favorite medium as a kid. Start light, then go dark. Evade whites, (unless you don't care if you use White Out as a highlight (which is more defined than paint itself). For purpose bleeding you can use a napkin to force dry rather than relying on a hot blow air dry. Works for soft blends. I used to use my own version of what I called (home elamination) where I used super clear sealing tape to lay over my finished art and cut the edges off to seal my artwork within itself. (Layer line by laid layer line (horozontally).
You seriously got me hooked on watercolour, I've been watching this video ever since it came out and it's sad that there aren't anymore, i would really really like to learn more about colour theory and watercolour specifically from you in videos. Too bad I may be the only one who would like that 😅😅
i cant make you understand in words how much you have helped me so far in my drawing journey ,Marshmallow .Whenever i watch your videos it gets me laughing and feel very smart in drawing at the same time!! I just wanna thank you very much for your videos, by Darshil to our 1 and only Marshmallow
thanks a lot this really helped. you're really carrying me through my art journey. ever since I found you (don't know the exact year, but I've seen every artist's opinion. so I guess at least 5 years) so thanks.
