I love your wonderful in-depth videos! I would only sew out of necessity, watching you I have found a love of sewing! You are truly a joy to watch! Thank you!
The 3D shield mask is my favorite. I have made several for myself. I use them in my classroom and my students tell me that they can hear and understand me a lot better when I wear the shield masks versus more traditional masks. I did change how the elastics are attached. I have them attached at the top and chin piece so that it goes over my ears. I was also able to let my son use one of them for his doctor appointment, and we just needed to adjust the ear elastics.
I enjoy watching your videos, Tim. You explain everything so well that it's easy to make your projects, especially the masks! Thank you! I've made many different mask styles, but I haven't been satisfied. I plan to try your 10 out of 10 mask. I'm hoping it will be my favorite, too.
Congratulations on your new home! The view from where you’re sitting is beautiful. My favorite mask is the vertical pleated one. Thanks for the informative video. Tfs
What a great view! Congratulations on your new place. Thank you for this video. I think I'm going to give #s 14 or 15 a try. I just can't make up my mind.
First of all congratulations on your new home! I'm a little jealous of that view. ;) I bought the template for the #7 mask and I can't even tell you how many I have made for friends & family. Presently I have four of them, in different fabrics, that I use all the time. Definitely my fav of all time. I did make #8 but I feel I get more coverage and more room with #7. As always, thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Love this video ! So helpful to see the masks all together and get your opinion on what works and doesn't work and why. I don't have a sewing machine so that makes things a little more time consuming for me sewing little stitches by hand. I have some material waiting to turn into a better mask than I have already made but haven't been able to decide on which one to go for. Very helpful video ! Thank-you from Southern Ontario Canada
Thanks again. I have made too many masks for many people. I made two sizes for my grandchildren and they either grew out of them or lost them or worn them out. I am tired. BUT I lost my favorite and while I see similar patters, I can't figure out which one I used. So here we are approaching two years and I am still making masks grrrrr. I appreciated you review and I have made a couple of masks according to your specs. What is clear and hard is that the best mask fits your (or my) face the best. In the hospital, where my daughter works in the ER, they had to do a fit test to determine which M95 they would wear when exposed to COVID, which at the height of the pandemic and even now is almost everyday. So I continue on my quest for the perfect mask for my husband and me. You videos are a help in considering things.
Congratulations on your beautiful new home! My favorite mask is the Side Pleated Mask because we have big cheeks☺️and I like to put my "Turtle" inside the mask for better breathing, as I have asthma. I have made at least five styles of your masks and they are all awesome. Thank you for your helpful tutorials and for inviting us to your new home and I love the view.
I think I've followed along and made them all (but that first one you showed). My adult daughter just started a day program and has to wear a mask all day (I send her off with two fresh masks each day). Her favorite is is your 3D Shield design. My favorite is the side pleat you recently did.
Thank you, this review was very helpful.i have been wearing the no special cutting mask mostly, and my husband prefers your original 3d mask from your template. I will try making and wearing the vertical pleat and side pleat masks because of this video.
Awesome video and just what I needed to figure out what mask was best. I’ve been recently making the side pleat masks and love your tutorials. I was not surprised that it was a favorite as well as the 3D ones. Thank you so much!
which styles have a filter pocket? Or can be adapted to add one? Thanks. I love your videos, it's easy to understand the steps, and no distractions like music, off topic chatter, etc. I have ADHD, so it's hard enough to stay focused. With your videos, I don't have that problem.
Thanks for this. I've made several masks from your batwing tutorial. Are you still making templates for that? I didn't see them on your website. Thanks!
I still like my batwing masks. I cut pieces out with pinking shears, faster than cutting out v shapes. And darts are straight cuts so I can match sides. I took them to my local family history library and all the adults tried one went around telling each other how much they like them. I hate the horizontal pleat ones because it is too hard get the pleats to be evenly spaced. The shield one looks like a jock strap. I do like the vertical pleated one you showed, but again I don't like doing pleats. Great job of giving us so many varieties to choose from.
I like the vertical the 3d the side pleats and the single strap shape but I use the elastic around the ears. I wear my masks with a chain attached so I don’t have to be touching it when removing or replacing so it hangs around my neck. I like your videos. I make a lot of masks and try them out before recommending
Hi Tim I discovered your mask making segments this morning, been a seamstress for a long time so you have some great examples there some of which I have also made. I am definitely going to try the one that you folded in the corners of this morning but…… As a nurse for 35 years I need to tell you people should never be wearing their mask down under their chin! If not wearing it across their nose and mouth for protection of all of us and themselves it needs to be off their face not under their chin where they are then breathing up the bacteria that has been captured on the outside of that mask if any! Sorry had to say it every time I see someone do that I just shutter! Please do not just drop your mask down under your chin so you can breathe up everything you were trying to protect yourself from in the first place lol and thank you for all you are doing…
I’ve also made the zipper masks that allows me to sing very audibly by just unzipping a little way and allows me to drink using a straw while wearing in a crowd
I wear hearing aids, and the elastic around the ears is very annoying cos it pulls my hearing aids out...... thank you Timothy, im going to make me a couple of those ones. cheers....
I'm trying to figure out some good designs for children. Done a lot of Jesse Fit masks, but they don't fit right on someone so small. And some children's cheeks are as big as their noses...
I knew I loved you from the first five seconds of the first video I watched, and I've watched several now. I almost never sew, and I'm not a crafter at all, but I am a teacher who masks all day every day, and I think that's a niche market that you could tap into if you wanted to mass-produce masks. My major complaint with all my masks is that they hurt my ears. fog my glasses, suck into my mouth and require constant readjustment. If I had washable masks in badass but middle school friendly designs (rather than cutesy shit) that attached around my head without requiring tying (curly hair misery), I would be eternally grateful.

You are my favorite person who teaches sewing. Thank you!

Thank you. I want to make some of the Japanese and the no-template that I saw your tutorials from recently. The comparison of all of them is helpful.
Great video. Thank you for all the options and ratingthem. I like that you describe why you rated them as you did. Thank you!

Thanks for the comparison. I would like the one strap kind but what to do with hair?
I don't know. I don't have any hair! LOL
But it's a good question. If you do the "single elastic mask", then the elastic goes behind your neck and below your hairline.
@@timothytotten9409 🤭😂🤣 you're so funny!
Fredericks of Hollywood ... ha ha ha :D You crack me up! :D Hugs!
Lovely, i like several of them especially the ones that have more coverage to the face. Thanks for sharing!!!

I love your videos!!! Could you do a video about your favorite masks with filter pockets please?
That’s a good question. I’m working on one of those.

The modified bat Wong mask is what I’m sewing for grandkids for Christmas!

Our laser company is moving this month so we don’t expect to be selling templates until January.
Missed you and love your new home!
Hello Tim! Thanks for answering the question and saying what you liked and didn't like about all the masks.
I still like my batwing masks. I cut pieces out with pinking shears, faster than cutting out v shapes. And darts are straight cuts so I can match sides. We want to see the rest of your beautiful new home!
I like the vertical the 3d the side pleats and the single strap shape but I use the elastic around the ears. Can you design a mask that will fit the Asian nose? Seriously, I've tried so many styles but still unable to find the perfect fit. Thank you.
I’ve also made the zipper masks that allows me to sing very audibly by just unzipping a little way and allows me to drink using a straw while wearing in a crowd
What kind of nose wires are you using? Love your masks….
I often use a garden staking wire from Dollar Tree stores (in the US). It’s a padded wire so I like it that way.
I wear hearing aids, and the elastic around the ears is very annoying cos it pulls my hearing aids out...... thank you Timothy, im going to make me a couple of those ones. cheers....
I do sing and record myself in a few masks that I’ve made and I could hear every word very clearly
I'm trying to figure out some good designs for children. Done a lot of Jesse Fit masks, but they don't fit right on someone so small. And some children's cheeks are as big as their noses...

Made this mask. It was so fast and simple to make but it slips down off the nose
Where are the links? I don’t see them below the video.

You should let persons know that switching from one side to the other should not be done unless it’s washed
