I love how she tells Sayaka to be careful with her wish but tells Madoka that if she can't come up with something to wish for cake (and yes I know why and it's pretty sneaky)
Yep, Mami knows someone else who tried to make a selfless wish and then it ended up horrifically backfiring. I think Mami understands that trying to make such a wish ironically seems to lead to the greatest suffering than being completely self serving with your wish.
Well technically, Madoka's wish was going to be to be able to help protect people like Mami does, so Mami decided that she could at least get something out of it. And she was getting quite ahead of herself.
@@heartbeast5678 Do double on what people have told you and what hits this big Rewatch Fridge Logic- The witch she fights here is Charolette, Nagisa Momoe's witch. This implies that Nagisa was a Magical Girl at one point. What was her wish? "I want to have the biggest most delicious cheesecake so I can share it with my mother before she dies."
I actually like Mami's English VA, maybe even more than the original. The English dub's Mami has a more maternal voice, which made this scene more intimate, in my opinion. This scene almost brought tears to my eyes. That is not something you would normally hear about a lot of English dubs.
I think the English cast of MM was actually quite well chosen. I won't say it's the best dub ever (THAT was Cowboy Bebop), but hey -- as dubs go, that's one of the good ones.
i like the original audio better but even in the eng dub, all the voice actors did so well! sayaka’s my favorite character and i honestly love both her jp and eng voices, i couldn’t pick between them.
I feel like people should really watch this scene and listen to Mami's words when they try to say she was tricking them into becoming magical girls or glamourizing it. She was persistent yes, but she made it perfectly clear how dangerous and painful the experience was. In the scene in her apartment, Mami literally says word for word , "Death is part of the deal". She was being completely transparent with them, showing them the good and bad parts of being a magical girl and leaving the decision up to them. When she tells Madoka to wish for a cake, she was mainly just teasing her, because Madoka said her only wish was to be able to help people and be proud of her life, which she could already do as a magical girl, so she should try ti get something for herself while she's at it. Mami even said it was a once in a lifetime deal as well, why would would she seriously want Madoka to use that on a cake? I'm not sure how so many people missed that.
Btw I think Mami didn't really want them becoming magical girls like her, she knows that becoming a magical girl is very suffering in her new life that she feels forced into, so she confided herself to Madoka at this scene. Because she didn't want them have become the exact same tragedy like her.
people think that? i was skeptical of mami at first but after how she told sayaka to really think about *why* she’s making her wish plus this scene, it really made me feel bad for her. honestly, after watching the magia record anime (i didn’t have a chance to play the game) and playing madoka portable, i began to appreciate her even more, and sympathize with her loneliness. she’s my favorite character besides sayaka
I think this speech, and Madoka's ultimate Wish and words are very important to consider when weighing what Homura did in Rebellion. Personally, I think Homura lost sight of why she loved Madoka, because she was a pure person who simply wanted to help. Homura's dragging her away from that I think will lead to very big problems in the future. Because I don't think Madoka will ultimately be happy with being stuck in a cage (as Homura seems to be attempting to keep any and all harm away from her to an extreme degree) because it's in her nature to want to help people and love them.
Madoka nearly escapes her grip at the end of Rebellion. If they do another movie, you can bet Madoka will slip out of Homura's cage before too long. Homura even admits they might end up being enemies.
2:48I just realized that this explains why they turned the Nightmare near Hitomi's house into a cake in Rebellion. It looks like they got their cake after all.
I'm a big 6'3" Black guy and when I saw this for the first time I literally almost cried. Man the violin in the background too, it all got to me.... Mami just wanted a friend so she wouldn't be lonely 😭😭😭
I don't dislike the Japanese dub for this show, which is also very good. But, strangely, I also love the English dub -- the actors all sound so committed to their roles. The only one that maybe doesn't measure up to her Japanese counterpart is Lauren Landa as Kyōko, and even here I'd say she is quite (sometimes wonderfully) effective (but she was competing with Ai Nonaka, who is a master of this craft...). All the others seem to me at least as good, and maybe better.
Personally, Miami in this scene gave legitimately good advice, even if that cake joke was a little out of taste considering how much Madoka looks up to Mami
crazycupcake 1448 i don't do anime clips anymore. Also, it's very risky to do so because of the whole copyright thing. If you really want to watch Rebellion, then you can watch it on other sites.
My problem is that I prefer this dub to the original dub but I prefer the original musical scoring for this scene. That happens when they remix Sayuka's fight with Elsa Marie too. I love the updated visuals but would have preferred they kept Decretum as the score in the film adaptations
***** because I want to know why they dislike it. It seems kinda cowardly to me. I don't mind if they disable the replies. I just want to know there opinion on the video whether it's a good or stupid reason.
***** Worry not, pal. Nowadays, people just dislike things for no reason at all. Internet is a cold, cruel place, but there is also many good things to see. Live on.
Explain to me this: why the hell would they dub the two recap movies and (seemingly) have no plans to dub Rebellion? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
i love this dub O W O Mami is also my favorite character but IM SORRY MAMI I CANT SHIP YOU AND MADOKA HOMURA WILL MAKE SURE MY PARENTS NEVER MET IM SORRY MAMI ; _ ;
Yes the dub has been rerecorded because I notice they change/add some scripts, acting got better, characters' tone change a bit. Beginning of the movie, you might not know the difference(for me I knew it changed), but you can tell especially in the part when madoka threw sayaka's soul gem. I might make a comparison video someday.
I love how she tells Sayaka to be careful with her wish but tells Madoka that if she can't come up with something to wish for cake (and yes I know why and it's pretty sneaky)
SilenceGlaiveMaster Would you tell me why?
Sorry, Because she doesn’t want to fight alone and knows Madoka has higher powers (as shown in the park scen)

The manliest thing you could do is cry for someone who feels like they have no one to turn to.
What does you being black have to do with it
When your black some people will stereotype you to be tough and strong
They're dubbing the movies.
I want dubbed Rebellion.
Want it. WANT IT. WANTWANTWANT.
I really hope they dub the cake song!!
Dubbed Rebellion is this year.

Wow! This re-dub is amazing! I like how they changed the script a little bit, and the characters sound much more emotional than the original :D xx
Mami seems to be getting ahead of herself here.
Now I know DAMN WELL you didn't make that joke ✋😭 OUT OF POCKET LMAO
Omgggggg
Christine Marie Cabanos as Madoka is just perfection~👌

MADOKA MAGICA MOVIES HAS BEEN DUB!!!!!!!(why am I even excited? It's pretty much a recap and a redub)
Misaka Mikoto OK!
I was happy about it too, but it would of been better if they dub rebellion other than the recaps. But hey, better than nothing I guess.
Nipah EveryDay will you upload rebellion english dub i love it and no one else will upload it so will you plz???
