That is maybe the evilest thing I've heard of .. right after the father who threw his biological 8-year-old daughter off a 60-foot bridge to her death because his ex-wife got engaged. Just picked her up dropped her over the edge and got back in the car and drove away. Those two are the evilest.

For all we know, they shot the mom and stepdad first, then shot Becky in the foot to keep her from running, then strangled or beat her to death before lighting her on fire to hide evidence.

The closing speeches to the jury by both lawyers give an interesting insight into how they believe the sequence of events took place.

If me and my family lived so isolated, and with no cell phone coverage, I would at least have 2 guard dogs and a gate. Minimum. Then I would have cctv cameras and some weapons and teach my daughter to shoot. Then after that I would I would have electric fences all around the house and warning signs. Then i may feel a lil more comfortable living there. If they couldnt have accessed the house, this would not have happened. The dogs would have given the first warning signal when they were half a mile away.

I remember when these murders happened. I grew up in the Coachella valley and was friends with Robert Pape’s brother, who actually just recently passed in a fire.

I was in Indio county jail with smith while he was on trial. You never would think he was capable of that evil crime. He came across a good guy very normal guy. Just shows some times good people do horrible things. When u do something like that no excuses you have to pay the piper. Very sad for everyone.

It's not hard for a psycho/sociopath to deceive---THAT is their emotional MO.....and how they manipulate others.
Especially after committing such a heinous act--3! murders...you should expect them to perform and conduct themselves as "decent' as possible--and esp bec they were already accused and KNOW eyes are watching them.
These deviants in society (now more than 10% of pop) are EVERYWHERE....thanks to Age of Narcissism & bad parenting.

The things people suffer through is mind boggling. The things people do to others is jaw dropping. The only way this grieving family can move forward is to put these two animals where they belong. That won’t bring the three souls back but will help a bunch in bringing a solid step forward for this precious family. Prayers for all those suffering this great loss.

I'm an investigative podcast junky and almost every single case I've listened to a season about mentions how 48 hours did an episode on the case but it was wildly inaccurate and that dramatization seems to be the goal rather than accurate information. Listening to a season on this case right now!

If you are a teen and having relationship issues, talk to your parents, don't dismiss stuff. Your parents have been around the block and know what to do. Don't think you can handle stuff on your own. Bc you can't. Everyone needs someone...to help. Don't be embarrassed, or ashamed. It may take some effort to get out your words, but tell them what was said and done and when...write it down. And parents, you need to take action!

Yes!! Great advice if anyone’s reading this. This is extremely important. And write it down! It could be dates or something petty/small. Mental notes aren’t enough... you never know how people are, especially when there has been some sort of relationship. Cruel people have patterns and things are done out of spite.
