Mad props to you for keeping the minitruckin lifestyle alive. I have noticed the trend is all but gone in my area. Kids only want a diesel truck or anything lifted nowadays. When i was a kid, nothing was cooler than a custom painted minitruck on some billet seventeens sittin right on the ground. I drop everything I drive, including a 6/7 drop on 05 z71 crew cab, and 4x4 still functions perfectly. Keep it going man!!
Jason Sturdivant I live in Newark Ohio easy of Columbus. All the mini trucks in my town are either my family or friends. Trying to get it alive again 👍
" In a trailer park" Love it. If you want something... Go Get It. Nice work Bud.
Great video man! Your attention to details and how angles should be are right on!
Thank you very much
stumbled on to your video to get ideas for my 46 ford rat/street rod build. i want to bag it front and back. your video helped. thanks
I'm not a fan of lowered trucks I'm like them lifted... but I do admire this guy for putting the video together and working on his truck. If you ask me it actually looks pretty good
Thank you very much for the compliment
Right on. I have an 81 Toyota and your videos are spot on. Helping me a lot. Thanks alot! Bag 'em and drag 'em. Mini trucker for life!!
I like your mind set. Thats how me and my lil bro get down when we work on my truck we're backyard hot rodders. Lol "anything can be done if you want it to be done, unless you live in an apartment complex"
This is making me excited to get going on bagging the rear of my truck! Sweet progress, can't wait for more!
props for doing that in your driveway. Great job and thanks for sharing.
Thank you
"So there it is home made 4 link, in a trailer park. See, when you want to you can there is no think as I can't, unless you're living in an apartment complex and for you guys I'm sorry" LMFAO!!!
Good one Lawrence.... =]
+Edgar Salazar haha thanks I do feel bad though ;)
I don't subscribe to many peopel at all but I forsee your bagging instructional videos as being a god send for my 83 s10 longbed rat project I am working on. THANK YOU FOR BEING SOOOO DETAILED!!!
Your very welcome thanks for the sub
+Lawrence Duarte This is a very noob question but how do you make sure everything is aligned the right way before the welds? I get the pinion angle but front to back and to make sure there isnt an angle on the axel.
Thank you so much for the video I really appreciate it cuz I'm trying to bag my 08 Chevrolet and I needed help and you really help me with watching this so God bless you and your family thank you so much for the video I wish I could talk to you for helpful tips appreciate it so much
I love that Yoda body style. Probably the best lines of any truck for lowering.
man I love it you have your wife helping ty for your vids ty
Great video simple easy to understand how to do a 4link
Thank you
Curious as to why you did not not make your links adjustable?
+Brett Valentino simple , money
thanks bro.. i was having a hell of a time with top link placement.
At first I thought another 4 link with panhard lol but you did it right thanks man I can't even believe the stuff people do sometimes.
Thank you
why can't you just leave the leaf springs mounted until you get everything tacked in? Seems like it would cut a lot of the measuring.
Coming along nicely, can't wait for the finished product!
thumbs up from me bro I have a 93 isuzu pup and can't wait to slam and bag it. keep uploading I can't wait to see your mini when it's complete
Thanks man i have had my 51 pickup c- noche and 4 link i did not like the way it was done .but after seeing your video i know i cas do it my self thanks bro;; 51 chevy grounded,
im a diy kind of love your work i do the same thing but mine is for 4x4 s but overall love your work .thumbs up .
Thank you very much for the compliment I try to tell people that all the time lifted and lowered is pretty much the same thing just in opposite directions a lot of the same parts get used
Your a cool dude. I need to learn a ton it looks like. I'm gunna do a 52 chevy pickup with a MustangII up front. Just collecting tools just about there..
awesome work, glad its not causing to much trouble lining things up.
pretty good video. I could never work outside. The weather is too much of a factor. ahaha. Pros bro. looks good
So.. The triangulated 4 link dose not need the pan bar?? becouse of the angle of top bars keeps the axle side travel to a min? But a straight 4 link whould need a pan bar? I like ur set up bud.
Yes
Hey guy :) Just stopped by and watched a couple of our videos :) Thought i would let you know that i enjoyed them both immensely.
I am about to undertake a restore/customize of a 1981 Toyota Hilux (pickup).
Thanks :)
that's so awesome man... I wanna do the same to my 89 Toyota too
great videos +Lawrence Duarte , definitely giving me some ideas for my project
+Alec Ojard think you glad I can help
I know I’m a bit late, but how did the Harbor freight welder handle the job? Welds still holding? Did you mod the welder at all?
No mods and yes the welds did hold but I look back at this and learn from it. For another 100 bucks I could have had the 220 wire welder from harbor freight and had much stronger welds.
I love the build, id like to bag my car thats running a torsion and leaf spring suspension set up as well.
would you have an opinion on airlift company's slam air for leaf springs? if theyre actually an adjustable air suspension ride setup or mainly just for load support.
+Riffrshittr is he wanting to put air ride then what you would need to do is have a suspension that eliminates the leaf springs in ads that airbag the only other option would be to add helper springs which is an airbag on the leaf
Looks great! Have you bagged the front yet? I couldn't find a video for it. Doing a yota clip on my Ranger chassis. Haa, your apartment comment cracked me u
my landlord said no exesive repairs on vehicles gave me shit when i pulled bed and c notched and dropped truck do want to bag it but have to save up for bag kit or get a few pcs at a time i drive a 94 f150 long bed i dropped it 4 front 9 rear originally 7. rear but after stereo system install it went another 2 inches if i bag min i want to do parallel 4 link bag over axle theres a bolt on kit so i dnt have to weld it to frame jst axle trying to keep truck reversible so if it ever had to go back to stock suspension for any reason i am in pa state there car laws here are kinda strict with mods
Damn it looks great... Cant wait to see it finished..im sure ur subs r prolly jus as excited or more than u r at this point lol
Did you remove the trans cross member?
Looks great
I have a question ?
When you drop it do you have to move the diff down alittle for the driveshaft ?
Cause when i lowered mine im driving at about 50mph + and i let go of the gas and it makes a loud noise idk what it is but like i have the 2 piece driveshaft i moved it up from the middle where they connect under the cab and now it only does that noise from 70mph + do you think i need to move it more up or move my diff down alittle?
Might want to check your carrier bearing.
Lawrence Duarte
This is a standard cab truck.Carrier bearings are only used on extended cab trucks or 4wd's.Nice comment though.
Pinion bearing went from it's being "moved down"which is just shimming the axle which is a metal shim to go between the leaf and the saddle . To make it achieve the stock pinion angle . You dont do this and you will burn through pinion bearings prematurely.
Should look up pics of my bodied yota the tank set up is awesome cause later I can just swap it out for a fuel cell and not move nothing
Bro ..how did u measure to make sure ur rear end is centered .......
Looking pretty slick there brosef
awsome! is that a harbor freight welder. I've been debating on how to do my 95 mighty max. tks for doing videos it's a lot of help.
thank you yes it is and you're very welcome I'm glad to be able to help as many people as I can with what knowledge I do have
+Lawrence Duarte Which amperage?
nice dude, what did you use to fill the link ends to hold the bolt centered? bushings? thanks man.
+axle54 yes these ends come with bushings and a sleeve that goes in them.
Looks awesome !! Can't wait to see the finish
Great help man, for a first timer like me. , thanks so much.
+Willie Hofer Your welcome
Good vid and great info ! Keep them coming.
thats a nice trailer park looks like a campground site.
Dude you and your lady are so awesome.
Thank you but she is my x wife now and I am back married to my daughter's mom now. But thank you for the compliment
I've seen a lot of that style break off at the rear housing, the best way is the traditional 4 link drag race style with the links parrallel with the frame and a panhard bar. Simple logic.
Never had a problem with my builds but thanks for your opinion and thanks for watching.
Do you happen to have a link to a kit like this? I've been looking and can only find adjustable kits
This was not a kit I built all of this so there is no link sorry.
Hello. I'm back!
Do you have any books or
" How to manuals" that i can order??!!! Share the info or any links .,,,,..... Thanks
Do you think I can just use leaf springs instead of links and weld air bags on top of the axel I already have the C natch
+pumas rb yes that can work
Thank you for your help
Great editorial on all your videos. I am in the works on doing my own homemade 4 link suspension.. Thanks again
are pan hard bars necessary on a 4link? also would a wishbone style upperlink be similar to a 4link?
Only on a parallel 4 link since u need to stop the side to side movement. Going triangulated like he has served the same purpose since the top bars are approx 30 degrees out to each side, should work nicely
did you Reweld the bed frame?
Where’d you buy these
I also have a toyota 89 2wd and what did you do with the e brake cable
Cut it off
where you live man? Do you have any flatbed experience might be able to offer you a better job?
hey man got a 97 s10 fixen to bag got any tips
hoping you could help me im redoing my full size Chevy that was bagged with a Texas two link that was needing alot. I am installing a parallel 4 link and doing my own bar behind the axle with the hanging dogbones so it will be a 6 link technically. but as far as angling your bars, I've heard mixed answers, with parallel links you want both bars parallel at ride height correct?? and I also heard that you want your bars mounted on the axle above and below the axle tubes also correct? in my own mind this makes the axle move up and down without any forward to rear movement (maybe a tiny amount but in noticeable) and also keeps the pinion from rolling at all... let me know if this is wrong... I know race cars angle upper links so that the bars spread open as they connect to the axle to help with body roll... but I just heard different stuff on bagged trucks...
thanks alot If u can help.
great vid btw. I agree anyone can D.I.Y. most projects if they commit their selves
I agree with all that your saying but the opinion angle will change dew to the fact that the axle will not roll but it will change the angle cause the drive shaft is going to change so yes do set the opinion angle at the ride height you will be at the most and you will be good you still need to triangulate the top or bottom bars to stop it from swinging to the left or right. I hope this helps let me know if I missed anything. thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching.
+Lawrence Duarte building my own watts link. but I thought you wanted the pinion to stay pointed the same angle throughout movement? your saying u want the pinion angle to change to offset the axle roll?
What I'm saying is from full list to completely laid out you have two parts that are making the pinion angle that is the axle at the pinion and the driveshaft meeting up with the pinion when both are moving they're going to offset each other so you have to find a happy middle at ride height so that you can travel without worrying about your pinion angle but when you're at the shows and your light out or your lifted all the way up you don't have to worry about paying him so much unless you're going to be dropping it down to drag then again you need to worry about pinion angle at those speeds
Trying it now really helpful thanks
You know some stuff, and have some skills.
I'd like to see a better looking finished product though. Now I know what happened with the gas tank. STill say you need a fuel cell, and need to fabricate a new bottom for the bed and clean up the appearance. The frame work looks great, it's a shame the finish product don't look as nice.
Hey budd you are you from i would like to do c notch on my 1991 nissan d21 se v6 extra cab im from phoenix az
I don't build or work on anyone else's bro I just show what I do. Check out www.rohdefabrication.com/
He can help you out.
@xxgamerx im not sure why every thing seems to be working fine.
hey bro been watching a few of your videos on baggjng your toyota, i was hoping you could help me out ive been researching alot and trying to understand more about the four link
+Belson Cielo I explain pretty much all there is to know in all the videos but what's your problem with them.
Lawrence Duarte i am planing to do a reverse four link. and i was prettt confident up until i heard you start talking about binding. what i was gonna is since my truck is dropped right now i was just gonna start welding up the links while all the stock suspension component on. you think i would be alright doing that?
+Belson Cielo that will work I did that with my first mini truck the only problem is the pinion angle once you drop it down to the ground or go any lower than a regular lowering kit the pinion angle will be very bad so once you're ready to weld adjust your pinion angle and do your welts onto the axle
lookin damn good bro always love watching the work you do should be sick
Arkansas and yes I agree love my truck.
Awesome man keep up the good work
its looking great man
Very nice job!!
Lookin good. Keep them coming.
Ever considered doing that on A Nissan 720?
I consider doing this for every mini truck I can get my hands on lol
cool vid man. keep us posted
@deranged731 lol thank you. and yeah look in the toyota playlist the video for the front is in there
heck yea great work man
@jesse Rayford im going to stick with the stock tank but thank you
What state u live in
Arkansas
@applehead562 took several measurements from the leaf spring mounts on the axle to various places on the frame also did cross patterns to get it as close to perfect as I could
Looks good!
@Greg Singleton Thank you and I'm pretty excited right now I might have you guys beat lol
Nice work.
Very helpful man thank you
+Martin Gonzalez your welcome
Ur personal opinion, whats better 4-link or Corvette independent rear suspension ????
I would say they are equal depending on how each is set up.
@xempt W me to it all lined up better than I thought. I can't wait to have the time to get the rest done
@eric andrade Thank you
With you doing that work in your driveway I bet you would build some sic shit in your own shop
I don't know but that would definitely be a dream I would love that thank you for the compliment
awsome vid.👍😀👍
Thank you
Thanks for the help..
Zero blue monsters!! My favorite!
No thanks I have a very good job and very comfortable when I am but thank you for the offer
Good job
Thank you
Wish you lived close to me would love to have you do my truck. :(
Awesomeness
"When you want to, you can. There is no thing as "I can't", Unless you live in an apartment complex, and for you guys, I'm sorry."
+spencer510z LOL I've actually heard of a couple guys that have built a minitruck in an apartment complex now
Nice bro
thank you bro
Do you got email ?
I know it's just tac welds your wife is doing but damn. I mean you're going to have slag to ground out as well as the entire tac after you get a real weld going. Any welding that has flux such as the flux core wire you are using must have the slag from such flux cleaned of before welding over the previous weld. do every time she stop and then hits it again you are causing entrapment of the slag. welding 101. grinder with wire will will knock it off easy. you got to have clean metal shit that holds the axel on a hot rod not the best to learn on. just saying. good luck with that
I almost forgot,👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️👍👍
@Joe Prouty thank you bro
@Bryan Honeycutt thank you I cant either
