    Here's a real tip from an old pro. When you have a stuck lure in current let some line out and let it float downstream. Close you bail and whip the rod, it will pull the lure from the back side. It doesn't work every time but will work more than not.

    Tip for rust as well, keep those silicone things found in new shoes, beef jerky, etc etc. and put them in your separate tackle boxes, silicone absorbs moisture (that's why they put them in shoes) and will dry your lures out (water causes the rust)

  • @xanderphipps181
    @xanderphipps181 7 років тому +1

    Another way to remove a snag is by reeling your line really really tight, and then hit the bale, works almost every time. if your fishing for smaller fish with a hook and bobber use 20 pound line and thin hooks so you and pull hard and the hook will bend and straighten out. usually you will lose you bait, but sometimes you can use the hook again if you bend it back with pliers.

    Separating your tackle out like that is a great idea, I go one further by taking empty ziploc bags out with me and my used and wet tackle each goes back into a separate ziploc bag. When I get home, I take them all out, wash and rinse them and once dry, they can be repaired if needed or put back into the right bag with the others.

    I've seen others do that rod trick to release a stuck lure. Usually works. You're not going to lose the rod because you have the line in hand from the reel to the lure.

      You you sure won’t loose it but you sure will break a $200 fishing rod.

      Live target hollow body frogs are arguably the best holly body frog on the market. That being said they are also fairly expensive.

      I use them and they walk fine and I get blowups however I haven't landed any since I'm still new to frogging

    An alternative to throwing your rod:
    Hold the rod a straight up( so fishing line is like a zip line) attach a weight to snap swivel and send weight towards lure

    What if when you throw your rod at your snagged lure it doesn't do anything then it's stuck down there and then your line breaks

  • @seanmckee9832

    Make sure you protect your rods with sleeves so you can use the rod as an arrow later
