Channel five is used for my retracts on my Avanti s v2. I have a Spektrum DX8 G2 I don’t have any switches left for reverse. Switch A retract B is SAFE/AS3X C FLAPS D RATES AILERON 😊F RATES ELEVATOR G RATES RUDDER H MOTOR CUT OFF. Switch I is a push button I plug and it goes from + 100 to -100 I plug the wire into channel 7 on the receiver and assign channel 7 to button I . The monitor on tx show going from +100 to -100 when I press the button but motor does not reverse.
According to the manual shipped with the model ( eurofighter 8s in my case) it is possible to set the reverse in 3 different ways, for example it also says it is possible to have the bottom 20% of throttle stick as reverse and top 80% as forward. Could you please show us how these work, as it does not seem to work as described in the manual.
I have a question on the way the receiver works. I am currently trying to mimic the receiver with an ESP32 and I can't get the reverse to work. What output does the receiver give to the ESC on that 4th yellow wire? Is it constant 5v the moment you switch it? I just wonder what the yellow reverse wire expects as a signal so I can replicate it. Thanks in advance!
Hi dear , very good video, Just want to know , if don't want to use reverse function , and want to use this type esc on prop version plane , can we use ???
Hi, Thanks for the video. ı am also using a futaba raido, but can’t get my Viper 90 to get into reverse mode. Do I need to do any update to the esc, or program it ? Thaks a lot
Thanks for the explanations. What I was looking for was how to make a mix of i.e. 80% reverse throttle on the momentary (Spektrum-Bind) switch. I was able to make it work but the motor was being reversed after. So I let it on a normal switch...
You go to mix setup. Mix throttle with a aux that you put your reverse plug in. Than select the bind button. Eventualy you will need to change the mix ratios that one click on the bind button puts it in reverse.
@@Reptielenfreak Hi and thanks! I did that but the radio read doing strange stuff. Or currents the direction of rotation. I after saw a Video of Brian Phillips in which he set up a digital switch too. I will see if that helps…. Thank you
Hi again @@Reptielenfreak :) Maybe I have done the mix: "Aux to throttle". Maybe that was the reason the direction of rotation was changing after I tested the switch...

hi, I bought the new f18 blu angels, the REVERSE I would like to understand if I can make it work on landing as a brake, and at what landing speed can I insert it. thanks
Good info but if you can make a video to add thruster reverse using with the Futaba T10J that would be helpful. I’ve been trying to make the thrust reverse on my 8S F4 phantom operational, took me a little bit but I stumbled across it.
You need an aircraft with an ESC like this to do thrust reverse. A normal ESC won't be able to do it it has to have a reverse feature which then becomes as simple as plugging the reverse lead from the ESC into an open channel on your RX, then assigning that channel with your TX to a 2 position switch
So what if you connect it all up and reverse no worries? Got this same kit bought from this store and got the reverse wire on channel 5 snx the switch just doesn't make it go into reverse.
Do the polarity of the magnetic field also change..? Will it not affect the esc thru eddy current because of the sudden change of magnetic field polarity, if it does..? Thanks..
Is it posible to use this newer ESCs in models like the Freewing 80mm A10... Or the AL-37 Airliner?... If so, could you please show us how to do that in another video. That would be a huge game changer for MotionRC and your products...🙏
Thank You Jesus!! Thank you soooo very nuch for asking that Question, I've been dieing to find out if that's possible being I can't get the Ailrons to work like spoilers on landings. That plane really uses up alot of pavement coming to a stop lol! Thanks
Of course you can. You can put it in any plane as long as you have the extra channel for the reverse lead. The hook up will be exactly the same as it is here. It's just an ESC, there is nothing model specific about it in anyway.
@@AntonioL1011 As long as you have one channel that you don't need to make the plane fly, lights come on, landing gear and flaps extend, yes. Any amount of channels are enough, as long as there is one left over when everything on the plane works. It's just an extra channel, programmed to a switch, that's all, just like the flaps, gear, lights, smoke pump, or anything else.
Plugged my thrust reverse wire into open channel 8. Set channel 8 to a switch on my transmitter. Model turned on. Throttle works, switch doesn’t reverse thrust. Even tested a different channel that I know works. Reverse doesn’t. This is on the brand new F-16 70mm v3.
Is it 100% certain what happens when activated at full thrust. I always use this exact switch at Futaba for capacity announcements. What would happen if I accidentally tapped it at Full Thrust ?
It is a great invention. But the other day on the first flight of my Cougar when I landed I rushed the runway and the reverse braked it effectively... but I released the reverse button before lowering the throttle stick and my new plane was catapulted towards some rocks! 😭. I will find a solution 🤔
The solution is be more conscious of that infamous REVERSE TRUST feature... I crashed a new plane due to that same mistake after a great smooth landing...After that I've never again committed the same mistake... Now I programed a really annoying audio switch chance voice that says REVERSE TRUST, REVERSE, REVERSE, REVERSE, REVERSE, REVERSE... Like 8 times after the switch is flipped...in that way before going full throttle for reversing, I'm certain that REVERSE TRUST is for sure actively engaged... 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Im here to tell you this doesnt always work. I have an f16 v1 and it will not no matter what i set the wing as a delta etc, it will not work with reverse. I managed with my Futaba 7C on channel 7 but with same receiver bound to my Futaba 14SG same channel 7, I haven't managed to assign to a switch reverse on and off. When ESC reverse cable is connected to receiver, motor goes permanently to reverse. I have to disconnect cable to resume normal thrust. eration
@@nevilleformosa6416 yeah thats exactly what mine does. For some reason futaba programming doesnt seem to work on older radios. Its not a deal breaker but its weird why it wont work. Yea I invented this 10 years ago. Noobyrc was me. All you need to do is get a double pull double throw switch mount it in a cardboard foam board or 3d printed peice. You take 2 wire from the 3 in your brushless and solder them into center of switch the always connected part. The othe poles you spilt 2 of your ESC wires one set going to one side of the swtch the other 2 you flip and connect to other side of the switch, then connect a servo to the swith to change the switch. All it it does is redirect the esc signals and it works fine.
Reversing the channel on my FrSky radio does not solve the problem of the ESC stuck in reverse. There are clearly some problems with the design of this ESC. The reverse function doesn't work with all radios.
rcinfo1197 remove the def cover on the bottom of the plane and reverse any two leads from the escape to the motor. Any leads will do because motor is three phase. This should solve the problem. I had this same problem with my Phantom 8s. I’m using a 14 channel super p beta flight elf’s rx and for some reason it too was stuck in reverse and reversing the channel didn’t help at all. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your input. I ended up moving the model over to a new FrSky transmitter with the same reversing setup I had on the old transmitter, and it now works. The only difference is I'm now using channel 7 for the reversing signal instead of channel 5 on the old radio. The reduced reverse signal endpoints are the same, around 80%.
