It's the first time I recall Rose being played by someone who is known as a dancer. Although, I know Vicki Lewis has played the part, and possible Donna McKencknie. The body language is different and creates a whole new dimension to Rose and the song.
Divine. Reminds me of my favorite Rose, the late Delores Gray who also played this number as though she was genuinely losing her mind....at least momentarily. Great ending.
I was lucky enough to see Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, Patti Lupone, Bette Midler and Imelda Staunton in MY opinion Imelda Staunton was the best Rose ever!!!!
Caroline est vraiment belle et joue bien et elle a une belle voix. Elle est cool cette femme à l âge qu elle a certaine sont aux oubliettes. Mais je comprends que l on oublie pas qu elle punch cette femme.
Vocally she's there. But whoever directed her (or didn't), has made this performance static and dissappointing. To stand in the same spot for all that time at the start is an F minus in Directing 101. Movement and song, especially in this piece, go hand in hand and they feed off each other. If she had moved at the get go, her performace would have gone thru the roof.
I absolutely love O'Connor but in this number it seems like everything was planned out, separate from the lyrics and their meaning, and over-rehearsed or, maybe, overperformed.
My God she is fabulous! AND ... I get to see her in the new L.A. ARTCO Theatre's MACK AND MABEL Feb. 16-18! WOWZA! xoxo P
Wow, that was fantastic! I've never heard of her!
She is absolutely one of the best stage performers alive.
She was incredibly as Mama Rose! A pure powerhouse and consummate performer as always!
I performed with her as young Tulsa when it was at the curve and she was so inspiring, kind and immensely talented. A true musical theatre legend
The best performance of mama rose I’ve watched!
Wow! That was wonderful. Her Garland approach nailed it.
Thank you for posting this... This entire performance should have been taped/orchestra is great and Caroline's Rose is first rate!!!
six years after the first post and I can't stop watching this....

Omg being patient actually pays off!!!! I'm so happy that there is footage of Caroline in Gypsy!!!! 💖💖
Excellent job Caroline Bravo 👏!!!! 😊
There’s a certain Judy Garland quality about her. I’d love to see her do this role!!
Wow she is fantastic!
Caroline added a lot of likeability to Rose. As someone who's struggling to make it on stage I have Rose's Turn breakdowns frequently
What a treat to finally see footage of Caroline in this role. What a powerhouse!

She’s such a gem
She’s crazy good.
She really own the character!

DAMN GIRL CAN MOVE
INCANDESCENCE on stage personified
This 'Amazing' actress should do Edith Piaf.
She has, and Anita, Velma, Reno Lovett, Fanny Brice
I'm exhausted

I disagree. I like it. Rose is not supposed to be talented, and most productions have her moving all over the place. I like the awkwardness here.

WOW!!!
