Nick, thank you so much for taking the time to share your honest review! Not only have we seen your video, but we’ve also shared it among ourselves with great pride and, most importantly, immense gratitude to you! I had the pleasure of meeting you, Kody, and Kim and sharing in your first Tropic Star experience-it was truly a joy! At the time, I had no idea about your grandfather, and knowing that this trip held such deep significance now makes handing you your Blue Marlin certificate all the more special.
Seeing your passion for the place we all hold so dearly come to life in this video was a magical experience-thank you once again for sharing your perspective! We are so fortunate to have the people who make all of this possible, sharing in your passion, and dedicating many years to ensuring every guest experience lives up to the precious memories held by our angling family. As you so beautifully illustrated, our operation is made up of many intricate parts, each step of the way crafted with special guests like you in mind. Your appreciation for every detail is a wonderful reminder of why we continue to strive for excellence.
We can’t wait to welcome you back soon, continuing your Tropic Star story across generations!
    - Jess Collins on behalf of the Tropic Star team!

Hi Nick. Great video! I started watching you a few days ago and thanks so much for creating this video about the lodge. Their web site sadly isn’t very user friendly and didn’t update the booking dates for 2025. Just wondering how much did you spend and how many people? Thanks and keep making these videos!

Thank you for the comments. My wife and I are planning on a 2026 trip there. If you get the opportunity, visit Talon Lodge in Sitka, Alaska. Truly an experience of a lifetime.

First, most people don’t spend much time looking from above. Also, I doubt many would spend much time critiquing the angles things sit out. You control that story so start with a beautiful back porch view and show the sunset before your drone footage.
No more specific… a 16 foot square gazebo will feel empty and well… huge. If you like the square, put a U shaped kitchen at one end. You could possibly also include some storage eating up some of the length and make the gathering area square. But… I would definitely mark out the whole thing on relatively flat ground and feel the whole thing out.
I would plan for a path from the back porch to the gazebo.

How many guests does resort have on property at a given time?
