@@dave_clarke I agree. It's not like he was passive or putting himself down. Infact, he said the lap record of 1:21 or high 20s was perfectly achieveable, so if anything he's not putting himself down, he's just being a good driver that knows what the car is doing and what his skill is capable of

@@whoeveriam0iam14222 Eh, it isn't that difficult to get it right. Just don't add two simultaneous music tracks or do a long crossfade with them. Considering rest of the production it's a bit baffling.
@@myownsite UA-camrs almost universally have a blind spot for audio. Basic things like normalizing so every clip/song is the same relative volume, or compressing microphones so that they don't suddenly blow your eardrums out when they shout are almost never taken care of, and it makes my audio engineer brain wanna die. I think Jimmy's stuff is actually well above average in that area usually, but no tuber can fully escape the curse I guess
@@SuffyANX Audio is one of those things that when you're educated in it, you see mistakes with everyone else's editing with it. And that's not a bad thing, it's just only the top youtube channels with dozens of people can actually get audio right, and that's probably with an audio engineer in the team as is. As you said, Jimmer's stuff seems way above average than what you usually hear in other novice channels, but it can never be perfect
seeing how it leave other cars standing that are no slouches themselves really give a sense of how fast the Praga is

I've got a sneaking feeling that this lad won't be an amateur race driver for much longer. From never being in a race car just over a year ago to multiple wins now, certain race teams will be offering a test or two very soon. They will be earned and deserved

@@xX_Gravity_Xx The thing with Jimmer is, any height in motor racing he can achieve is worth the same easily. Damon shyed from racing in many ways, because of his Dad and many 'stars' these days are also the offspring of those before, because sadly you can pay your way into F1. One thing I did say during this video was, Jimmy is not as far off owning an NSX as he thinks. Win the Praga Cup and he wins a Praga. That would be getting sold, as you can't go down the shops in it. An NSX however 👌🏻

I was looking forward to this vid and seeing how the Praga would match-up to the other Pro Extreme cars through the sector speed/time splits, and glad to see you enjoyed yourself! Sadly I can confirm that even in equally-sized cars you can still get baulked at the end of a fast lap- it's not just a dinky Praga thing! 😂
Comparing the 2022 TSL data against what we managed with our 850hp Evo in 2017 is quite interesting- Praga faster in S1, Evo faster in S2 and both neck and neck in the final sector, highlighting the differences in power/aero but ultimately achieving a similar result. It's unfortunate that Pirelli don't offer a Super Soft in the smaller sizes as a friend was using a Radical a couple of seasons ago and had to suffer with skating around for 20mins generating no tyre temp in what was available.
I still have our Vbox and video data, a 1:21.8 lap plus a potential mid-21 from qualifying, so if you wanted to have a browse and/or create a comparison vid you're more than welcome! 😉

Praga has a marketing genius working for them getting Jimmy on board. I was at Pitt Race a couple weeks ago and someone was running a Praga in TT. Before Jimmy started driving for them, I had no idea who they were; now I'm like "oh sweet, a Praga!"

Awesome result, well done and that's all that matters. It's all extremely valuable experience that can only make You a better driver for future events. It doesn't matter if You beat them by 2 secons or 0.1 of a second, it's being ahead and growing as a driver that matters.

A 4 door sedan road car converted to a race car with lots of power but also lots of aero drag vs. a dedicated race car that was aero-shaped for efficient downforce from its inception and is waaay lighter?
Of course, the Praga would win. Road based race cars almost always lose to pure race cars.

Jimmy, I know you're in the Praga at the moment, but do you have any kind of possible options for moving into the LMP feeders? The praga is basically an LMP3 car as it is
Yeah I did wonder something like Le Mans cup or even ELMS. However I would imagine the sticky problem is (as always) budget. He would need a huge amount of financial backing to do it. Sponsors are possible of course but with the world at the moment I think it’s tougher than ever.
@@andrewharper4296 All depends how much someone like Fanatec is willing to put up. I reckon Jimmy has a decent chance though, getting sponsors may be a little easier due to his position.

@@andrewharper4296 Agreed about the budget thing. If you haven't already, watch James Baldwin's video about why he didn't race for over a year after British GT: it's just simply impossible without a sponsor. Scraping together enough money to race in one GT3 race or similar is one thing, but financing a whole season in a GT or LMS series requires hundreds of thousands of pounds.
As you said though, the fact that we live in the social media age and that people like Jimmer now have huge social media followings is very much the "wildcard" factor here. To the right group of sponsors (e.g a brand like Fanatec as you said), someone like Jimmy Broadbent is a potentially great oppurtunity for them to advertise.
The reality is that Jimmy, like 99% of other people, doesn't have the money himself/a business that can outright afford to fund a seat in a high up race series. He realistically wouldn't have a chance at all (not to do with driving skills, just that he's a normal guy who didn't have an insanely privileged upbringing). For the vast majority, it's just unattainable. But the fact that he's built up a truly incredible UA-cam channel with this much of a following is a very unique thing, definitely something to watch out for.
The Praga thing is incredible as is, and now he's in the world of real world racing, it doesn't seem like he's going anywhere soon. He's continually improving as a driver, putting in some mega performances, as well as producing some video content of absurdly good quality. Jimmer is truly something unique in the world of motor racing, and long may his success continue. Him being in a racing car isn't just a massive win for him, it's a win for the whole community. It makes me so happy to see him being successful
