When I lived in NC I got a PO box from the UPS store. I used their address and listed it as suite for the PO box. They received all my mail including signature required and packages. It worked well. I've moved to boring Indiana now.
you can use a PO box for the "business address", but DO NOT use a PO box for a registered agent. A registered agent is needed to "Receive service" / "get served by a court" and if you fail to be available to receive service, you could lose a case by default. (description updated, but felt i should add this here for people who don't read updated descriptions)
@@gabriellewalker3190 So if I am the registered agent filing for the LLC for my company, I would use my home address for the registered agent, and just use the PO box for the business address? @@clothingworkzz9662 if you list yourself as the registered agent your address is going to be public records you do not want to use yourself as a registered agent unless you do not care that the whole world will have your home address

When forming an LLC in California, If I'm going to move in a couple months but want to start my business now, do I put my current address or the address of where I'm moving?
Hi i live in California and I just got a mailbox at my local UPS store that comes with a real address and suite number. I was going to use this as my business address. I am wondering if I can also use this UPS store as my registered agent since they are open during business hours and can receive my mail?
i live in pakistan, how i form llc online in wyoming, which address i need to start, RA, principal address, mailing address, what are the difference between these addresses
Soo is the renting a P.O. Box & having them provide the physical address illegal? I need to know.. also can a Registered Agent accept physical packages & forward them to me? If not what would be the point of having one? Then I would have to pay a RA & also for a P.O. Box
For those of you trying to go the p.o. box street address way..its illegal...I just got a application today from the post office and it says on the application "you may not use the street address option as your physical residence or place of business in legal documents"
In NY can you use a Virtual Business Address to start your LLC and does the address have to be in the same county of the same state (NY) in which you live or will be working in even though your business will start online? And if so are there any pros and cons to this possible solution? Thanks in advance!
Per the secretary of state website, "The designated office in California is where copies of the organizational documents, operating agreement, financial and other business records must be kept. " I know I can get by with a physical po box address, but how would this effect my business legally? Does it open the door to possible future legal consequences?
I’m confused about your question because I’m also in California and I’ve already filed my LLC back in January 2021 and yes all of your original paperwork will be on file at the Secretary of State as well as the IRS but as far as a registered agent you can hire anyone that has a physical address to do that or a virtual address that’s not a PO Box
Will using the home address allow your corporate veil to be pierced (the alter-ego doctrine)? Even if everything else is seperated and properly enacted.
Quick question, I set up my L.L.C. Online and I thought I had to use my own home address just a few days ago. Can I go back and change it now it to a P.O. Box with the physical address? Or is it to late?
You will need a physical address where someone can accept mail for your registered agent address. You can typically change your business address by filing the appropriate paperwork with the Secretary of State where you live.
Do you have a video on forming LLC in state (Maryland as an example or Out of state (Wyoming and Delaware as examples) Should I do it in state Maryland considered one of the worst or out of state and create a physical address if needed. THanks
You can either dissolve the business or move the business to the state , you'll just make an update with the state . This was also a question I asked my attorney and you have the option to dissolve the business, move the business or start a new one . I hoped this helped!
Depending on your biz, you may not want to dissolve your biz entity in MO. I was told by my lawyer that I had a choice whether I wanted to start fresh in my new state, but since I've been in biz for several years, if you dissolve your MO LLC., your biz start date changes to the date you get a new LLC. in your new state. This may show that you don't have established business credibility but that is subjective. However, you must register your biz in your new state. Contact your state biz organization and ask about how to obtain a Foreign LLC. since your biz entity is registered elsewhere. Hope this helps. *Disclaimer: The views expressed above are my own experience and not of the owner of this channel or from UA-cam. I am not a lawyer and I am not liable for the information provided. Very interesting! If the business is headquartered at my residence and I don't use a different address when it comes to filing would my home address be made public somehow? I don't suppose I can have a P.O. box listed as my business headquarters? (for strictly business correspondence and not registered agent use) I also wonder about this if I don't use a registered agent and act as my own. You said that the business cannot act as the registered agent, but that an individual could. Since I work from home would my business location prevent me from being my own registered agent.
Hi Shawn, I'm only licensed to practice in Florida and North Carolina, so I can't give advice on Kentucky law. That being said, the general rule for registered agents is that they must have a street address (not PO Box) where they can accept service on behalf of a business. You should check with a Kentucky attorney to confirm that this is the rule in Kentucky as well and make sure there are no other exceptions.
say you have POBOX 99444 IN OAKLAND POST OFFICE > HOW TO WRITE THE Address: 1675 7th ,Oakland # 99444 CA 94615 (IT'S SAME AS POBOX ADDRESS ) LEGAL . NO MUMBO JUMBO ! I HAVE CHECKED IT OUT AT COUNTY LEVEL, USPS MAIN OFFICE .
So I have an LLC and I’m currently using my home address as the business address and I’m also my own Resident agent. Can I get a P.O. Box for my business?
