The advance booklets are supposed to contain some higher difficulty level questions. I didn't even use them except for LR. I just didn't find them useful enough.

Hai di, I don't know if this makes any sense.. But I have this doubt please clarify di. During the lockdown, I became so much interested in knowing about North Korea because this is a mysterious country. So I've watched alot of documentaries and UA-cam videos about it. So I have got a good amount of knowledge about that mysterious country. Will this in anyway help during the interviews. Like can I mention about this in my interview?? Please reply di.
You can surely talk about why you started searching about it all of a sudden and what you have learned so far but take a note of two things:
1. You will be asked follow-up questions and hence, either learn a lot about the country or pick the aspects that you searched the most about.
2. Whichever aspects you pick, search more on the same lines about India and other neighbouring countries too. So that the common element becomes that aspect and not NK.

I am currently pursuing bcom from sol (du) along with that I have worked full time with SpiceJet Ltd as an executive for 20 months my question is how will I show this kind of work experience becoz I had been into very good experience for corporate world with this also I have been employee of month or being a sol student will affect all my chances in selection plss reply for both questions it's really important for me
Being a SOL student is not a disadvantage at all. It creates no difference if you were studying on a campus or were an open university student. But, remember that work experience in the IIM interview forms doesn't count experience during graduation, only afterwards. Though you can surely mention about it during your interview. Verbally put across all your achievements and share the value you can add.

That's a great question, I hadn't included it in the video list earlier, but will add now. To answer it here, you must include the following while answering this question:
- the field you're inclined towards (marketing/HR/consulting), it's okay if you're not sure about it already, in that case, skip this point.
- the growth aspect, certainly MBA provides a fast-track growth and the career opportunities switch from routine tasks to more challenging projects
- MBA and life after that is about decision making, problem solving, prioritization, so you can mention these skills as possessions and claim to fit a match
- the reason why you're not deferring your admission or getting more work-ex or staying in your existing role: your reasons of not choosing other options must be clear

I have secured a 99.89 percentile.I pursuing Eng hons currently. IIM A is my dream college. But the biggest challenge i have is that there is a gap year between my 12th and college. In this gap year I had joined a BBA college, I didnt like the culture there and had also developed interest in story telling thus decided to drop and joined Ramjas in ENg hons the following year. Do you think this confusing story will do me any good?

All of them are correct and very well acceptable! I couldn't really guess anything :P My mind went blank at that moment. But, the answer they had in their mind was "the wall that led to the room of requirement in Harry Potter" :P
I had science in Intermediate, humanities in Graduation and now switching to management , will this question be asked in interviews ?
That can be questioned but is no hindrance in getting selected. One of my batch mates shifted from Science to Arts to Management as well.

You can surely talk about Geopolitics, it would be a great discussion! You shouldn't say reading a particular newspaper is your habit. Instead, reading a particular type of news articles is your habit - that makes sense.

Preparing for cat and getting 95 percentile is ok untill you are called for the gdpi session which is a nightmare for most of us who have poor comm skills + no work ex but u r doing such a great work ma'am u r a saviour for us non engineers and i m too a bcom h student

Also i have to give cat in 2021 so i have more than 1 year for these interviews .
So i have 2 doubts .
Firstly the academic related questions are asked from where like from school time or from the graduation .
Secondly like i would be a fresher. So only internships to show. So do they ask questions on internships in the same way , like for people having work -ex .
1. Only graduation based courses are asked.
2. No, they simply ask you to share what you learned during your internships, or what you worked on, or about the start-up you worked for, etc.

I have a problem in my father name.
My father name in my personal documents is different from my father name in my qualifications documents due to spelling mistakes and surname omission.
I obtained an affidavit from First Class Magistrate in order to overcome this problem.
Will my documents verification process be smooth at IIMs ?

Hi Vishal, doing or not doing a post-grad should be an interest-based choice. If you wish to explore your core field further, then go ahead for it. It doesn't give any added advantage beyond the additional skill-set/knowledge you bring to the table, given you do well during the post-grad.

Hey Garima, I haven't heard of it so won't be able to share a feedback, but the thing is - go through the curriculum of any course and if you think it adds value, then do it. Value is of information or knowledge not the brand name.

The more balanced your profile i.e. a bit of everything, the safer it is considered. But, if you don't have points in one of the buckets let's say internships - that's okay as long as you have something else to put instead of it.
It's all about value creation. What can you offer to the batch? If you don't have those skills due to no internships that's acceptable as long as you have those skills from some other activity or experience. Haha, the things you're mentioning shouldn't be learned from me. And I haven't thought about it because I prefer to focus more on the content than the format. Facecam videos take a lot of time and effort to shoot as well as edit. My only objective is to pass on the information.

Thanks, Dimple. There are a lot of challenges with that at the moment. It's far easier for me to create content in this format, while the facecam videos demand a lot of editing time, which I run short of. So, between content and format, I prefer to focus on content.

Hi ma'am, greetings of the day! I am a Hotel Management student and currently I'm working with Taj groups of hotels. Can please tell me what are my chances of selection in IIMs if I scored high in CAT and how I can built a good profile in this line (in Hotel line) ??
The chances will depend on your percentile, acads etc. But, being an HM student is surely no disadvantage, it'll bring in more diversity.
Building a profile means having more understanding of the industry, having relevant work-ex which you sure have. You just need to excel at your job, that's it.
Btw, we had a lot of HM cases in our first year!

Hey, I think I replied elsewhere as well, but just to be safe - gap years won't hurt as long as they can be justified. Make sure that if you reappear for CAT, you take up some experience alongside.

Choose basis your preference. Personally, I didn't apply abroad because of my decision to stay in India. There are a host of factors like cost, opportunities, etc.

Hi Rohan, in my opinion the preparation remains more or less similar with just a change in the material you use to clear your concepts and attempt questions. But, point taken, will make one soon. Meanwhile, you can go through the CAT playlist on the channel and watch 4 videos: CAT 2021 8 stages, DILR strategy, QA strategy and VARC strategy. Those should help.

It won't be a hindrance but not necessarily a plus too. It entirely depends on what value can you add after having done a masters degree. If you can, then it is of value for sure!
I have repeated 11th class because I changed my stream from science to commerce, but my academic record has fairly improved. Am I at some disadvantage? Because the year of passing 12th will be written on my CV
Not at all, a friend of mine switched from Science to Arts with a similar set of circumstances. No disadvantage at all. He made it to IIM-A in 2018-2020 batch.

I have been consuming your content a lot. I have a question regarding your work profile. There is no doubt that communication is pivotal for marketing and sales. Supposing that you are allotted to overlook sales of a district somewhere in South India, let's say Tamil Nadu, how will you be able to communicate with vendors and kirana stores (i presume you don't know Tamil). Basically, I want to know if you can select your state of interest post your training?

Entirely depends on your choice. I chose B Com (H) is more holistic as it focuses on all sorts of commerce subjects not only accounts, BBA doesn't have that much emphasis on accounts as in B Com (H). None of them will give you an added advantage for MBA. Both are at par, so choose basis interest.

practice QA DILR daily and read newspaper in daily basis.

Hi Sukiran, thanks a lot for the kind words! From the interactions I've had with my batch mates with work-ex, what I've seen is that their profile is mostly evaluated by their work-experience and what skills they gained on the job, how well they're aware about the happenings in their industry, so on and so forth. Everything in their interviews majorly circles around that. So, I'd suggest exploring that angle further on how your experience within Amazon can help you add value to the batch.
