Beautiful! I just LOVE the 1911! It’s so underrated and I really wish Sailor would make more color ways for the 1911S & L….and show as much love to the model like they do with PG and PGS. I myself prefer the 1911L because I have really long fingers but love the S size as well. Happy writing!! You truly can’t go wrong with any sailor❤❤❤
I've never thought that having long fingers could be why I enjoy a particular pen but it totally could be! I have long fingers too! :) I don't think having long fingers mean we have big hands! So now I've taken out my 1911 and realize how good it feels to uncap and hold than my other pens. I think you're onto something! And yes, why don't they release more colourways for the 1911?! :)
Sailor! Yes!! Always loved them - this one is beautiful; great choice indeed :) The little writing sample was wonderful - the nib sound along with your handwriting skills = splendidness! :) Thanks for showing this Tiffany.
I don't have enough experience with Pilot pens - I can't wait to try the custom 74 though. Would be interesting to see which one I prefer. I love my e95s so much though.
Hey Tiffany . I was just writing with the Platinum version of that pen. They look just alike. I had to re-check my band and make sure I didn't have a Sailor. 💜
@@robbourne1950 Hey Rob, how do you like your platinum? It's it the 3776? That pen is on my list. I've never tried one though. The calico model looks beautiful. But yes the pens really look alike.
@@toxmot Yes it is the Platinum #3776 in black with the gold trim. I was trying out music nibs so I got it in 14k music. I had it loaded with Chou Kuro and it wrote like a dream. The Platinum nibs are great. I also have the #3776 Chartes in Blue with a soft fine. Now that takes getting used to. But it writes well too.
Congratulations on getting a Sailor 1911. My Profit Standard (1911) also had an MF nib. Prices of both Sailor and Pilot will rise in the future, so it's better to buy one sooner rather than later. Sailor will no longer be gold plated and will be changed to gold ion plating. With the price of gold rising, this will likely be a move towards reducing gold consumption as much as possible.🙂
I heard that Pilot did raise prices and pretty much other brands as well I guess. I didn't know that Sailor was changing their gold plating though. I don't know much about it and wonder if it would make a big change in writing experience? I guess it won't be real gold anymore :( and that would affect the softness of the nib.
@@toxmot san It seems that the gold material is vapor-deposited to make it more durable than plating. I don't think you'll understand the contradictions of ion plating even if I write about it. I'm curious about the difference in appearance🙂
Lovely sailor pen! Congrats to you!

Thanks Barry, it really is a wonderful pen :)
Beautiful pen! I’m definitely a Pilot girl but this Sailor is nice. Thanks for sharing!

I don't have this one yet, thanks for sharing
Took me a long time to get to this pen due to it being just black/gold. I can't believe I overlooked it.
Beautiful pen. Thanks for sharing
