Wtvr tho, fact is I genuinely want to learn more about PvP, I have the creativity for vids but i clearly need to learn more about how stuff synergies, poise numbers, and level/stat efficiency, so i can make better build videos, which brings more attention and keeps ppl playing the PvP here. I ALWAYS try to convince more and more ppl to play the PvP and bring attention to it, Sooo its in everyones best interest that i continue to 'cook', buut just get more knowledgeable... I swear im going to double check EVERY thing before i drop this next mage build video.
Im on PC, so anyone here trying to squad up? Discuss builds while playing? Im not asking for ppl to freakin teach me or explain everything to me, i'll learn on my own, nah im just asking if any players here want to squad up and discuss builds more.

Thank you for this video, you guys called out pretty much everything i was thinking when i watched his video. The worst part is new comers to the game are gonna watch his video and think he knows what hes talking about.
Video is fine for newcomers. When starting sth new it's important 1st to get a broad idea & not 1000 of details that will confuse one at 1st... Optimisation can be focused later on

I love spinning slash on my beastman curved sword, always seems to combo well (no tru) with the jump R2 into R1. Is it not that good anymore or something? I mean I’m still probably going to use it anyway coz it feels comfy in the build I’m using.

I mean, most of opponents will be dumb and will get rekt by these builds in the arena I think. You often get matched with casuals and these will work like 70-80% of the time

Do some ashes, on their own, have scaling regardless of the infusion of your weapon? For example is beast roar on a strength build is worse than on a dex build?
I would highly recommending checking out Chrightt's "Comprehensive Weapon Art Damage Calculation Guide". It gives a very detailed overview of how different ashes of war get their damage calculated depending on weapon, affinity, level, etc.
For a quicker summary in regards to your specific question, typically, when ashes of war throw out projectiles, the projectile scales according to the base infusion stat. i.e. since beast roar throws out a projectile, and its base infusion is keen, its damage scales the best on keen (on a dex build). If you get into the numbers for it (the video will explain this a lot better), a strength build is the worst build to use beast roar on.

Yes, certain Ashes are preset to a certain Affinity like Lion's Claw is always gonna be best with Heavy Affinity, it's not a huge deal, but yeah it has the Ashes Categorized.

Im actually running a dragon thunder invasion build with mirror on 138 lol. Can confirm if the host can roll, u cant hit anything. But if u bait ppl in u can still get some hilarious 1v3 oneshots.
What are your stats for that?

So I'm starting to play pvp, and I'm getting destroyed by everyone, I supposed I need to change my build, or get better
I personally like using the 4 talismans that make my fire spells do more damage and I level my stats to make my fire do more damage and I wear armor that look cool because that is #1 build in the da game
In all fairness Bolt of Gransax and Dragon King's Cragblade should not scale with Dexterity and scale with Faith instead, but I get why he used Bolt on his Lightning Build, it fits the theme of Red Ancient Dragon Lightning. I make all my builds/characters for PVE and then just use them in PVP, if it does good then great, if not oh well. I actually like to use some of the same stuff as him, not because it's the best, most optimized option, but it just fits the theme and aesthetic of my builds/character and I like that particular playstyle. There's a few weapons I use on literally all 9 of my builds/characters. Iron Greatsword, Nightrider Glaive, Dual Bandit's Curved Swords, etc. with various Affinities just because I happen to like them, I don't mind that they will do a bit less damage.

@@k.i.dauddicity4658 I still think Bolt of Gransax and Dragon Kings Cragblade should scale with Dexterity and Faith evenly considering they're the best weapons for a Lightning Build. The Lightning Incantations scale off Faith it only makes sense.

I try different builds almost daily. Eleonora's is split dmg between fire, physical. It's max bleed is 80 i believe. Here is my take. The dmg is average at best. Talimans like rotten wing and prothesis are pretty good cause you can proc of a running 2h r1 (2swing). Blood talisman can be a decent choice. Possibly buff with flame. I do not recommend exalted flesh because it feels cheap. (Opinion) You can do well against most weapons, but may struggle against halbred poke and high ar weapons.

@@Lino_Barbara last thing, i think the best stats for Elenoras (no 15 faith for flame buff) is something like 52 arcane 22 dex. Its something close to that. Go 2h the weapon then respec the character holding the weapon to fine tune. Arcane caps at 60.

it would be nice if steel or koop started to review peoples build or something like that. Like I have mine version of hybrid jungle build (rl138) with 35 dex just to use morgott and have cast speed for bubbles sorcery, a pretty MEME build, but it would be fun to see that build getting reviewed lol.
Cast speed is overrated for most spells
Btw The reason he used dex on the dex mage build is bc dex increases spell casting time
you don’t need the dexterity, there’s a talisman and a staff that can put you to near max spell casting speed anyway

I don’t know if I’ll ever get a reply. I haven’t played elden ring for a good half a year and getting back into the pvp I thought the meta level was 125. Is it still 125 or is it 150 or in this case 152?

@@Sir_Pinkerton_III sorry the rounding error thing is for 168. I wasn’t going to elaborate but now i have some time. So most people are assuming that dualist metas are 125 and 150. The purpose for 137 is to invade both ends of the spectrum for the most matches. If you want to avoid these dualist builds, drunk souls has been pushing for 168 for dualists because its just high enough that you do not invade down to 150. Technically it should be 167 but because of a rounding error in the game its actually 168.
another benefit to 168 is that everyone’s in journey 2 and has a few extra points to spend so in theory you’ll see more build variety. Of course thats not always the case but ive seen some cool builds and prefer to make them instead of being meta out the ass

A solid build is pure faith, order's blade on treespear with the holy physick. Dual coded swords, sacred godstitcher's, other faith weapons you could think of.
Because of what I saw I feel the need to make a video "TOP 5 not good but also not bad, you can say average character builds for PvP arena! (RANKING) | Elden Ring" after which in the parts devoted to combat I would show how I lose to better players, laggy players and hackers. I think this would be a much more valuable example of how to create and not create characters for pvp
Running attack spam with ripple halberd and soporific drawstring grease + charged O, Flame on sleep proc using 318 spell power Dragon Communion Seal. It's fucking dirty af and you still can use heavy armor and plenty of FP and vig.
But if you actually want fun and good build, not broken shit like this, then try greataxes, particularly Crescent moon or Executioner on pure str. One cool thing about these is they hard counter jump attacks. Crazy poise, nuts damage, fucks jump attackers over, and a decent weapon overall.
Celebrants cleaver fan here just for the charged run up hits quirkiness hard to land it but worth every attempt.
Man, greataxes are not good. Almost any PSed weapon is able to out-damage Executioner on an optimised build while also having a better overall moveset

I feel sorry for the people who are new to From games that listen to this kind of "content creators". Most of them don't know anything they're doing, therefore teaching newbies how to not be optimal (thanks IGN). Also, it's kinda stupid the way they make their content, like remaking weapon and build "rankings" every time they had to launch a new video, even if nothing has changed on the game itself since the last one came out....

So hold on is the counter attack dmg talisman a boost to all counter attacks or only thrusting weapons/attacks
Also do trades count as counter attacks
All counter attacks on any weapon that has pierce damage. Counter damage is any attack that hits during their attack animation
The game only considers thrust attacks as a "counter attack". If you quickly check your stats while attacking, you'll see your pierce defense temporarily drop during the animation. The talisman will only increase pierce damage during that window. Other damage types will NOT be buffed

I absolutely disagree. We took our time to either correct builds or give advice that would make presented one way better.
The video is already there. The damage is done, and best we could do is to make public response to pubic video in hope that new players who seen the original going to see our response as well.
