About that "20 year old guy", aapko andaza hai k jiss bandy sy aap communicate kr rhy ho woh uss phase main bhi hai ya nahi k woh baat samajh saky jo aap bol rhy ho?? This is not the way to deal someone jo aapsy kisi emotional issue py help lainyy aya hai. You are just like those parents(from an email from this very podcast) jo bachy ky psychiatrist ko consult krny py hans rhy thy, that is what you are doing here. Bhai woh 20 ka hai, ussy kya pata k kaisy chalta sab.... ussy nahi pata, nahi hoga itna mature. But cursing and beeping and yeh tone, all adds up in his depression rather than to help.
Aapki baat bilkul sahi, but woh banda uss phase main hai jahan aisi baatein bajaye faida dainy k ussy aur depression daingi. Aik jagah aap emotions ko promote kr rhy aur cheezon ko sexualise krny ko ghalat, doosri jagah uss bandy ko iss tarah mock kr rhy jo banda simply just aik phase main hai jiss age mein yeh hota hai, almost sab k sath(hormones and all that) he is just telling you what he feels. Ussy batao k bhai sabbr kro, wait kro, life ks very unpredictable, tumhein nahi pata what it holds for you, but aapny uski sari help wali philosophy ko bilkul khatam kr diya. No wonder woh ainda woh kisi bhi content creator sy aisi cheezon py help nai maangy ga, cuz bhi aap content creator ho, therapist nai. Woh banda nikl bhi jaye hoskta iss cheez sy kuch months tak, but the way you handled this thing with an audience of thousands, yeh hoskta na bhooly woh.
So maybe main zyada ley rha issy, but Junaid bhai, humbly saying mujy yeh cheez buri lagi and maybe you should change this attitude. Peace

There is always a trade-off when you leave someone for someone else. it is not like when you move on to a prettier girl she will have all the characteristics of the previous partner on top of being prettier.
She may be prettier but who to say that she won't be a cheater or manipulative or just does not laugh at your jokes the same way and you will miss that.
So when you with someone where you feel like yourself truly and it is hard to imagine someone else loving you and understanding you the same way. Then it is time to settle down because you won't be getting a better deal again.

One thing that makes us different from western that is we appreciate our parents effort and sacrifices. We don’t leave them alone they didn’t leave us when we were nothing. I proudly say my parents worked hard to give me good education which their parents couldn’t afford to give them. It’s a blessing from god.
I don't know how can he say such things? I have seen such people Jin k parents unhen puchty bhi nahi hain. Paida karty hain phenk dety hain wo rul thul k khudi pal jaty hain. We are very lucky ALHUMDULILLAH that our parents gave us each and everything with their hard work. But he always promote the msg that leave your parents in any condition and just focus on your life. Bhala jab maa baap hi ap ki life main nahi hongy to ap ki success ka bhi koi faida nahi hai. He seems very selfish when it comes to the topic of parents and children responsibility.

That's where he wants to say that parents should give their children the necessary autonomy , they need to lead a successful life, bcz a person knows the best about himself, even the parents can't know that much about children. for the 1st email: did i miss something. so mother is on anti-deppressent pills and is labelled a drugie and evil but the father is an alchoholic but yet is almost a saint, bhai daal mein kuch kaala hai, i am a guy, and i have a feeling the father didnt just took to alcohol after the fact, the mother must have gone through some serious domestic issues and quietly fought her battle and lost be it an affair or domestic abuse (often women hide it from kids) and finally broke down... aiwain hi kha mukha thori koi house lady drugie ban jati... this girl should dig deeper...

About the hostel thing. I am the most private person you can imagine but hostel life has been some of the best time I have spent in my life period. I grew up as a person, learned how to navigate through situations and learned how to make freinds

The poor mother in the first situation- she has MENTAL HEALTH DIFFICULTIES and needs help. The drugs help make her life bearable. As a medical student, I’d expect the girl to be more understanding but she seems to have abandoned her mother too and mistaken her majboori as a choice. Maybe the mother got depression after having her child (the girl) and never got over her post partum depression?! Maybe she was abused as a child and intimacy with her husband brought up those memories or whatever? Maybe her husband/inlaws or whoever abused her and she couldn’t tolerate it?! Whatever it is- back off and get some perspective. How will you treat other mental health patients when you come across them in your practice. You sound very selfish.
Also why the hamdardi with the dad who is an alcoholic (also an addiction). Why is he better than the mother? Ridiculous double standards here. Grow up.
Some sense is being spoken finally. I would agree to the fact that both had their issues in marriage and rather then going for resolution they succumbed to addictions. And addictions are difficult to end, need immense patience and commitment. If she has lost her insight ofcourse she wont be understanding what you are trying to press on her. She needs help too. Take your parents to therapy dear writer.
