Malawi is a very Beautiful country. Come & visit we have Beautiful Hills and mountains, Beautiful Lake Malawi, National parks, Game Reserves, Lovely people to Associate with, Everything is just Wow!! And I am proud to be a Malawian. Come its warm Heart of Africa.
The contacts are an interesting point. Even in the US it’s a privilege to have them, as they cost hundreds. Such a simple thing many of us take for granted, it’s so important to keep a larger perspective
It’s strange that you mentioned malaria, but failed to warn people of the dangers of Bilharziasis (schistosomiasis) which is prevalent in Lake Malawi. Especially as the lake area is a great tourist attraction. Chichewa is not the only language spoken in this country considering the other indigenous people ie Ngoni, Tumbuka, Nyau etc. Apart from a short spell in Zomba, Lilongwe and Blantyre I spent a good few months in the Northern region, Mzuzu, Rhumpi, Livingstonia and mainly under canvas on the Nyika and Vwaza Marsh area. Didn’t have the luxury of Boma Guest Houses but spent time in surrounding villages in traditional local huts. It’s a beautiful and friendly safe country. Plenty of Mzungo living there.
Thanks for your comments and wisdom. We never got a chance to spend any nights under the canvas but would love to come back and do some more remote travels and adventures. Especially in the more Northern and Southern border areas. Cheers! Thanks for your comments!
My husband tested positive for bilharzia after 25 years later. Caused him a lot of problems. He was treated in a disease clinic here for 6 diseases. Bilharzia in my opinion caused my husband problems. He was always in the water. He got malaria 3 times before he nearly died.
@@angelaura9713 Untreated schistosomiasis can cause serious problems if not treated thoroughly and regular checkups carried out (cystoscopy). Carcinoma of the bladder being one. I would love to go back.
We lived 11 years in Malawi I employ Malawians in our Engieering Business . Great People who love to learn. I played rugby for Malawi, my late wife Hockey for national side
Nice and very informative video thanks Make this great video for us Sir plz kindly make more videos about African countries thanks again love from Pakistan
Sunbird in Lilongwe is the best hotel to stay. Air Tel is good and cheap. 12k kwacha for 32 gigs. Didn't enjoy the chambe fish 🐟. Not exactly battered hake and chips. Going to Lake Malawi tomorrow! Will report back!
Thank you for your informative video. I am originally from Zimbabwe, living in the UK and planning to visit Malawi, where my father was born. It would be my first time there. Kind of tracing my roots so to speak! So, really looking foward to it. Would love to hear from anyone with information about the Chingwalu's community in the South of the country. Thanks!😊🙏
4:07 correction, pants are allowed in Malawi. Our women wear them all the time. Not wearing pants maybe applicable in some very very rural areas in Malawi particularly those that are Muslim cultured. But for the most urban parts of the country it's pretty much okay to do so. And yes men wear shorts in both rural and urban areas.
@davidmagawa7822 Perhaps today but not alleeden Kamusu was Preseident . Back them Men flared trousers Also long hair. We all new the reasons so never a problem unless . It was one of the better Countries in Africa . In Malawi ladies safe when
Most people don't speak English at all. And the languages aren't mixed unless you're in the refugees place. Yes, malawi is the warm heart of Africa. They ware what they can afford. They do ware hats if they can afford it. You can go to a pharmacy and get ant-malaria tablets. Food is amazing special street food. Food market in Malawi is amazing. Buy local sims and its cheaper then the uk and us. Get a local to get it for you as you will be charged more. Not seeing white people is not something new in malawi as it is an african country. Its the same as white national have never seen a black person. There is muzuzu coffee that you can get anywhere in malawi. Don't everyone like to be committed when they spent time cooking to fill your tummy. I gland you liked visiting Malawi but u have only seen 2% of how people live and you have put them all in one basket.
Me to my Malawian wife the night before we fly to Malawi to visit for my first time: "Hey, this mazungu on UA-cam just said that people are gonna make fun of me if I wear shorts.. Should I unpack all my shorts?" My wife: "What????.. he's crazy he doesn't know what he is talking about he probably only went to the villages or something" Me: "Ok, I'm gonna bring my shorts" Malawi, I'll see you soon!!!
Thank you for the video! one question though: I was told on my travels to not bring sweets and candy for the kids since it can rather bad for their teeth. But rather pens and little toys. Has this changed?
I am a Malawi and I find the advice bizzare. There is no law and cultural rules for gifts. What you bring as a gift is totally up to you. It is not even required that you bring a gift. All you need is an open heart. Come experience Malawi at your own terms while respecting the locals as fellow human beings.
I am flying to Malawi tomorrow for my first time to visit my wifes family.. we have been given gift bags from some of my wife's Malawian friends who live here in America to bring and deliver to their family back in malawi and I would say there is about 5lbs of candy to deliver.... So I am thinking this advice you were given is just a bunch of BS
😂😂😂😂 if you're a guest in the country then this is great advise, no seriously, 🙁 you're very likely to catch something. Nasty stomach bug or something of that sort. Otherwise, as a Malawian, chips chapa chiwaya chija anakonza 🥰
I decided to give your video THUMBS DOWN! WHY? Let's just say this is not the only video about Malawi on UA-cam, and yours look different from most of them.
I don't think there's a place in Malawi where people have not seen white people before...that is not true. Don't forget there are White Malawians and the country is too small to have people who are in the middle of nowhere. You got this wrong.
