I've heard that Donna used to professionally film select concerts during the 1978 - 1979 tours to watch and discover opportunities fir improvement. I wish that somebody would mine the Casablanca vaults to see if enough material survives to put together a Live and More" DVD.
What a TALENTED woman Donna Summer was. I can't believe this is posted here. I remember purchasing the Live And More Album. I played it over and over and over. I even had the 8 Track.. LOL! When I look at this it's like I'm back to the days where I belong. I couldn't wait for another album to come out by Donna. I'd call the record companies and torture them. I couldn't wait for a release date. The phone receptionist at the record company must of thought I was crazy, every month I'd ask for some kind of news or date. The first concert I went to was Live And More at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. It was 1979. I lived in Brooklyn. We took a taxi to the stadium. My friend and I met two of his girlfriends at the concert. We screamed throughout the whole show. I will never forget that day. As the years went by I saw her a second time in Atlantic City, 1981. I attended every show in Atlantic city through the years and at the PNC Art Center, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Westbury Music Fair, NJPAC Center and a few private shows. I've met her husband Bruce and her sister Mary a lot of times after the show. Donna Summer was and is still so special to me. I hold her very close to my heart. When I look at this footage I get the same excited feelings all over again. Please Bruce, have them release this. I am still lost without Donna Summer. I get very emotional certain days. I never get enough of her.

WONDERFUL! Please...Please...Please...get this album to DVD remastered and in all its packaged glory. 'Live and More' showcased Donna Summer in all her musical versatility beyond disco (which was great in itself). It is truly what made me fall in love with her voice and persona at an early age. I remember being enamored with the album photos while listening to this gem of a live concert. Would be such a treat to all us hardcore fans if this #1 'Live And More' double album actually existed in video form and was finally released in our lifetime. Cheers! :)

I have imagined this concert in my head for 35 years since first hearing the Live and More album. These little snippets are such an evil tease. I wonder what it would take to finally get this legendary performance released on DVD? She was in top form and incredibly gorgeous!
So - if they made commercials and they recorded the concerts - why can't we get them? What a great package DVD/Blu Ray set that would be....Live and More and the Encore! Double DVD - would sell like mad because I've been waiting since 1978 to see the concert.....it's on my bucket list and has to be in a vault somewhere!
I saw the "Live and More show in the Fall of 1978 in Upstate NY. She opened the show with "Could it Be Magic," descending the riser wearing the Japanese Kimono-style gown. After the intermission, she returned to stage with "Once Upon a Time, " wearing a Cinderella-esque white party dress, with a matching white orchid in her hair. Throughout the show, she wore the same wig that she donned in "Thank Go It's Friday," during the "Last Dance" performance. The bottom line is that during the 1977 - 1978 period, there were many variations isn how she did that show. The costumes and set list switched up from venue to venue.

If you mean if the songs on the album are in the same order as she sang them on stage, I'm not sure, but I think the answer is no. I think they took the best selected live cuts and placed them on the album. I also read once that the live recordings were selected from various shows, not just one, not sure if any of this is true though.
Karim Bennett How lucky you were to have been there my parents were dating at the time & my dad took my mom ( who thought she was Donna Summer lol) to two of the concerts . I made my world debut just in time for The Wanderer I still have third t shirts,program & ticket stubs. I wish they would release this as the powers that know it's what the fans want & it is on video the opening was shown on CNN along with snippets from the show none of which are in the commercial it was only shown once that day & I sure I'm not the only one who saw it.COME ON PEOPLE DO THE RIGHT THING DAMN!
There was disco diva Linda Clifford - there was disco diva Diana Ross - but Donna Summer tops it all in the disco world - probably the greatest disco diva ever lived. I sometimes call Donna "The Madonna of Disco Divas" with that risky "Love to Love You Baby", but everything else was great for her!
Quite honestly, I can’t fathom why this wonderful concert of the late Donna Summer hasn’t been released as of yet on Blu-ray, or DVD, or better yet released as a two sided disc accommodating to both formats.Blu-ray, and DVD with extras. Possible behind the scenes footage, and commentary. Hint Hint😜👍❤️ Considering that each of us reviewing this video clip have been lifetime fans of Donna Summer, & have invested so much of our loyalty, and support to Ms Summers, & her enormous catalog of music it would be a wonderful tribute to her memory, as well as a wonderful thank you to all of the loyal fans who like myself sincerely loved her talent, and her enormous catalog of music made throughout the decades. The release of that iconic live and more 1978 concert would be a wonderful thank you to all of those loyal fans who cherish her music so very much. Really is time that Donna's live performances were released on DVD/Bluray. Here in the UK we rarely saw Donna performing live on TV during her peak years. We were starved of these excellent shows!

I saw this show in Boston 1978. Pre Bad Girls so Try Me, Could It Be Magic, Spring Affair and 4 or 5 songs from Once Upon a Time album were still in show. Only Donna opted for a short straight shoulder length bob with bangs hair style. It was Halloween night, anyone else there? Costumes were so much better than Bad Girls tour too.

She was in Queens, NY at The Forest Hill Stadium. People were on the roofs of the buildings in the surrounding area trying to get a glimpse. It was a fun night for me. I'll always remember the magic in the air. Hopefully this will make it to DVD soon. Donna's family promises to have her new website up and running shortly. Keep checking.

Who was the regular drummer who toured with Donna Summer in the 1970s and giving us the lively disco beats? When you heard Donna's disco cover of Manilow's "Could it be Magic", while Manilow was touring in the 1970s as well, I can confirm that the drummer who toured for Manilow was Lee Hurst. He was very keen on the beats. The drummer for Summer was also very keen as Hurst. Equally good. But I got to find his name....Can all of you?
You lucky guy ! Bob your name sounds familier !!! - The music industry was better way back then ! & in my veiw the music was also a damn sight better too ! (with few exceptions) I was born early 60's so to me the golden decade for music I would say 1975 -1985 - all those different Genres you would see when the charts were published - always in the tuesday morning news paper ! - all the best fella !
In 2023, HBO showed the documentary LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA. It was HBO in 1978 who aired the LIVE AND MORE concert. Might there be a chance that a 2 DVD set is coming soon with both HBO specials on it.......?
