I like that Floyd wanted to touch gloves immediately after getting up from his slip. Guy loves to talk shit to sell fights but those little moments make it clear that he respects boxing and the people that have what it takes to get on the ring.

Mayweather was somewhat like Ali in the sense that while both talked shit to hype up fights they genuinely respected their opponents.
With Ernie Tyrell and Frazier (for the most part) being probably the only genuine exceptions in Ali's case.

Floyd actually looked up to Genaro. He had a poster of him in his room. Genaro is considered one of the best 130lb of all time. He only lost to Oscar at 135. Came back to 130 and got the WBC back and was on his 3-4 title defense against Mayweather. He didn’t have to fight Mayweather but he did and Mayweather always gives him his just due.

@@pagoteras2630Floyd broke his hands and had multiple hand injuries, he wouldn't have lasted in the sport as long as he did, especially while other guys were abusing steroids and other performance drugs. Floyd changed his approach to stay in the sport he loved.
