- Compilation of several of the dream sequence episodes of the classic 60's TV show Gilligan's Island. Dream sequences incude the Vampire (Up at Bat), Jeckyll & Hyde (And Then There Were None), Cinderella (Lovey's Secret Admirer), Secret Agent (Invasion), Pirates (Court-Martial), Stone Age Cavemen (Secret of Gilligan's Island), Old Castaways (Meet the Meteor), Prospector (Sweepstakes), Puppet Government (Little Dictator), Jack & the Beanstalk (V for Vitamins), Hospital (Postman Cometh), St. Gilligan & the Dragon, and Gunsmoke (The Sound of Quacking). It's also worth noting that the dream sequence episodes were the favorites of the cast of Gilligan's Island. The excellent cast included Bob Denver (Gilligan), Alan Hale Jr. (Jonas 'The Skipper' Grumby), Tina Louise (Ginger Grant), Dawn Wells (Mary Ann Summers), Jim Backus (Thurston Howell III), Natalie Schafer (Mrs. Lovey Howell), and Russell Johnson (Professor Roy Hinkley). The show was created and produced by the late great Sherwood Schwartz. The song is I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night by The Electric Prunes.
The cast members of "Gilligan's Island" are among the greatest television situation comedy teams of all time. The dream sequences they created are quite clever and very entertaining, and they certainly make the episodes even more interesting to watch. Their performances in these segments prove what talented and versatile actors and performers these people really were.
This is an EXCELLENT compilation, and the music accompaniment is simply *perfect*. Good job, RetroTV, really good job.
I love Lovey's Secret! Note that Thurston as the prince is wearing the same cape as Trelane in the Star Trek episode 'The Squire of Gothos' (Hey, they were both shot on the same lot!)
The dream sequences on Gilligan were my favorite parts! Great to see the actors stray from their characters and get angrier, sexier and often funnier!
Great Video! Thanks!
The dream episodes were my favorite.
To this day when a Realtor says something about an Alcove in a house I think, " We don't have an alcove... You Schnook!"
I think the vampire episode is my favorite!
Natalie Schafer certainly looked very beautiful, very impressive in that blue gown and that pompadour hair style.
Russell Johnson AKA "The Professor" has passed away at 89 due to kidney failure / natural causes. He passed away this day January 16 2014 at 5;21 A.M. at his home. I just heard the news on the radio & am shocked & saddened upon herring the news. That leaves just Dawn Wells AKA Mary Ann Summers & Tina Louise AKA Ginger Grant as the only 2 original cast members left. We lost yet another iconic figure on the small screen. My heart goes out to his family & to the entire cast of Gilligan's Island. May Russell "The professor" Johnson R.I.P.
He will be missed.
U can also catch R.J. on 2 old "Twilight Zone" episodes, "Back There", and "Execution" (I think)...
@erniehead Glad you're enjoying the video. Must've been those mushrooms growing on the island that caused all those strange dreams.
This is a truly great video; tyvm Retro!
I need my own dream episode of Ginger in that nurses outfit and MaryAnn in that blue and pink maid outfit. Yes please
You got that right.
Yes, those dream sequences are the BEST part of the series, Lord Admiral Gilligan vs. the Pirates was my favourite.
I once fantasized about Willie Gilligan/Bob Denver becoming a public librarian and a bookkeeper. I was thinking that it'd be great if he did. Also keeping certain video arcade game machines. Also own a lighthouse. "What are you trying to do? Make me a NASCAR pit crew member and make Mary Ann Somers a NASCAR driver?" I thought up of Willie Gilligan/Bob Denver uttering this to me. 🕹
Man time gos by way too fast...❤️❤️❤️
Always did love the vampire dream sequence, also remember the line that the professor says about “Our first clue, someone is screaming,” that line always cracked me up… 😏
Rest In Peace Dawn Wells 🤧
I haven't seen "Gilligan's Island" in years, but I remember "Up at Bat;" my favorite episode! Funny how Gilligan made a scarier vampire than those alleged "Twilight" vampires . . . .
Thanks for posting this.
Dude, I am SO Getting high and watching this over and over! Thanks for uploading HQ clips!!!
a really great video. perfectly edited and highly informative as well
The world would be so much better of place if Gilligan's Island were real, and I was Gilligan. :)
0:47 Tina as a cave woman would have given Raquel Welch a run for her money in One Million Years B.C.
Song is from the "Electirc Prunes", I think the name of the song, "And Then She Was Gone."
Ginger in that cave-girl outfit WOAH!!!
Gilligan's island was awesome use to watch the reruns in the early 80's while waiting for the mail expecting a package from Johnson Smith company
They don't make shows like this anymore. Sooo sad. Nice posting.
The dream episodes were the actors' favorites as well.
Best UA-cam sub ever! Perfect song! Please keep these videos coming!
My favorite dream was the Little Dictator. Hilarious episode.
Great compilation, and awesome choice of songs. I thought I was the only one who had ever heard that one.
Had that song on a cassette and listened to it during Desert Shield and Desert Storm about 25 miles south of Kuwait in Saudi Arabia. 5/8 Field Artillery, XVIII Abn Corps Arty. Medivac’d out Feb 91.
Tvland, please take note. We want classic tv, NOT reality tv!!
I have all the shows they are still fun to watch.
Too cool
lovely
IMO Dawn Wells AKA Mary Ann will ALWAYS shine over Ginger. Dawn has it all. Nice hair, nice smile, nice tan & is cute as a button. I saw on a youtube video where she was voted more popular over Ginger. Nothing against her, (Ginger) but we're all allowed an opinion. And this coming from a person who loves redheads. But with me they have to be a certain kind of redhead. And Ginger to me, just didn't fit the bill on my list. But Mary Ann even though she's no redhead in my opinion, was the WAY HOTTER of the two. IMO.
Might I suggested one small change, instead of Lovey's Secret Admirer maybe it should've been called Ginger's Secret Admirer where Ginger dreams she was Cinderella, Mary Ann & Gilligan were the evil step-sisters, Skipper as the step-mother, Mr. Howell as the courier, the Professor as the prince, & Mrs. Howell as the fairy godmother? Just asking/saying!
My favorites are the old people, jack and the bean stalk, pirate, and vampire dreams
in other words all of them
Omg I luv this show
1:53 lol Mrs Howell
well don't believe everything ya hear girlie!!!
l can't stop laughing life is good.
Nicely done!
That's because Ginger IS a dream !
Lets just forget that she is 79 years old now - shall we ?
I remember the one in which all of the characters were all old, and now the ones still alive are....
Mrs. Howell looked like a snack to Gilligan. If they were to redo it I wonder if he would go after Ginger or Mary.
Awsom e video.Thanx
That is good. Thx
Great!
& maybe Physical Fatness should've been a dream episode where Skipper dreams he was Henry VIII & enjoys eating so much!
Love it
You can watch full episodes on hulu and thewb.
Lately they've been showing Gilligan's Island on TV & they've been cutting parts out. Why is that?
This is an awesome mashup of what was ultimately "The Perfect TV Show."
You could get more hits if somewhere in the descriptor you cited the music, "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night) by The Electric Prunes."
#JustSaying
nice
Whats the song called??
lol
Why isn't this show being played on TV Land? Whoever is charge needs to get rid of those stupid reality shows and put on classic shows like this..pronto!!
AMEN, I'm glad someone besides me realizes how horrible TVLand has become today!!!!!! that channel was originally for showing only classic tv shows not stupid reality shows or horrible new shows such as Happily Divorced that are not even funny!
Gilligan's island was awesome use to watch the reruns in the early 80's while waiting for the mail expecting a package from Johnson Smith company
well don't believe everything ya hear girlie!
