Im a Swede and I have high hopes for Swedish football. So many young players with huge potential such as Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen who will probably smash the danish league transfer record when he moves to a big club. And midfielders such as Mattias Svanberg(Wolfsburg), Jens Cajuste(Reims)Lucas Bergvall(Djurgården), Yasin Ayari(Brighton) and Hugo Larsson are highly rated in Malmö. I don't need to worry about our future with the attack we have Isak, Kulu and Elanga (once our national team coach finds out who to play them properly) and many others such as Amin Sarr(Lyon), Jesper Karlsson(AZ Alkmaar) and Viktor Gyökeres(Coventry) more who will just become better through the years. In the defence we have of course Robin Olsen in goal from Aston Villa who performs well for Sweden even tho he's a second goalie in villa. He's over his thirties and may have 1-2 years before he maybe decides to retire from the national team. In the future, we have young goalie Leopold Wahlstedt from Odds BK in the Norwegian league who has the potential to be a good goalkeeper same with Jacob Widell Zetterström from Djurgården. When it comes to our back four who our national coach mostly plays. We have Lindelöf the captain mentioned in the vid. But the most promising cb right now is Hjalmar Ekdal in Burnley. Signed in January from Djurgården for a bargain in my opinion. He's done really well even scoring a goal on his debut match and only has conceded 2 goals in his 8 matches. And he'll become a big player and lean our back four in the future for sure. Other than that we have Isak Hien from Hellas Verona who might be in a relegation battle but he has potential once he moves to another club. Emil Holm a right-back from Spezia in Serie A doing well and talks about a move for him to Inter Milan in the summer. And for our right back, we have Gabriel Gudmundsson from Lille. Might not have the best season so far but the potential is there of course. I think the idea of a combined team of Scandinavia would be awesome tho it will never happen. We could make our way to a WC final with that team.

Would be intereting to see what you think a United Kingdom World Cup team line up would look like. A topic my old man constantly during World Cup season brings up in bafflment why we don't enter World Cups as The United Kingdom lol
The official reason we don’t play together is that its nations, not countries, that matters. The unofficial reason is that, if we’re being honest, it would be mostly just the England team with at most two players from Wales and Scotland, and none from Northern Ireland
Great video, just want to point out one mistake after 50-60 seconds; Norway won the bronze medal in Olympics Berlin 1936, that should qualify for a big tournament.
If Scandinavia had fielded a combined team at the 1994 World Cup, they would probably had the strongest squad at that tournament. Consider Sweden's bronze winning team enhanced with players such as Schmeichel, the Laudrup brothers, Bratseth and Mykland.
I'd say this hypothetical team could win an Euro or be in a high place in a World Cup. If everything would go well for them, they could be a rough team for anyone

Thank you!
Please make another in 2 years, it's not fair to let us wait so long next time.
Also, make a video on your analysis on the BBC melt down!
Denmark is doing something very right in producing players, imo opinion odegaard and haaland are just freak of nature talents that dont happen foten but denmark has so many more players in the top leagues than the others for some reason
Norway is and have always been a winter sport country
@@daginn896 Sweden a bit also, we are more into Ice hockey and Norway are better at all skiing almost
Great idea. Considering how small these countries are compared to all the previous winners it would be fair too.
Alfie you once made an off handed joke about a combined Mongol Empire XI but I would genuinely like to see that video.
Do the Slavs next!
Video idea:
Alfie talking about analytics in association football.
14:05 Made me chuckle, love little details like this 😄
Bruh, Joakim Mæhle on left back, the man is a beast, at least when playing for Denmark
I’ve waited 4 years for him to make more of these
Hi Alfie, would love a video discussing the Gary Lineker/BBC situation. I don't know if its too far removed from the football bubble - but I know with your research it would be an interesting tale.
Yes, a What On Earth Is Going On The BBC. The situation is volatile atm so the video could be a bit outdated when it comes out but still... interesting.
Pretty easy the chairman on the BBC was giving the position by Boris Johnson , Richard sharp is a massive Tory donor and banker who is close to rishi,Boris and others, he recently in a scandal for loaning nearly 1m to Boris for the job at the BBC. BBC is basically funded by Tory's but if your a Tory supporter like Alan sugar you can be racist or defend tax evasion like Fiona Bruce
Thanks for telling the difference between Scandinavian and Nordic
Would be intereting to see what you think a United Kingdom World Cup team line up would look like. A topic my old man constantly during World Cup season brings up in bafflment why we don't enter World Cups as The United Kingdom lol
I am interested in your UK XI now....what would it look like?
The official reason we don’t play together is that its nations, not countries, that matters. The unofficial reason is that, if we’re being honest, it would be mostly just the England team with at most two players from Wales and Scotland, and none from Northern Ireland
@@johnwhittaker311 I would still rather have UK host world cup and Scotland England Wales and Northern Ireland automatically qualify
Feel like Ryerson deserved a shout for the rwb position. Other than that I agree with the entire team
As a Swede , I’m a bit sad that Forsberg wasn’t considered here, but it’s still cool to see that the Scandinavian team is actually this strong.
Yes, definitely. A joint Scandinavian football team would be a clear golden candidate to win the football world cup.
Great video, just want to point out one mistake after 50-60 seconds; Norway won the bronze medal in Olympics Berlin 1936, that should qualify for a big tournament.
That's a pretty scary squad. It would be hard to beat I reckon.
If Scandinavia had fielded a combined team at the 1994 World Cup, they would probably had the strongest squad at that tournament. Consider Sweden's bronze winning team enhanced with players such as Schmeichel, the Laudrup brothers, Bratseth and Mykland.
Can you please do what is going on at Birmingham City?
This really puts into perspective what Norway's main issue is: defence.
Yeah, it sucks. What traditionally Norway has been good at, defence, has gone down heavily when our midfield and attack has gotten pretty capable.
I'd say this hypothetical team could win an Euro or be in a high place in a World Cup. If everything would go well for them, they could be a rough team for anyone
Completely forgot about Meahle who can play lwb
you could do this but with Iberian Nations like a Spain-Portugal combined XI
Could you please make a video about football at the 1919 Interallied games, which (to my knowledge) was the very first intercontinental football competion (even before the Olympics since the first team outside of Europe to play in Olympics was Egypt and that was in 1920).
I want a World Cup to be held in Scandinavia !
There has been a World Cup there
Think it would have to be joint with Finland who could provide two stadiums too.
@@naedot.9779 nah we’re fine with just Scandinavia, with stadiums in Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Trondheim, Gothenburg, Aarhus, Malmo and Bergen it would be all set.
@@MatSjo A euros maybe.
Not a world cup.
@@MatSjo Only Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Stockholm have big enough stadiums
Could you imagine Gyökeres, Erling and Kulusevski with Eriksen and Ødegaards playmaking, backed up by Hugo Larsson or Højbergs work rate, with a back of Christiansen, Lindelof, Bah, Mæhle or Dorgu, and Hermansen in goal
Could you do a combined celtic nations one, would be interesting to see how strong it would be
Maybe do a documentary on Dunajska Streda, best supported team in Slovakia even though they’re from a town with 22k population. Never won the league in their history, but top of the league right now! And there’s some backstory about Hungarians in Slovakia. Alfie type beat
This team looks super strong. Denmark has been quite strong on its own, but really been lacking with strikers. Ødegaard, Haaland and Isak can take this team all the way!
i would play Ødegård on the right and Eriksen on the left, and i would maybe play Østigård on LCB, but i'm biased since i'm norwegian, but otherwise good team
Yeah... Østigård could comfortably have joined this list... if it wasn't for that he plays for a Napoli, who is crushing in serie-A atm. They are about 17 points ahead of the 2nd.
This 11 and in the Squad are also Emil Forsberg, the one and only Zlatan, Sorloth, Rasmus Hojlund, Joakim Maehle, Simon Kjaer, Norgaard, Jensen and a whole lot of other class players!
Mæhle is the wingback goal king. Can’t believe he is not on lol.
Forgot about Jesper Lindstrøm. One lf eintracht frankfurts best players and he is a true baller with a lot of talent
Højlund from Atalanta should get a
shout - good team though.
That would be a sick team.🔥
4:33 doesn’t sound like an achievement to me💀
Day 1: Norway best XI if all eligible players declared for them.
Really hope Norway qualifies for the Euro's. They should have probably come second in their world cup qualifier. If their coach doesn't qualify for the Euro's he should really be replaced. As they are not just Haaland and Odegard. With also Schjledrup, Aursnes and Ajer etc.
Crazy that I (or anyone else tbh) have loved to see the day where Zlatan doesn’t even get mentioned in this
Imagine a Benelux team, or a Yugoslavia one!
Yeah I have always thought about this one, like imagine Serbia and Croatia together
There was a Yugoslavia one in the past
I guess Zlatan and Haaland would be a VERY interesting partnership, not so fun to be a centerback against them :)
Thought Finland was Scandinavian, but Alfie is always correct, saw they’re not
Now that's a team I'd like to see!
If they went to a world cup in northern Europe then it's quite possible. Anywhere with a bit of heat n no chance.
Well, as a Norwegian. I would be content just watching Norway be in a tournament... I have no memories from the time Norway actually were in a tournament
Same. Føler vi alltid klapper sammen på målstreken.
@@kjellandrebakken6775 Jepp.
I loved watching them beat Brazil in 1998. I think it was Kjetil Rekdal(?), Flo, Solskjaer, Johnsen, Berg and co. Would be great to see Norway at a tournament again.
My friend from Norways says there are some good young players coming up, and obviously Haaland already a superstar, plus WC being 48 teams now, all of which should hopefully improve your chances to make WC!
Also add in Having Haaland on the world stage (technically already is as PL watched worldwide) would be what TV/media want, as they market star players!
Really surprising leaving out Mæhle who is arguably our best player. Especially during tournaments.
Alfie would love to know what's going on at Birmingham City... Seems pretty weird
Day 4 of asking Alfie to make a video on what happened to the Barcelona U19 team who won the 2013-14 UEFA Youth League and where are they now
Now I want to see this team actually play! And a joint Scandinavian World Cup would be absolutely epic! Big up Deki! 🤍
Should try this team on FM
I figure it would be interesting to see a Gran Colombia (Colombia Ecuador and Venezuela) combined XI
a documentary on the afc Wimbledon on the nine promotions in eleven years, how they’re a fan own club and how they have a stadium in plough lane now.
The story of they lost the club, how the F A allowed that and won’t allow that anymore.
How they were very close to moving to ireland
How they went up the English football leagues.
It would be a good documentary video if you can do this. #thepeopleschannel
Sounds very interesting !
@@zuesnastrio3062 up to Alfie if he wants to do that 😊
Good video about Scandinavia countries in football
If you're looking for an XI that's a little lest pasty, picking from players at clubs in sub-Saharan Africa would be a great place to start!
Mæhle is one of Denmarks best players for the national team. If you know you know
Please do a video on Greenland at some point.
