@@teardataco8913 no it doesn’t. The mortal blade attacks chip you even on a perfect sword deflect and he can’t mess up the umbrella timing either cause a regular block would kill him too as he’s charmless. If it’s so doable then go ahead and do it
I genuinely love these cool combo mixups. So many ridiculous feints to throw off the player and some cool new ways to make attacks flow into one another. Man this game benefits a lot from modding.
There are times when I get stuck on a boss for too long and get dejected Then I watch this guy's video and gain some confidence to beat that boss and succeed. That's how my journey so far has been. Hope I'll beat Isshin one day day
Sometimes you get burn of the same fight and your mind doesn't work like you want. When that happens I left the game like 15 or 10 minutes and you feel more relaxed. If you can't with that try to do it other day or watching combat's of the original and make strategies for movements of Isshin. Ongbal is the best teacher you can get of combat in sekiro, you only need watch, understand, and not hesitate...
Even if Resurrection is the "easiest" of the three mods in terms of difficulty, I still think it's the best. Black Sword is "Hey, what if we required the Umbrella for every attack?" LMTSR is "Hey what if literally everything was batshit insane and anime?" Resurrection is the only mod that thought "Hey, people like Isshin, what if we made Isshin even more Isshin?" and created a fight that's both more challenging and actually faithful to the original without being eye bleedingly over the top.
Yeah I agree. The LMTSR one was a bit of an eyesore and it wss hard to tell what the heck was happening. The one thing I like about fights in Sekiro is that not a lot of them are over the top. Sure you get lots of lightning and fire, but for the most part every attack is discernible and able to be followed even as a spectator.
@Eric Lane yeah it's a commonly overlooked detail that genichiro/isshin using lightning actually catch it from a strike. I don't really expect a mod to preserve that though.
@@BigDBrian Actually, iirc only Isshin catches it from the sky - if you look at Genichiros lightning arrow, he literally creates the arrow, hence the forbidden lightning of Tomoe but yeah, Isshin does only catch lightning, not produce it

As many people besides me have pointed out... I think that even though all the others are more difficult, Ressurection is the best one out of them. Both LMTSR and Black Sword are like, "what if you had like, an insane fight with no breaths in between", while Ressurection was actually like, "what if we take Isshin and make him a little more challenging, with moves from Inner Isshin AND all the while balancing the difficulty of the fight". Its honestly so amazing, whoever did Ressurection mod did a really good job. It just holds the essence of what is Sekiro, and doesn't go above and beyond than what is necessary.
In my opinion, Black Sword Isshin is the best of the 3. It preserves the calmness of Isshin in first phase before turning into a wild storm like the original game.
Defeating Isshin wasn't the best victory I achieved in a Souls-like game, it was the best dance that I finally managed to match step for a step. And now I gotta do it again.
This is a masterpiece, and there is me who is struggling with vanilla Isshin 😅 I don't know if I will ever try any of these mods if I got a decent pc in the future 😅
if only it didn't end in Isshins immortality being severed, I would love to see him fall to shura. that would be a sight. I'm already in awe of how they all have a different form of the Ashina Cross skill, I'd want to see Isshins doing that in a "shura" form "Shura Cross"

One thing Sekiro absolutely nailed is the weight of the attacks. Isshin's spear especially has such a thunk to it, you can feel it in your bones
