A girl recommended me Still Life With Woodpecker. Once I read the first few pages and realized where i heard it from I was hooked. Read it in one day. Great book.
Something scares me about this but it’s somewhat calming like someone slowly explaining a dream they didn’t quite understand either. Trying to make sense of it while forgetting each detail as its spoken.
Last Lost Continent was referencing this excerpt. Traditionally, Atlantis and Mu are considered "lost continents" (though I think mu and hawaii are the same thing). Calling the lovers a lost continent is the author's way of saying that love is hard to find and currently disappearing. LD makes the same assertion in LLC which is why the name alludes to this story.
@Olivia7Ptv this whole entire recording is just a rendition of the first 2 or so pages of Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins when he refers to the lost continents he's talking about Atlantis and Mu along with other myths of that ilk. Saying one of the lost continents is the lovers he's basically saying love is something people look for but many claim doesn't exist any more or never existed in the first place.
Amazing work with after effects, first time through I thought it was the proper music video for it, and I thought it was a good one. Love the song, is making me think...
Yep, he does say inhospitable. I got the lyrics from their website, so it might be a type on my side or a mistake on their site. And you can't change video files on youtube.. ahh well :P
Sorry I know everyone has probably been bugging you about the "anser" thing but there is also "jagged and hospitable floats" its actually "in-hospitable" ^___^"
Read Tom Robbins' Still Life With Woodpecker. We are the lovers, which is the continent they talk about in track 12 of Somewhere At The Bottom of the River. Leigh-Cheri said that in response to psychics saying Atlantis would re-emerge, therefore we know Atlantis is another one of the lost continents. Leigh-Cheri also talks about one being Hawaii (which is relevant to the novel).
this probably makes me the happiest girl in the world because Still Life with Woodpecker is my favourite book in the world and this Yes I am okay with my life now
i miss la disputes old stuff. their albums such as wildlife and somewhere at the bottom of the river between vega and altair. his voice was so much more powerful then.. and i loved the sound of it,
This is truly outstanding. I love La Dispute and Still Life With Woodpecker, and now this typography. However, being the grammar nazi that I am, I noticed a few misspellings besides "anser". "concider a certain night in august" should be consider "jagged and hospitable" should be inhospitable. Fixing these would make this video perfect.
Wildlife came out after this. Here, hear is just a different style with Jordan reading poetic passages rather than screaming. I wish you would have checked your facts before writing.

It’s been 10 years and I get emotional over this song every time I listen to it
It still makes me think every few years. I still don't know the purpose of the moon.
So someone tell me why I never heard that one part at 0:38 where it sounds distorted in the background until now????
Still Life With Woodpecker. Thats the book these words are from. Fucking amazing book.
after it I got goosebumps and stumbled: "oaaaaah. beautiful"
Something scares me about this but it’s somewhat calming like someone slowly explaining a dream they didn’t quite understand either. Trying to make sense of it while forgetting each detail as its spoken.
“Jagged and inhospitable floes...”
I wish Jared just read the entire the book like this.
GOD I'd pay so much for that there's no official audio book
Love this kind of music ! Like spoken word combined with some sweet melodies. Anyone who knows something that sounds simular ?
I'm reading Still Life With Woodpecker because of this song. The firs two pages are almost word for word(:

I've read somewhere it's: Lover, Friends, Family.
0:25 Is this why the one song is called "the last lost continent"?! *o*
Yes. If you listen to Here, Hear I, II, and III you'll here the inspiration, so to speak, for the songs on Somewhere At The Bottom of the River.
Yeah, the here, hear EPs are complimentary to the LPs

Why does the Real Question send chills up my spine every time I hear it?
This is amazing. Amazing song.
Amazing work with after effects, first time through I thought it was the proper music video for it, and I thought it was a good one.

This is the best lyric video I've seen. You, sir, are an absolute genius. Well done. E
@Fjig10 It's not a poem, it's a song by La Dispute called One.
Mu, a supposedly ancient island of Hawaii is stated as a lost continent on page 75.
Wow. That was so deep
you, sir, got my respect
Still life with the woodpecker- Tom Robin's
beautiful!
Sorry I know everyone has probably been bugging you about the "anser" thing but there is also "jagged and hospitable floats" its actually "in-hospitable" ^___^"
Looking great xx
=)
@Olivia7Ptv whats the third and the first? the first is the lovers
This video is amazing. I usually don't comment on videos, so I give you props.
I think Atlantas is the first lovers are the second and the third is talked about in their song the last lost continent
@Timvanhelsdingen wonderful video, it was excellent and i loved it :)
Arguably Atlantis as referenced in this song, however the lost continents appear to deal more with human interaction and emotion. Ideas?
nice video C: this is a really good album
semi excerpt. the song quotes the book heavily whilst adding some unique lines

This is beautiful. Fantastic job, man! Xx
@Timvanhelsdingen I jep it concise great job man!!!
I love this so much wow

this is amazing! I love it♡
this is really really good!!!

this probably makes me the happiest girl in the world
because Still Life with Woodpecker is my favourite book in the world
and this
Yes
I am okay with my life now
I do too, especially before going to sleep :)
What did you make this with?
What is the third?
It's Hawaii :) sounds weird but it is aha, Tom Robbins says so in the book this extract is taken from (Y)
How did you make this video?
whats this Peom called?
I think you already know this, but this is amazing ! :D
thank you for this
this is great! :D
Read Still Life with Woodpecker to understand the concept. Leigh-Cheri talks about the lost continents a few times in the book.
this is really well done. what programs did you use?
These guys are like. Preachers, but WAY better. x3
nice video!
@Timvanhelsdingen king of buttons.
The Lovers are one lost continent but what are the others?
I've been searching everywhere for that answer and cant find shit haha
atlantis is one of them. i’m not sure what the other is.
Just want to throw it out there, I believe he says inhospitable as opposed to hospitable? Either way this was extremely well done.
@Timvanhelsdingen please make 2 and 4
i miss la disputes old stuff. their albums such as wildlife and somewhere at the bottom of the river between vega and altair.
his voice was so much more powerful then.. and i loved the sound of it,
None of it is original work, it just isn't read verbatim. It was just put in a way that made it flow with the song better.
the Here, Hear EPs are mostly poems from other people, the inspiration for Somewhere at the bottom of the river etc
I love it :)
Bravo
also you said hospitable where it says inhospitable
@Timvanhelsdingen king of buttons
Jesse Eisenberg fronts La Dispute?
Perfect :)
i think he meant inhospitable
This is truly outstanding. I love La Dispute and Still Life With Woodpecker, and now this typography. However, being the grammar nazi that I am, I noticed a few misspellings besides "anser".
"concider a certain night in august" should be consider
"jagged and hospitable" should be inhospitable.

FUCKING AMAZING
@Fjig10 Amzingness... Might as well be.. But really Idk..
Sounds cheesy, but it's Atlantis.
no joke
Wildlife came out after this. Here, hear is just a different style with Jordan reading poetic passages rather than screaming. I wish you would have checked your facts before writing.
I'm reading the book now, and the author skips it. It's up to you what the first one is, Atlantis is the second, the lovers are the third.
Very nice. The clicking throughout was a bit distracting and irritating though.
I thought this was awesome. lag or no lag, ws or no ws.
Good except for the spelling errors :/
@Olivia7Ptv Atlantis
weird eh?
holy fuck :D
Enjoyed this but there are so many little mistakes.
litterly one of the best lyrics and most amazing lyric videos ive seen... keep up the good work
