So sorry to hear that you have had some upsets - I hope your heart heals soon. I agree re the untidiness of gardens is vital. Garden is beautiful and lovely to hear the bird song, offers so much hope. Your Lungwort is so much further along than mind. Love and blessings to you and Daisy xx
Thanks so much Lovelie. I was so worried about you in the storm. Usually your garden seems to be ahead of mine but I always seem to have acouple of plants that flower early. Blessings to you both XX
Our lovely Annie, I am so sorry and saddened to hear that you have been going through a very sad time recently. Like you I find my healing in nature so all I can suggest is trying to find the joy in the magical moments that nature frequent us with. May the universe smile kindly upon you from this moment forward and the worst of the year be behind you. Your garden is beautiful and looks to be a haven for so much wildlife. I also leave my garden cleanup until mid February so our little friends have somewhere safe to stay. I always feel saddened and angered by the disregard that some humans have for animals and nature. I spent the beginning of January in battle with a company cutting down trees across the river from us. Thankfully, I seem to have won this battle but I feel stressed about them coming back. I love your bug hotel - such a good idea to hide something unsightly. I love hellebores and have so many in my woodland garden of different colours. My Daphne smells particularly gorgeous at the moment. Once again wishing you blessings, love and light for the rest of the year. Xxx
Thank you dear friend. Yes nature really does help but it is sad how selfish humans are. I have just come into the cottage from talking to my neighbour who blames me for the fact that there are rats in the area so demands I stop feeding the birds. He is going to put poison and traps done all around the place which is so upsetting. He is also going to call the council and apparently councils can fine you now for feeding the birds on your own land if they deem it a public nuisance. I will probably have to stop feeding them for awhile as it may put him off killing the rats.I am finding it increasingly hard to understand other humans so it is lovely to connect with friends on YT who also love wildlife and want to protect it xx
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 I am so sorry that your neighbour has been negative towards you regarding our feathery friends. I didn’t know that they could complain about you feeding the birds! As it’s still Summer here in Australia where I live there’s lots of flowers still blooming. My Geranium has bloomed for the first time in 6 yrs. I moved it into the sun so I’m very happy about that. Sorry about whatever you’ve been through of late, it’s so nice to see your face and watch a lovely tour of your Winter garden. Blessings Annie 🙏
Thanks so much friend. The garden is definitely helping. I'm so pleased your geranium finally flowered-that is a long time to have to wait but gardening does teach us the art of patience and delayed gratification doesn't it. Blessings to you and enjoy the Summer xx
I'm sorry to hear your heart is heavy, may your garden and it's bird song bring you healing and blessings, it's truly beautiful and your cottage is so special. I really enjoy your channel and spending time with you, I have been to a nursery and bought some hellebores, a witch hazel (yours was so beautiful) and also a corkscrew hazel as you can see I was inspired by your video 🥰 Ooh and the otter was beyond special how wonderful to see him or her I would love to see one in the wild never have yet, maybe one day. Dear Annie, so sorry to see you sad. I’m sorry for you both whatever your troubles may be. I pray for brighter times ahead. Your garden and all the signs of spring must be a great help and lift your spirits. I wonder if you have any snowdrops? They are a sign of hope and renewal as they flower so early. I love watching their delicate heads nod in the breeze. They need to be planted “in the green” Yesterday was Candlemas and it’s an old tradition to decorate the altars in churches with snowdrops on that day. Sending love and light 💕🌟
Ah thanks so much for caring Jane, we really appreciate it. Yes we do have snowdrops which for some reason don't get going properly in our garden until February. However most of the flower heads get nibbled off by birds so we never have much of a show of them even though I have lots of plants. Blessings to you xx

Goodness me, your garden is ahead of mine with the flowers. It`s great to see all the dead foliage you have left for the insects. Hello Annie, I'm so sorry that you're experiencing a lot of sadness right now, and I do hope the coming weeks are gentler to you. Thankyou so much for this wander about your garden (which is a heart balm to me) - it's so beautiful and reflects my own approach to gardening.I love how you consider all the little beings who dwell there - there's such a gorgeous atmosphere and spirit in your garden, (I can definitely hear the tumult of joyful birdsong!). Thankyou for sharing this so generously with us - you are a gift. Hugs and warmest wishes to you and Daisy, Antoinette x. (p.s - what a lovely community you've gathered here!).

Hi Annie ( & Daisy );...So sorry for your sadness & bad times, hopefully now past . We loved seeing you & your garden , so pleased it's bringing you solace . Yes indeed we have noticed the increase in birdsong & like you we feed 3 or 4 times a day ...oh & yes...we could hear them in your video 💕 We were so very pleased to see you'd posted & very much look forward to your next one . Sending our love & hugs always ...Wishing you both many Imbolc Blessings 💕💕💕🌿🌿🌿💕💕💕
Thank you dear friends. One of Daisy's Uni friends has been missing for a week (hasn't run off) so that is an ongoing worry. So happy the birds could be heard over the traffic! It gives us so much joy and comfort to connect with lovely like minded people like you. Bright Imbolc Blessings to you and much love Xx
Dear Cerridwen, unfortunately it will take me a little longer until the first flowers appear. I live on a mountain in the middle of the forest. But I am looking forward to it starting to bloom, it still takes patience ❤ Have a beautiful day. Greetings Morgaine
Thank you so much Morgaine (such a lovely name). I think living in the middle of a magical forest is worth waiting alittle longer for flowers. Blessings x
Thank you for sharing your garden with us. So beautiful! My garden is still under much snow. I enjoyed snowshoeing back in the fields behind our house, Feb.1st. Love being outside in nature. From your winter reading recommendations I have started reading - THE secrets of Wishtide, and The Woods in Winter. Two very different books but both joys to read. Thank you 😊
Wow, it must still feel very much like Winter there but sounds so magical. We are so happy you are enjoying the books. I really love Ivy-she is such a unique and unusual heroine. Thanks so much for taking the trouble to comment Lovelie x
My garden is very much like yours at the moment and I love it. I also feed the birds in the winter and have recently bought Niger seeds so have goldfinch as well as greenfinch which love the sunflower seeds. I took, part in the RSPB bird watch last weekend and saw 8 different types of bird in the hour. I have only found your channel recently and am so glad I have. I am 87 years old so have to rely on my son in law to do most of my gardening but I do what I can and he has the same mind set as me when it comes to putting wildlife first. Being in nature is a great healer and hope you will find comfort in the new life which is emerging all around us. Take care. Xx
Welcome to Cerridwen Cottage, we are so happy you found your way to us. Your garden sounds wonderful. It makes me so happy to know there are so many like minded people in the world that care about wildlife. Spring is such a hopeful time with all the new life isn't it and we are so lucky to have gardens in which we can enjoy it. xx
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing sadness. I love your insect hotel. I remember the excitement of seeing the first spring bulbs emerging when i lived in London. Always brought a feeling of hope . Its been up to 38° here and it's been a case of just watering the garden to try and prevent everything from dying. I am constantly putting out sugar water for the birds. So my garden is full of birds singing. I have put out pottery bowls for the birds to bath in. In the evening i wet all the leaves on my mulberry tree for the smaller birds to bath. I have a grape vine growing in one of my trees and the wildlife are having a feast. Wishing you both healing and peace in your garden
Thank you so much. I feel so grateful to even have a garden where I can heal. Well done you for helping the birds, it made me smile to picture your garden. Blessings x
Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us love all the lovely plants and flowers that are starting to come through it's so peaceful and yes could hear the birds singing, I have a christmas rose that is still flowering and little snowdrops that are out and miniature daffodils that are just comeing up just love spring 😊 sorry you have had a sad time sending you lots of love and hope things will get better for you soon best wishes xxxx
Thanks so much Linda, we feel so blessed to have such special friends here on YT. I also love this time of year and feel like I'm in The Secret Garden discovering something new everyday. Blessings to you xx
Dear Annie thank you so much for the beautiful video, how nice it is to see your enchanted garden, how nice it is to listen to someone who loves all creatures. I am in love with birds and trees, my garden is full of birds, I feed them all year round. Recently I bought them a lot of different food, what a joy to see how happy and calm they are about food. Last time when I was late with pouring nuts into the feeders the Great Tit knocked on my kitchen window it was amazing. When Robin first sat on my hand and ate I just cried. I hug you tightly my dear Annie and Daisy. Lots of blessings 🪶❤
Thank you for sharing your magical garden even though you are having a difficult time, the birdsong sounded so lovely and the light on the Witch Hazel looked beautiful. I also spend quite a lot on bird food but get such pleasure from them visiting the garden and getting to know all the little characters, cheeky Robins and demanding Blackbirds who remind me when I’m late with food by peering in the window. I do hope being in the garden will brighten your days and lighten your sadness, Imbolc blessings dear one. 💚
Thank you friend, I'm so thrilled you enjoyed it. Yes it's always the robins and blackbirds that are the cheeky chaps. We have a female blackbird called Trudy and a robin called Bobby who always shout at me demanding food and I love it! Being in the garden and sharing it with like minded people like you is very healing. Imbolc Blessings x
So sorry it's a difficult time and I hope things get better as soon as possible. The garden tour was lovely, thankyou. I'm really inspired by your witch hazel and may well plant one in my own garden as suggested. It's always nice to add plants that have a lovely smell, nature's perfume. I've also got Camelias and really appreciate their flowers when everything else is asleep or just waking up. My favourite are snowdrops and I'll start looking for them in our local area now. They always grab my attention, Your garden's lovely, you've done so much out there and all the different tiers make it so interesting. I love your hare statue!
Thank you so much. I would definitely recommend a witch hazel. I'm so looking forward to my camelia flowering and sharing it with you all. Our hare is called Jo March(I name everything!). I didn't have a choice re the tiers as the garden is on the side of a steep hill but it has created interest which would be harder to create in a flat garden x

your garden is just gorgeous in so many ways, a lovely habitat for the insect people and birds. i am touched by your gentle heart. i am thrilled to meet you Cerridwen.
The birdsong was the first I noticed. Such a joy! Where I live it is very quiet. Very few birds, and we are not allowed to feed because of a rat problem. What do you do against attracting rats?
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 As my gsrden is just about 5 m deep, that is not possible for me. 🙃 But I try to make the garden insect friendly and hope the birds will follow those.🙂

And to you Lovelie x
Sorry you are going through a sad time. You are correct - nature heals, so hopefully time out in your garden will be balm for your soul. Thank you for sharing in spite of your struggles. xo
Thank you so much for your kind words. It really does help to be in the garden and also to share it with lovely, like minded people x
We are so moved by your comment friend, thank you so much. It is a heart balm to us to share our life with such amazing people. Everyone that has managed to find their way to our tiny cottage are incredibly special people and we are honoured to have you all visit and connect with us xx
The work you have done in the garden is admirable indeed.
I am so happy you think so, thank you x

Thank you dear friends. One of Daisy's Uni friends has been missing for a week (hasn't run off) so that is an ongoing worry. So happy the birds could be heard over the traffic! It gives us so much joy and comfort to connect with lovely like minded people like you. Bright Imbolc Blessings to you and much love Xx
Diolch yn Fawr 💕💕💕 Hope Daisy's friend turns up ok & that the rest of the year brings only happiness 💕💕💕
Dear Cerridwen,
unfortunately it will take me a little longer until the first flowers appear. I live on a mountain in the middle of the forest. But I am looking forward to it starting to bloom, it still takes patience ❤
Have a beautiful day.
Blessings x
What a lovely trip around your little haven! It's so beautiful and it makes the heart sing to hear the songbirds in the background...thank you 💕
What a lovely thing to say, thank you. I'm so pleased the bird song was captured as it was so joyous x
We are definitely kindred spirits! It is such an honour when a wild animal trusts you-how special. Imbolc Blessings x
Dearest Annie so very sorry your having such a hard time take solice in the healing beauty of nature how wonderful to see the otter your garden looks mystical and magical ready for the warmth sunlight of spring take care sending you both much love ❤x
Thank you friend. It is hard not to feel positive when nature is so beautiful. Happy first day of spring xx
your garden is just gorgeous in so many ways, a lovely habitat for the insect people and birds. i am touched by your gentle heart. i am thrilled to meet you Cerridwen.
What a lovely comment, thank you friend. Lovely to meet you also x
The birdsong was the first I noticed. Such a joy! Where I live it is very quiet. Very few birds, and we are not allowed to feed because of a rat problem. What do you do against attracting rats?
Birdsong is so uplifting isn't it. We do have rats but I just try not to feed the birds too near the cottage x
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 As my gsrden is just about 5 m deep, that is not possible for me. 🙃 But I try to make the garden insect friendly and hope the birds will follow those.🙂
@@ennasus5964 Well done you. We can't all do everything but if we all do what we can we can make a big difference can't we x
@@cerridwencottagediary9194Thank you, so nice of you!
Your garden is so beautiful. Love the big hotel. I want to do one also. Thank you for the idea. Blessings❤
I am so happy you like it. I'm very pleased with the bug hotel and really hope my insect pals start moving in soon. Blessings x

All will be well in time. Thank you for taking the time to produce a video when, obviously, you have been going through a difficult time, it is appreciated. Look after yourselves.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I find creating the videos very therapeutic as it helps me look for all the beauty in my life x
