Hey, yeah. It's definitely more damage than War Maiden based on past research for different combos. Coral Riptide and Way of Martial Knowledge are two sets I just call the Minigame sets. For these 2 you are trading time of opportunity for more damage, and you just have to make a judgement call if you want that in your playtime. Imagine this scenario, someone starts to take a flag in IC. You have ample time to roll dodge behind cover to bring stamina down and set the combo up. There might be a stam ability that doesn't take you out of stealth you can spam, but I always had to roll dodge to bring stam down in other combos due to bar space. But for someone who just captured a flag or maybe your'e gonna attack someone in a small group who's too far from their teammates. That time you take to bring stamina down can lead to that person already being far, then you can't follow them with spring or the enemy retreats back into their group and they are much closer to possible cross heals.
This build is really creative but why wouldn't this be better on a high pen NB with incap strike? It takes a fraction of the setup and doesnt lock you into potion cooldowns and stage 4 vamp tropes? Honest question. You hit really fckn hard though.
Thanks but I don't know if the 2nd part of your comment sounds like you're suggesting a more duelisty type build? Something more like those 1vX build videos? If that was the case no, at least majority of the times since you'll revolve around crits outta stealth to kill tankier targets that are actual pvpers. This kinda goes into why my playstyle is the way it is and why I never liked those types of builds when I played them so bear with me. 1) 1vx'ing requires a fuggton more dedicated time. Setting up a build for this much survivability or maybe this much or this much and constantly adjusting it to the situation. Having to run around a tower/tree/building because there's too many people. Having to use debuffs that can be purged. Built around crits once you sacrifice stats. 2) Losing damage stats for survivability. Because you'll be setting up for recovery and defense you will pretty much stalemate in duels/fights until one of you lands majority crits in your combo. Sometimes there's just a tanky person to the point where you spent quarter of an hour to realize they're defenses are too high and/or you're damage is too low 3) The best way to make up for lost damage stats is grouping up with people which means less 1v1's in Cyrodiil 4) The amount of people that actually respect 1v1 is wayyy lower than you think. Quite a handful of people who don't attack unless provoked sure. But for my Charge Vamplar build there's only 1 time I can recall where an enemy seasoned pvper actually didn't hop in the fight when I was, not 1vxing per say more like 1 after another type fast fights, and I was so surprised and amazed after I won the fights and noticed him. 5) Trying to find a 1v1 that won't get interrupted in Cyrodiil or even Imperial City is terrible. Basically anywhere outside Stormhaven dueling area and I for sure wanna play in the large pvp zones where there's more people. 6) Even for NB's easy two hitter combo of Incap into Merciless Resolve. You can't use cloak for the guaranteed crit because any seasoned pvper will almost certainly block the follow up, so you will have to do that two hitter combo but hope that both of those big hitters crit for a potential kill. There were 2 35k+ hp arcanists in this video and I'm really unsure if those 2 would die even if both of these abilities critted with lesser damage stats. 7) You'll at least kill and 1vx pve'ers, people with potato reaction times, people who light attack the air or gankers like me when caught outta stealth, but I don't know if people really show off those kills with a genuine accomplished feeling if their goal was to show off anyway. Fun-wise It's definitely fun for me to kill all kinds of builds instead of just limiting myself to the weaker defense enemies. I've even killed some permablocking tank builds just because acuity + javelin ignoring resistances was OP. My builds also obliterate pve'ers alot faster without any ult needed. 8) If I did zerg surf with a duelisty build, there's this idea of, "wow if I was on my max damage templar build, jesus beam coulda gotten more kills for my faction" that enters my head especially if targets escape through a ton of roll dodging. 9) I can kill higher hp targets with my max damage setups alone without assistance of others. 10) The fact if I went back to a duelisty build then I'd just die to 1 all in ganker like myself(eh, depending on the balance of damage vs survivability, tanks can still survive and kill the ganker). Or worse, becoming a victim of grouped up gankers. 11) Dk's burst heal already heals for more than 30% at low hp. Now imagine 1vxing a group that has off heals constantly up along with that in mind. 12) Someone has to clean up a keep or resource if there's a tanky enemy inside after it's been taken and max damage builds help better with that. Think of it as being part of a cleaner crew 13) Some classes can just reset to full resources and hp in duels. If you did mean a max damage setup with my kinda playstyle and not a duelisty one then Yeah the combo of 120+ ult incap and vamp slap is better for an assassination especially after incap 10% dmg buff, and the amount of armor someone has to have for Onslaught to be better, or this build to be better, is lessened and you will kinda have to know the enemy to know which is better. This was more of a build for DK's specifically after the heavy attack oneshot build for DK's got nerfed long time ago where I still wanted to use DK's corrosive for something and I just barely posted it now because it's 1 setup I use from time to time since it's so unique to do. Something to also note is that not everyone is willing to save 500 ult for balorghs so do consider how much ult you use when factoring in balorghs on NB. The one thing this build has better than a max damage incap + vamp slap is potential kills after an assassination. In some of the these clips I'm killing 2 or more people within corrosive which wouldn't be as feasible with the incap setup, you'd be resetting after each kill most likely. One thing this build does worse is allowing the enemy to react outside of 1 fossilize stun. Also other note, I rarely play classes besides Templar because those other classes don't have a good opener setup from stealth without an Ult. Wayyy to long since I've played NB. Thank you for your interest and have fun.
Gg! Looks hella fun, love to see some unique playstyles ;)
thank you for your upload, always interesting to see something different, i just got one idea, how about coral raptide, think it would be more dmg?
