A little over six minutes into the video, and I immediately came to the comments to see if everybody else was going to say what I thought, let the saw do the work, it shouldn’t be bogging down that hard which means you’re putting too much into it but excellent, thank you for a good review
Nice saw, watch some chain sharpening videos you missed a few things that would help you have a better cutting experience. That saw is working you vs you working the saw. You’re at risk of injury with your current use method and your burning the bar
Everyone is right your applying to much force on your cuts. If the chain is sharp, the weight of the saw all you need to apply. If you here the engine bog down it usually because the user of the chainsaw is applying to much pressure. Lighten up on your cut pressure and you will see the chainsaw cut much faster. And maybe take your blase into the shop every ounce and a while to have it professionally sharpened.
@@hillbilly918 i had some dead wood here too that it wasnt cutting well and smoking, i ended up not even cutting it amd burning it. Crazy how hard some dead wood will get! I i just cut down a tree last week and tried out the 2 in 1 stihl sharpener! I think it helped (cutting softer tree so it cuts alot better) but made sharpening it faster for me.
No gloves, no eye protection, no ear protection, no leg protection, no foot protection, using the saw left-handed. Pretty much everything you shouldn't be doing, all in one video. I pray for you ...
I don't think I was having any troubles and it was walnut. Or you talking about the dead wood? For some reason that stuff is really hard. It like mummified or something haha
It was bogging on that log right after sharpening? You should have to lean on it hard to bog it. Get a Stihl or Pferd 2 in 1 and fix that chain and make sure the saw isn't too rich (if you pulled the limiters)
I probably need to file the raker down? These logs were also walnut (harder than what most are cutting up for firewood and two really dead trees that have been dead for a few years. They are some tough trees to cut! (the dead ones) I ended up not cutting up the dead ones all the way and just took them off to burn them instead of smoking the chain. I'm thinking about trying out some other sharpeners too! I've been looking at the stihl 2 in 1 and the timberland one.
@@thatslumlordlife There are also many diferent types of chains. Try the Duro chain from Stihl (i think Duro is the correct name, ask the dealer, its the only chain with those characteristics). It lasts 10 times more than a normal chain and even if you touch the ground with the chain it doesnt affect the cut. The only cons are its more expensive and chain is so hard you cant sharpen it with a normal file, you need to have an electric sharpener or get it to a dealer to sharpen it. I think that type of chain will help you a lot thou and i think it worth the extra money. Also with that chain you wont need to use the dogs/claws/spikes all the time because it cuts like butter so you will have a less tiring and more pleasant use of your nice chainsaw by using more the front and middle section of the bar than the back. Greetings from Greece.

The chain gets dull, people just making too big of a deal out of it! Lol it's not a fresh new chain!

My first thought. It was bogging on a 10" log. Right after sharpening you should be able to lay a 64cc saw on the log sand it should fall through it
Nice hand saw.
Great saw

saw works great
Not to b mean budy, but just put it back in the garage , don't git hurt,. And my goodness please sharpen / new chain and bar
🤣🤷♀️
For 20$ you could get a new chain. Make chips not dust.
You definitely need to sharpen that chain and perhaps a little less pressure let the saw do it's job.
I sharpen it every time i refuel, this was some hard walnut! 😌
I had that problem with black locust that had been dead for years

Stop being a pussy and get to work! Sounds like you never worked before!!
What were you having trouble cutting through the downed tree? It sounded like the engine bogged down. Chain sharp?

The tree with no bark on it.
