- There's bad news today! Mia needs to go get some shots. There's good news too, though. Those shots are required for entry into her brother's school next month! And, to make the experience at the pediatrician's less traumatic for my four year old, I thought I'd give the kids their weekly gifts after. It was a good plan - on paper! Today was still a mess! Vaccinations are so important, you shouldn't miss them or delay them. There is no medical science behind them hurting our kids; could something happen, sure but the benefits out way the risks. If you truly research and have a doctor who has been with your child since birth you will be fine, and if your doctor feels there may be a problem then trust your doctor. (If you don't trust your doctor/paediatrician - get a new one)
There are children dying in countries because they have no access to proper medical care; and it bothers me to no end the people in North America who thumb there nose to proper care, because some "voodoo doctor" with no actual medical education says it's bad.

Yes children should be vaccinated. My little girl has a severe autoimmune disease. An unvaccinated child could potentially kill her if they become infected.

I believe in vaccines, but, that said, I think the vaccines should be spaced out. Not all at once. Mia I don't blame you I am still afraid of needles.
I've always agreed with spacing them out. One vax I opted out of for mt daughter was the hpv.... It was to new and having some dangerous side effects for some little girls.

@@amenunley I agree with you it must be horrible to get so many shots at once. A family member was diagnosed with Autism 18 years ago. Family thought it was shots. They just found out that he has Pandas disease so all this time he was misdiagnosed. He suffered from inflammation of the brain maybe from strep throat?? That was never treated. My heart is broken

Are there any new treatments he can now try seeing as he’s not autistic and they now know what he’s going through? I will definitely send loving and healing prayers for your family and for the dr’s treating him.
@@amenunley As of now no treatment too late. This happens alot. He may of had a fever that went unoticed, children get sick. I had never heard of it before. I believe this happens to many children. Thankyou!

My kids are vaccinated but there are two children in our extended family severely injured by the MMR. The government does have a fund for it so it is real, even if rare. My aunt, a nurse, has spent years researching it for her grandson. She believes the MMR doesn't cause autism, but for some children it triggers an immune system response that can lead to it. Both boys, same experience, 20 years apart. Vibrant, communicative, normal and within hours they were "gone", never the same again, stopped talking, no eye contact. Seeing it with my own eyes, I have to believe there's something to it, but I am still pro-vaccination. When my grandson was born, my daughter decided (with support of the doctor) to just delay the MMR until he was 4, an age less susceptible to injury, just in case there was something in our genes. Bottom line though, vaccinations ARE important. I understand the concerns, but I don't understand any parent who chooses for no reason to NOT even try to protect their kids from these diseases. So hard to watch our babies get shots! Glad it's over for Mia!

A lot of pediatricians won't take the kids as patients if the parents refuse vaccinations. Not vaccinating your child is your choice, but it is against medical advice which tells the doctor the parents will not follow their instructions. It also puts not only their children at risk for disease, but the other patients going to their practice.
Mia is like yeah I want gifts but umm I still know I'm getting shots... vaccination is very important and has helped to eliminate or reduce many diseases which were a death sentence and now are obsolete.

So my son was born in England 24 years ago now - where does the time go? But I remember his very first vaccinations when he was brand new and he screamed like I had never heard a scream before and I got sick and threw up right there in the doctors office. I had to get my MIL to take care of my son for the rest of the day! A better vaccination story is that once we move back to the US I was asked if he was going to be given the chickenpox vaccine. I didn’t know they even had one because at the time England did not have it. I got him vaccinated that day!!

i still get almost like mia; i hate shots ; blood tests; hospital ivs and bees more than anything in the world; finally in my late 50s i got it down to where i don't go overtly psychotic when i have to get one but i empathize with mia; its not the pain; its the idea; the violation of the body boundary; whatever it is; i never lost that feeling and i had to get shots every 3 weeks for asthma when i was a kid

I am going to be honest. I am unsubscribing to this channel. I am going to stay subscribed to the main channel where Perez delivers the news. I knew going into the "unboxing/present" part of the video that Mario would cry. He cries almost every unboxing. He is so ungreatful. Giving him presents as much as Perez does isnt teaching him the appreciation that Perez talks about in THIS very video. I cant watch that kid cry anymore.

Aww... poor sweet Mia. I used to be like Mia with shots. Was like that through college. The crying when getting shots. I just got a shot a couple days ago and had to hold someone's hand but was brave and didn't cry. At least the nurse was nice. When I was younger, I cried so loud, my brother heard me in the waiting room

I make sure my kids get vaccinated and I don't regret it. I'm old enough that I know what can happen if you contract one of the diseases we have vaccines for. My mom remembers Polio and was glad when they came out with a vaccine. They didn't offer a chickenpox vaccine when I was young...ended up getting it when I was 13, and I had so many complications. I definitely want to get the shingles vaccine when I am older. Now of course, there will always be cases where someone can't get vaccines due to health issues, and reactions are a risk too. Like Perez said, consult your doctor.
I say 100% yes. I think they should be spaced out more. Which I did do. My child is 100% vaccinated. Newer vaccines like hpv I need more research on before I do it. At this point I am not getting it but he is 9 so I have time.
Do you do research on the engineering of airplanes before you get on a flight? Or research in electrical engineering when entering a home that has any kind of electrical wiring? Experts are there for a reason...their EXPERT opinion. The internet is full of misinformation and falsehoods, plenty of which are directed at vaccines and modern medicine. Many of them use seeming harmless yet deceptive tactics like "appeal to nature" logical fallacies and many are more obvious with out right fear mongering conspiracies, simply because they don't understand basic science. The internet is really a terrible place to get medical advice because most lay people don't have a fundamental understanding of basic medicine or the science behind it. Again, this is why we have experts! So that every person on Earth doesn't have to do +12 years of post-secondary education to get proper medical treatment. Typing things into Google and UA-cam is NOT research. Unless you have a strong background and understanding of proper research methodology, scouring through PubMed reading peer-reviewed science journals is NOT research! Please listen to your doctor, listen to the experts because anyone can read a webpage but if you don't understand the fundamental science behind what you're reading, then you are going to misinterpret A LOT of it. Finally, GET YOUR KID FULLY VACCINATED! You don't want her coming to you 15-20 years down the road saying she can't give you grandchildren because the HPV she could have been protected from, made her infertile, or worse...dead from cervical cancer!
@@miguelsanchez2353 I have a son not a daughter. And my research isn't just from the internet dear. And yeah, having worked on and around planes I do research them. And so, some of them shouldn't be in the air. Smh..and he is fully vaccinated against diseases. He however is not getting the hpv shot at this time. The side effects for boys are far worse than it is for girls. I'm willing to wait for improvement. As he is 9, he isn't sexually active. So there is time.
@@deevsdee498 you get my point though, right? We have experts for a reason! "Researching" from your couch at home or simply reading the vaccine insert is not research. Not to mention the dangers still apply to your son. Other kids are having sexual relations at 9 and it's not like your son is going to tell you or even plan when he decides to become sexually active. Like I said, the dangers still apply - throat, anal, testicular and penile are just a few of the possible cancers that HPV has been proven to cause, not that HPV and sterility aren't bad enough.

I find that the majority of people who are against vaccinations are too young and privileged (first-world) to personally know anyone who has died or has been seriously affected by diseases that vaccinations cure. I know someone who is paralyzed from the waist down because of polio, a preventable disease.
