So awesome, I learn something new every day! I have never used it, but thank you for sharing it, because now I will. I think it will be wonderful for hems!
Hi Tiffany! I love this product, and it lasts forever!!!! I use it for zippers but I keep forgetting to use it for pockets! Genius! Happy sewing!!!❤❤❤❤
This product is brilliant! I have used it with curved piecing - like on some small (5 inches or smaller) Drunkard's Path blocks, and it worked great. On those, I just tore off several small pieces of the tape and applied the little pieces along the curved edge, and then gently eased the seams to match before I sewed them. That is one place where you usually need to use several pins, and it's somewhat fiddly, but this SAS tape worked wonders.
I'm a little old school and I tend to baste to hold things in place, using cheap or old thread inherited from my mom that would not be good enough to use in the machine. However, I use Steam-a-Seam for hems in knits to get a great finish b/c I don't have a serger or a coverstitch machine. My neighbor doesn't sew and years ago she used iron-on tape to hem curtains - her husband's mother owns a quilt shop and he was appalled that his wife wasn't actually sewing the hems but it worked and took much less time for her!
Yes! I have used it to hem up T-shirts for my nephew (who is a Little Person). It helps to stabilize the cut edge of the knit, so that you can sew a non-wavy hem!
Well, I just ordered some of that tape! I just finished some placemats with a narrower than normal binding and the tape would definitely have made it easier to sew. I'll have it for next time. :) Thanks so much, Tiffany!
I haven’t used this but I have used wash a away wonder tape to attach pockets and zippers without using pins. It is the same concept but doesn’t use heat to attach
Hi Tiffany, I love steam a seam also. I've been using it for my knit hems before I cover stitch them. I find it really keeps them from getting wavy. I also use it for pockets. Have you ever tried Wash Away Wonder Tape? It works kind of the same but you don't have to iron it. It's not permanent but it's great for placing zippers, things you can't iron like vinyl and you can use it for pockets too. I'm sure you can use it for many things. Great video as usual. You are a great teacher.
Hello, Nancy! Thank you so much for watching! Aw, so glad you decided to give this product a try! It’s so incredibly useful! I used it last night to help hold twill tape along a knit neckline, just so handy! Hope you love it as much as I do! Thanks for sharing with me, Nancy! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
I haven’t heard of this product before but I use something similar, Wash Away Wonder Tape, a lot. Have you ever gone down the SewkeysE rabbit hole for seam stabilizers? It’s much faster than stay stitching but has many other uses.
Yes, I have this also but find it very hard to separate when using it. I haven’t actually used it much at all. For that reason. Thanks for the info I love the fabric used on the dress
Tiffany, this looks like magic!! I have a little trouble pinning and sewing bias tape around curves, such as on the neck and arm holes of Dress A Girl patterns. Do you think this tape would work for keeping the bias tape in place instead of pins before sewing?
Hello, Marcia! Thank you so much for watching and for kind comment! Oh great idea, Marcia! Yes! I think it would work really well for that! I might have to steal that idea as I hate using pins in the bias binding as well! Thanks for the great idea, Marcia! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
Good morning Tiffany. I use the same kind of product, but it's not the same brand. It works great for placing a zipper tape in place to stitch it on correctly. Thank you for sharing this item.🧵🪡🩷
I used something like it years ago. But I wasn't really impressed with it. It was more like stitch witchery on a roll. This seems to be something I may like to try.
I LOVE sewing with fusible tapes! I feel like my projects look much more professional when I use it on key areas. Thanks for sharing the info about it, sweet friend! ❤
Hello! Thanks so much for watching! Great question! From my experiences, I have not noticed the needle being sticky or ruined after use of this product. Hope this helps! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
@@hoosierhandmade22 Thank you so much for your quick response!!!! I already subscribed to your channel and looking forward to keep learning!!! Have a blessed day!
Hi, Barbara! Thanks so much for watching! You’re right, there are other cheaper options out there but this product is much higher quality in my opinion without being that much more expensive. Its worked much better for me than comparable products. Just sharing what works for me! Happy Sewing ~Tiffany

Such a great product, I use it on curved hems, helps so much to keep curve in place!

Hi Tiffany, I've used Steam A Seam and some off brands. I use to hold zipper tape down, pockets like you showed and small hems. Love the demo, thanks
Yes, zippers! Brilliant.
I use it on knit curved hem tops. First I serge then I turn up 1/4 hem using the steam a seam. So fast and so good. ❤
Yes, it works great on curved hems!

Thank you, Tiffany. I haven't used Steam a Seam, but I will in the future. Thanks for the "tutorial".
I bought some Steam a Steam , but haven’t used it yet. You seemed pretty excited about it so I thought I’d give it a try! 😄

I think I’ve used something similar to this. I need to try this one. It looked like you peeled that paper off easier than one I’ve used.
Lovely vid39 Tiffany. I haven't seen it here. I use a heming tape from Ikea for similar purposes

I have an off-brand of steam machine and I do like it I'm not sure if it's the same as the hem tape but it works well.
