We used to go to the desert every year in winter to visit our Canadian snowbird friends. For several years in a row we spent a month with them at Castle Rock Shores. A great location and jump off point for hiking, restaurants and water fun. And a beautiful area. Only problems we ever had at Castle Rock Shores were always electrical.
friends of ours have a house in new river arizona that we visit for a few in the winter months due to PA is freaking brrrr, first time we visited we went to cave creek a little biker town pretty awesome town, check it out if you never did, they actuall y have a bike week there as well
Nice video :-) thanks for sharing. We encountered a wild donkey (JA) returning to AZ after picking up our trailer - the JA decided to cross the road at night - on I-40. It totalled our truck and it was not a fun experience.
Gorgeous! Spent most of my childhood and early adult years coming here. To answer a couple of things mentioned in your video: Memorial Day weekend (and 4th of July, and Labor Day) are always CRAZY on the river!! Any weekend will of course always be busier than weekdays, but those holiday weekends are just a whole other level. Regarding the water level rising in the afternoon: this is due to the increased demand for electricity (AC, etc.) in the afternoon.
Love that you can take the river to breakfast.
Lots of choices to stop too. :)
Thanks for those videos brought back some memories I grew up on the Colorado River Parker we used to camp at Echo Lodge back in the 50s 60s
I bet you have some good stories! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Very cool trip! Loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The water on the river looked crystal clear!!! I hear you were able to help out a last minute guest with a spot at that camp site !
The water was SO CLEAR! Sometimes the stars align to help someone out! :)

Oh my! That sounds awful! Guess it earned its name that day! Hope your new truck is even better!

Thanks for sharing your input! I didn't even think of the electricity demand! Thanks for watching!
There are more wild donkeys in Arizona
So fun to see! :)
