About 50yrs ago i slid in the back door at Fillmore West, Don Nix tossed me a beer which i inhaled along with guitar music and vocals. The next few weeks i was the kid from Kansas that hangs out upstairs. The way yall played tonight brought tears to this old man's eyes. God bless you all. ⛳
Southern Rock will NEVER DIE as long as Blackberry Smoke exists!! Thank God!! These men are just phenomenal, and in concert it's like your all friends getting together. Great to their fans!!
Re-watching. That's some really excellent filming and sound. Appreciate seeing Brandon on the keys close up. Damn Charlie is brilliant! RIP Brit Turner 3 March 2024. Thanks again for sharing. A big merci from France.
Great concert the only way it could have been any better for me is being there when it was recorded. This brought back so many great memories of the Allman Brothers Band and others. Just maybe, maybe I'll get to see you all 1 more time before the great mystery is reviled to me. Thank you guys and keep on keeping on.
My wife and I were there. Left side about 10 rows up. First Smoke show and first Red Rocks show. Absolutely MAGICAL! My second Smoke Show was standing in the center touching the stage at Hard Rock Tulsa. I'd have been able to shine Charlie's boots if he and the band weren't socially distanced 8 feet from the edge of the stage. We're going to see them "open" for Turnpike Troubadours in 30 days (even though I'm going to watch the Troubadours encore for Blackberry Smoke lol!) I went to college with some of Turnpike 18-19 years ago so it's gonna be a kickass show either way even though seats are several sections. But man we've been fortunate to see them in such great settings. I didn't discover BBS for myself until not long before this Red Rocks show. I just happened to look up who was playing at Red Rocks when we were headed to the Rockies on vacation. It was an amazing trip, but the cherry on top was this night that we flew in a drove to watch this show. So awesome to have it on video to watch over and over!!!
Setlist: 1. Spooky - (Atlanta Rhythm Section cover) 2. Tuesday's Gone - (Lynyrd Skynyrd cover) (with The Wild Feathers) 3. Grits Ain't Groceries - (Titus Turner cover) (with Jimmy Hall) 4. Just stumbled on here. These guys are great. Many memories for me. Thanks Boys. The Masks & the Braves Jerseys reminded me of the Baseball Furies in the movie " the Warriors "
I discovered BBS a few years back..... I love their enthusiasm.... stage presence.. and humility... in life and on stage.. I have a dream that some day I will walk into a diner. There will be Charley on the grill ... Bradley will take my order .. and all the rest of the back of house is comprised by these band members. My food arrives and all of a SUDDEN they break out in music and I start dancing. The WHOLE DAMN DINER STARTS DANCING WITH ME TOO/ TO / TWO .. however you choose. Then when I get ready to eat my homemade coconut cream pie.... The LIGHT appears and the pearly gates of HEAVEN open up ... then commences a MUSIC FEST THAT LASTS FOR ETERNETY. No I am not stoned... YET Enjoy BBS while we got 'em.... Merry Christmas / Happy New Year / Happy Birthday to ALL 12/23/21 :)
@@francescozappa5915 Thank ya Fran.... I am just now back from a week on a Cruise ship... I was relaxing with a glass of whiskey and 3 ice cubes @ the time of that comment and stand by that comment still 🤠🤠🤠
One of the most emotional times I ever had in my life on stage was playing with Jack Hall in a small club in Columbus Georgia. These moments don't happen every day. Good to see Jimmy still bringing it!
Love everything about BBS, musicianship, homage to the roots and generosity to the groups that open for them. See you in Vancouver in March (fingers crossed) and bringing the kids.
Sounds perfect !! I love Benji on slide so much. He is great at that. The guest appearances are fantastic too ! I wish I were there. Ya'll look great in the Atlanta shirts and hats too. Nice !!!
They were dressed as the "Baseball Furies" a street gang that the Warriors were fighting in the 1979 movie "The Warriors". Lol. That is wild man. Do they like to cook ? It would be pretty cool. I'd take that over the way things are now, any day !!!

Great great great band
The fact that they can perform despite the masks says a lot about their commitment to their fans
Is this available on cd/dvd?
Why the masks? Am I missing something? Love BBS and this cover from ARS.
