Nice to hear you talk about this one. My only question about the controller is "what's the difference in latency between this and the usb-c version" - Did you talk about latency? I can't find it in the video.
The Type-C does feel better, the bluetooth version is reliable but clearly showcases a bit of latency. Not alarmingly so but if you are sensitive to it, I would expect that you would feel it a little bit.
S-tier review. I remember stumbling across the X2s Bluetooth a month back while looking up a tutorial on GameSir's website; but, I had no idea that this controller was going to be debuting so soon. I'm not sure why they're going for a soft launch even softer than Charmin, but, I'm not their CEO. I have a GameSir X2 Pro. It's the first X2 with analog triggers (ALPS sticks though) and it has Xbox branding. It's wired and it still works great. Most of my gaming is old console emulation done on a phone, so, it's easily my most used controller. It has a couple of quirks though. The first quirk is that it requires the phone you're pairing it with to support USB Power Delivery 2.0 in order to pair. While that's no problem with a flagship, even an older one like my long serving LG V35, many manufacturers will quietly cut PD 2.0 to save a few pennies on their midrange and value models, so caveat emptor. And it's not who you'd think either; my prepaid Galaxies and Motorolas don't support it while the free Blu phone my carrier recently gave me with an unlimited card purchase does. The other quirk is that it only works in HID. I'm very happy that you mentioned in your review that this unit can spoof other controllers. While I don't do a ton of native Android gaming, I have ran into a number of Play Store games that do not fully support the HID standard. An example that matters to me is "Grid: Autosport", which doesn't recognize the analog triggers as analog. It will work perfectly when paired to my GameSir Nova Lite using Dual Shock mode. But, that's a different type of controller that's not always feasible to use. Because of these two quirks, I've been waiting for an X2 Pro Bluetooth to hit the market. And, it never has. It probably never will. But, this X2S BT is close enough. It's missing the rear buttons (which I map to L3 and R3, so not a huge loss) but otherwise seems to be right there with my old Pro in terms of feature parity. In some ways (Hall Effect sticks) it's probably better. I don't notice Bluetooth latency, even when I intentionally look for it. I thought a direct wired connection would make me a better gamer and, honestly, it really doesn't. When it comes to gaming I'm like a nurse shark at dinner time. Thank you for this review and for the giveaway. I hope I win. If I don't, then I should probably buy one. I keep thinking I'm going to buy a nice Android retro handheld and be happy; but, I never do. I'm all talk and no action. A big part of why I don't is that repurposing old Android phones makes a lot of sense. They give me a big screen, big battery, an SoC that's usually a lot better than what you'll find in most sub Pocket4 Pro handhelds, and the price is right. Plus it makes me feel good because I'm giving new life, or a greater purpose, to stuff I already own. The three Rs of environmentalism is Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. So, if I'm going to reuse these old Android phones then it makes sense to get a Bluetooth telescopic controller, like the X2s, that's pretty much guaranteed to be compatible with everything I'll ever own instead of rolling with one that's only compatible with a few things.
I remember you making a post about one of those phones you are referring to, it was a very cost efficient solution, like a 45-50$ phone. I remember vividly cause I Google'd that phone when I saw your post, don't know if it was on one of my videos or maybe Retro Handhelds but all I know is that phone could not be bought in Canada. You really are proving to be a connoisseur of Android gaming, both current and legacy, most people don't even know what HID mode is, you are here breaking it down as well as PD protocols. I salute thee! 🫡 This whole post is :chefskiss: honestly. And that 3xR is something I need to do more in my life, I appreciate the ones that do. Sincerely, I hope the RNG favors you when I pull the name for the giveaway. Thanks Matt, your presence embellishes my days! :)
That's cool. I have the old X2 Bluetooth and it is very nice that they launched a new one with hall-effect and analogue triggers and cheaper than other versions 👍
¡Ten paciencia conmigo mientras uso Google Translate! ¡Muchas gracias por las amables palabras, aprecio mucho el apoyo y me alegro de haber sido de ayuda! Salud :)
This is the exact controller I need, since g8 is too big for me for portable carry. Also bluetooth one is much more friendly for phone cases. Thx for a review
it's a great controller I think the only things I would have changed. is I would have changed right thumb stick and button placement so they are swapped. also make the buttons a touch bigger by like 3 mm
Good video. So, it is a regular controller, you think is a good option or recommend to spend the extra for the g8, I want to buy one to use it with my xiaomi pad 6 and was thinking about the cheaper option, but you think this x2s Bluetooth is worth it ?
Jokingly, but not really, it's like deciding between joycons and the Switch Pro controller. Not that the joycons suck, they are good but if you can play with the Pro controller instead, it should account to a more pleasant experience all around. That's the X2s vs the G8 in a nutshell.
Good informative videos I must say… Kindly answer the below queries with respect to g8plus and x2s Bluetooth: -Bluetooth version -difference in the trigger buttons -ergonomics or feel in hand (I thing I saw on there website that g8plus is better for big hands). - can the both work on wired mode (C to C) if there is some big size tab. Thank you
I'm unsure I understand all the queries you had but here goes: -Both G8Plus and X2s BT are indeed bluetooth controllers -Both have analog triggers but the G8Plus does have better quality and feeling ones -G8Plus feels like a living room console controller, with the more "ergonomically" and comfortable design. Still, the X2s BT remains amongst the more comfortable solutions for a "pocketable and highly mobile" telescopic controller solution. -Both can work wired, however the G8Plus will more comfortable stretch for larger tablets 11" and over, also the G8Plus has more modes for a potentially better compatibility overall. X2s BT if stretched beyond 10" tablets (still capable to) will find itself never fully closing because the coils are going to be stretch a little too wide. My pleasure, cheers!
@@GameTechTalk great… Started following you from a couple of days… just a suggestion- why don’t you take up like a one person call centre for gamesir queries, in association with gamesir… even there instant chat were unable to answer these queries and took hours to reply… 😊 However I was asking about the Bluetooth version like 5.0 or 5.3?
@@shitijsinghal6146 Thanks for the follow. As for the gamesir call center, I'll see if they are willing to give me a big fat cheque and maybe then we can talk! 🤣 That's a great question, I no longer have it with me but I remember vividly that I could not get that information no matter where I looked, and believe me, I did. With that said, based off of performance, I would easily put my money on it being 5.0. That was not performing like a 5.3 like the G8+. Thanks for the follow btw! :)
I have the x2s USB-C, and the price point for the Bluetooth version is great! But I found the original to be a bit too small, even for someone who doesn’t really game that often like me. I’m really considering the G8 Plus, but again, I don’t game that often, so $80 seems a little steep, so I’m stuck in the middle.
If you want slightly bigger, emphasize on the slightly, but want something very cost efficient, I’d say go M05 or M15 from EasySMX. Great alternatives.
I had mentioned this on a prior vid of yours (the one where you reviewed all the telescopic controllers you owned and ranking them) but I have been awaiting something to replace my G8 as I have a Surface Duo and it bugs me having the screens not in the proper DS orientation. After seeing this one along with the other review on G8+, I’m wondering if bluetooth is the right way to go or if I should go for the X2S with the usb-c on the left… I’m conflicted for these reasons: I love the ergonomics of my G8 and I definitely prefer the all black look of the G8+.. but it’s a touch too expensive to rebuy another G8 and also, I do prefer the look of the smaller foot print of the X2S… The Bluetooth X2S shown here has an amazing color scheme but loses out on many features of the G8 The USB-C X2S has my least favorite color but it is wired.. What sucks is that none of these bluetooth options have pass-through charging like my G8 and no headphone jack…. Sigh, such few options but there’s no definitive champ yet for foldable phones.
Ahh that is the one struggle with options isn't it. That there never seems to be one that perfectly aligns with everything we want. With that said, hold off a few days, you could win this one who knows! Good luck! :)
Amazing review! But I have a question, between this and the easysmx m10, which controller should I get? I am looking for a cheap telescopic game controller...
Personally, I’d probably go more M10. The X2s is good, great even but overall, the M10 is better so unless you’re after specifics such as the color scheme, or wireless, or tablet mod, the M10 is about as comfortable but also has rumble, direct connection, charging pass through, etc.
Very curious about these types of controllers as of recently, so been going through many videos on them as to pick one. This one left me wondering specially on which version was the better one, given they're the same price on AE (Gamesir official store). May order the Type-C version for no latency concerns.
If you're on Android, I would also recommend the Type-C but ultimately, it wouldn't be enough so that I'd compromise having this color scheme instead. Yup... I need to revisit my priorities 😂 :3
The M05 does have software but it's not proprietary. The M10 doesn't. Still, all these controllers can rely on third-party software such as Mantis or Octopus. That said, my rankings rely primarily on ergonomics, buttons, quality and overall performance, software is a component but definitely not as important (for me at least). "Cheap" is relative. Tessen at 100$? Definitely cheap. (review coming shortly) EasySMX M05 feeling on-par at 30$ (some even find it at 20$), that's not cheap, that's great value. You know... I have been tempted to update tier lists because things have been moving quickly lately... I feel like if I commit to making them once a month, that's all I'm going to do so I will definitely hold off longer but rest assured that it won't be a year before I make another one. Clearly people love tier lists and I appreciate making them, I'm just waiting to have new models. I'm thinking one every 3 months would be feasible, what do you think?
@GameTechTalk Sounds fair obviously you know more than me because I don't own it. So I mean maybe your right it probably does belong where you placed it because I saw another review and people said it's a upgrade to the Kishi V2 with better buttons, ergonomics, hall effect joysticks just minus the software, touch mapping and premium feel. I think 3 months is good for tier list I think this year just had so many new releases in the mobile controller space that everyone is looking for reviews. Gamesir went crazy with the G8, X2s, G8+ X2s bluetooth, also Kishi Ultra, SMX M10 these all came out recently I feel, probably won't see these companies drop something for a while now. This place was dead last year or 2 years ago it was just gamesir x2, kishi v1 and the backbone.
Great video, just what i was looking for. Other reviewers weren’t covering this controller, specifically the bluetooth one. I have a couple of questions though. Does it support xbox Game Pass? And how's the gaming experience compared to the usb-c version? Thanks!
It does support gamepass and I would say the latency wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t phenomenal either. For casual gaming, go for it. For competitive, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
Great review. Personally I'm still debating on if I should upgrade my android controller, I bought the OG Gamsir X2 (the one with individual buttons for the D-pad) like 2 weeks before the d-pad version was announced, and it still kinda works. But Gamesir has really been coming out with a bunch on options this year, so its hard to decide which, if any one of them I should get. Here's hoping i can get a free one.
Not quite no, not without some kind of insert or padding. That is of course unless you are talking about a folding phone, those would work just fine on both orientations. Cheers! :)
For most platformers, it's totally fine. If you are speedrunning Super Meat Boy and Geometry Dash, plus stick to the X2s Type-C. But for leisure gaming, convenience of the X2s Bluetooth is definitely superior to the Type-C equivalent and the latency, while higher, is not terrible, it's just a very very little present.
I have a 8bitdo Bluetooth controller which is great and works with Wuthering waves on IOS, I’m looking for a telescopic one that’s Bluetooth so it can fit my iPhone while the case is on. If this doesn’t work with Wuthering waves, it’s a deal breaker.
Sadly, I gave this one away in a giveaway so I wouldn't be able to confirm, however, one reason why I'm inclined to guarantee that it will is because of how MFi works on Apple devices. If the controller is accepted, it goes through the MFi protocol which basically means Apple accepts the controller, then, Apple dictates where the controller can or cannot work. As far as I know, anytime a controller gets through MFi (which the X2s Bluetooth does 100% guaranteed), it works for every software that officially supports a gamepad. If you can, get it from Amazon to refund in case it don't work. But if you were sitting next to me, I'd bet you $50 that it's gonna work because I know it would be easy money made, that's how certain I am that it will work.
iOS Supports X-Input but only wirelessly. I did a whole video addressing MFi and how it works and why certain controllers will work wireless and not wired. Quite frankly, I thought they would've patched it in by now but Apple doesn't bend to nobody's will (Except the European Council 😂). In case you're interested in that video: ua-cam.com/video/OfnYvBLiT9w/v-deo.html
@@GameTechTalk Interesting. I’ve noticed similar issues with games predating 2019 that had to use the MFi standard, before Apple implemented more general controller support. A specific one is Shadowgun Legends. MFi controllers work fine, but keybinds are severely messed up on PS controllers.
Is the latency that noticeable for the BT ver? I mainly play wuthering waves and zzz rn. But also play cod sometimes. If so do you have other suggestions for budget friendly BT android controllers. Tbh my only reason not wanting the usb ver is bcs of the color 😂
It's definitely bearable but I think in super modern BT controllers, this one sits at the entry level of acceptable performance, it is not G8Plus and while the latency shouldn't be noticeable in most games, I wouldn't want this controller for competitive mobile gameplay personally. But for leisure and just fun gaming in and out, I would be 100% ok with it. So WW and ZZZ, sure no problem, COD, idk.
@@GameTechTalk i see. Then compared to easysmx m5/m10 which is better? Gamesir or easysmx? Cuz i found both models for easysmx at a cheaper price than the gamesir x2s. Tho i just watched your review on easysmx and the BT is a bit weird since it doesn't have a battery and needs external charging. Cuz playing WuWa and zzz is a bit battery draining so draining it even more with the non BT controller is a bit of a trouble.
@@megatbasyarullah4859 Well, seeing as EasySMX M05 and M10 both have a wired connection primarily, I'd say you'll have a superior experience and from where I stand, I consider the M05 to be better than the M10 and better than the X2s BT and X2s USB-C. With that said, the BT mode on the EasySMX controllers are about on part to the Bluetooth on this one, it's more of a: "Oh nice, it's there" than a "This is what I want to use by default". If it is important for you that Bluetooth is your main connection method, I think the X2s BT will serve that better overall. The M05 would be better if you like the thought of keeping your phone plugged while gaming.
Make sure you're on the mode that can connect, I talk about it during the video. If that is not the issue, I'm not quite sure what it could be, I would try wired to see if that fixes it. If it does, delete the controller off of your bluetooth and re-do the entire pairing process. Cheers!
I no longer have it, I gave it away in giveaway but I can guarantee that it's feasible as long as Wuthering Waves does have native controller support. If it is, it's going to work.
I no longer have it with me but from memory, I don’t think it did. Or if so, we’re talking like the definitely lower end of what is considered fast charging.
Does this work with older model iphone like iphone 8? Or older aandroid phone like Samsung J5 pro, because I have those phones lying around and I want to make those phones live again by making it become an emulator machine, if I buying the type c I only use it on my iPhone 15, but I need something versatile that can connect to every device but still cheap enough
As it is bluetooth, the "if" is far more dependant on the OS of your device, than the device itself. Android has supported controllers for quite some time but I can't say I remember which version of Android specifically, as for iOS, since iOS 12 if I recall? So as long as you are on recent firmwares, yes, it will work guaranteed. If you're unsure, do a quick Google search for "controller support android X" with the version you're on and you'll know in a matter of seconds.
I mean it could but you would need spacers, it doesn't close tight enough on it's own to work with most phones. The one exception might be foldables but unfortunately, I no longer have the controller with me to test.
Does anyone know if it is compatible with RetroArch on iOs? I can use my PS4 controller and Xbox controller like normal but am looking for a handheld/compact way to play while travelling.
It cannot no. The PS Mode, I think, will connect to a PS4 and PS5 and but will also disconnect shortly after as the Playstation verifies for unlicensed products.
I want this controller for one reason only ... to play damn Hoyoverse games! Specifically Honkai Star Rail. For some reason, Hoyoverse just won't make native controller support for their mobile games. I attempted to map the USB-C version, but it is really finicky and somewhat compromises on navigating menus. Hopefully this one works so I can finally have a way to play without needing to jump through hoops.
I bought the X2S type C for my Z fold 6 specifically to play COD Mobile and no matter what I do I can't get it to recognize the controller natively. Yes you can use G touch mode with the gamesir app but that's a terrible way to play as the functionality is awful. Does the X2S BT suffer the same issue or does it come up as a natively supported controller in COD Mobile on an Android?
That is because on Android, Tencent/Activision had the brilliant idea of only allowing Backbone One controllers to work (wired) so for you to play COD:M on your Fold 6, you would've had to bought the X2s Bluetooth. The X2s wired (or any other wired controller that is not Backbone) will not work. :(
It's not on-par with the G8+ performance, I can tell you as much. It's average bluetooth upper tier performance but nothing special. I benched 12ms latency average. But if we remove jitter out of the equation, it's an 8ms performing controller so 125hz polling rate but doesn't hit it steady like their latest controller. Also, wired on Xbox mode, it polls at 500hz 😱 that sure was a lovely unexpected surprise but I forgot to include it in the review... 😫
The controller does not have an Xbox controller profile, only PS and G-Touch. However, it still works fine on Windows and you can use a translation software on Windows as well to "convert" the signal into an Xbox perceived controller. Software "Handheld Companion" can do this for you.
You cannot, or at least not without some kind of insert to make it hold onto the phone. Otherwise, the gap is too wide for just about any phone in portrait (except Folding phones of course).
I don't have one to test myself but knowing GameSir's attention to detail, and strong ties with Chinese brands, being one themselves, I am 110% certain it would work without issue.
Not a dumb question at all, this is becoming more and more of a feature. Unfortunately, it will not. From GameSir at least, the sole model to do this effectively is the G8+ but I wouldn't be surprised if future models support that feature too.
A hidden one I believe but it's meant to be used with a dongle that is sold separately. I'm not 100% sure on this as I don't have this controller anymore to test but all the recent GameSir controllers have had that hidden mode, I believe this one does too.
Desculpe
Hey from Canada! Almost traded my Fold 4 for the OnePlus Open, not going to lie, I regret not having jumped shipped but oh well... I would definitely recommend to go for the G8+. You simply can't go wrong with that controller, it is the absolute best that the market currently has to offer.
It's a good controller except for the fact it's so hard to pair it with my phone and once I have paired it, then it's hard to auto-connect. I have to turn on/off bluetooth on my phone a few times to successfully connect it. So annoying. I never had this problem with any of my bluetooth controllers before There's also a bug where the controller keeps disconnecting on firmware 1.2. It could easily be fixed with firmware update (though it still disconnects sometimes when you launch a game in g-touch mode)
Sorry to hear you're having these issues. I don't have it anymore but from souvenirs, it was decent, lovely color scheme, with that said, it wouldn't be my "go to" personally, but I understand why it might for some people. Unfortunate that you're having issues though! :(
I'm sorry to say that I don't have that info. I couldn't find how many mAh it has anywhere, not even on the box or manual. The unit I used for the review has been repackaged as I will soon send it for giveaway but I did test approximately 6 hrs with it to no problems but to tell you how much was left, I completely forgot to look in all honesty. Sorry for that.
It does but not to an unpleasant degree. I do wish to specify that even wired does have some delay, not perceptible but it does, so to give you numbers for example, most wired controllers are 8ms (though we're starting to see 4ms and 2ms), this controller is approximately 10ms. Still better than most bluetooth controllers of the past 2-3 years but there is also better (3-4ms bluetooth delays in some controllers). Cheers! :)
Not exactly, there is no x-input mode per say but with BetterXcloud, that problem is completely resolved. So yes you can, with the right software, BetterXcloud.
I tried the X2s (non bluetooth) with my iPhone 15 Pro and couldn't get Genshin Impact to work with it. I never found a solution so I returned it. Does this one work with Genshin Impact?
I tested it just now, it does work. The controller you had was probably stuck on the wrong mode. GameSir addressed that with this one, I didn't mention it during the review but they now detect that it's an iOS based phone and they force you into a compatible mode specific to iOS (something the X2s didn't do, you had to manually change it). I'd say if you liked the shape of the X2s, rest assured that every other iOS based issue you had are gone with this one.
@@GameTechTalk Thanks for testing that out. I thought I had tried the different modes when I used the X2s but I must have done it wrong. I also didn't like how I needed to take my phone case off to use the X2s so I'm liking the idea of the Bluetooth version. Now I'm on the fence between this X2s Bluetooth or G8+ Bluetooth.

This whole post is :chefskiss: honestly. And that 3xR is something I need to do more in my life, I appreciate the ones that do. Sincerely, I hope the RNG favors you when I pull the name for the giveaway. Thanks Matt, your presence embellishes my days! :)
Tab s9 plus owner who is always here for the tablet sections of the reviews!
Thanks for being here! Always happy to bring fresh content!
That's cool. I have the old X2 Bluetooth and it is very nice that they launched a new one with hall-effect and analogue triggers and cheaper than other versions 👍
Couldn't agree more!
¡Ten paciencia conmigo mientras uso Google Translate!
¡Muchas gracias por las amables palabras, aprecio mucho el apoyo y me alegro de haber sido de ayuda! Salud :)
Like always, great review. And of course giveaways are always welcome! 🤩
A thank you, and a good luck! :)
This is the exact controller I need, since g8 is too big for me for portable carry. Also bluetooth one is much more friendly for phone cases. Thx for a review
With great pleasure!
it's a great controller I think the only things I would have changed. is I would have changed right thumb stick and button placement so they are swapped. also make the buttons a touch bigger by like 3 mm
You're right, bigger buttons would be more comfortable for sure but WiiU gamepad layouts? Yes please!
@@GameTechTalk Got it good example!! Appreciate it 🙏🏽
Good informative videos I must say…
Kindly answer the below queries with respect to g8plus and x2s Bluetooth:
-Bluetooth version
-difference in the trigger buttons
-ergonomics or feel in hand (I thing I saw on there website that g8plus is better for big hands).
- can the both work on wired mode (C to C) if there is some big size tab.
Thank you
I'm unsure I understand all the queries you had but here goes:
-Both G8Plus and X2s BT are indeed bluetooth controllers
-Both have analog triggers but the G8Plus does have better quality and feeling ones
-G8Plus feels like a living room console controller, with the more "ergonomically" and comfortable design.
@@GameTechTalk great…
Started following you from a couple of days… just a suggestion- why don’t you take up like a one person call centre for gamesir queries, in association with gamesir… even there instant chat were unable to answer these queries and took hours to reply… 😊
However I was asking about the Bluetooth version like 5.0 or 5.3?
@@shitijsinghal6146 Thanks for the follow. As for the gamesir call center, I'll see if they are willing to give me a big fat cheque and maybe then we can talk! 🤣
That's a great question, I no longer have it with me but I remember vividly that I could not get that information no matter where I looked, and believe me, I did. With that said, based off of performance, I would easily put my money on it being 5.0. That was not performing like a 5.3 like the G8+.
Thanks for the follow btw! :)
@@GameTechTalk thank you 🙏🏻
I have the x2s USB-C, and the price point for the Bluetooth version is great!
After seeing this one along with the other review on G8+, I’m wondering if bluetooth is the right way to go or if I should go for the X2S with the usb-c on the left… I’m conflicted for these reasons:
I love the ergonomics of my G8 and I definitely prefer the all black look of the G8+.. but it’s a touch too expensive to rebuy another G8 and also, I do prefer the look of the smaller foot print of the X2S…
The Bluetooth X2S shown here has an amazing color scheme but loses out on many features of the G8
The USB-C X2S has my least favorite color but it is wired..
@@GameTechTalk Wait, this thing doesn't have rumble?
@@psp4gamer Nope it does not. Rumble in mobile controllers remains extremely recent.
Love the colors on this one .
Right? They nailed it, I'd jump on a G8+ with that color scheme!
I have this same controller, I love it!
You got good tastes!
We need a updated tier list ! i heard the SMX controllers feel cheap and don't have software so i think you might've ranked them too high brother.
@GameTechTalk
Sounds fair obviously you know more than me because I don't own it.
Just got mine today. I'm gonna be tryin it out. Thanks a lot for the help, I really appreciate it! 🙌Wasn't subbed, but I am now😅
Dumb question but can you use this controller whilst using wireless ear buds. S24 ultra. merry Christmas 🎅
Not a dumb question at all and yes you can but you may encounter interference, not guaranteed, not likely, but it might.
They’ve come a long way! And who’s to say, you just might have a new one soon! Good luck 😊
Thanks for the great review!
Is it able to fit phones in portrait orientation for DS emulation?
Not quite no, not without some kind of insert or padding. That is of course unless you are talking about a folding phone, those would work just fine on both orientations. Cheers! :)
How's the latency compared to the USB-C one? I mainly want a controller for games just like shovel knight that require fast input. Is it viable?
@@GameTechTalk I went ahead and ordered one, I tested it and it works great. I wish I bought this instead of the backbone.
Kinda surprised the wired X2S has issues on iOS since iOS should already support X-Input
iOS Supports X-Input but only wirelessly.
@@GameTechTalk i see. Alright then. I'll look up for the m05 first. Thanks for answering 🙏. Helps a lot.
Hi mate I can’t pairings with my iphone 15 . Could you help to connect with my phone .
Make sure you're on the mode that can connect, I talk about it during the video. If that is not the issue, I'm not quite sure what it could be, I would try wired to see if that fixes it. If it does, delete the controller off of your bluetooth and re-do the entire pairing process. Cheers!
Could you let me know if it’s possible to play Wuthering Waves on an iPhone with this device?
I no longer have it, I gave it away in giveaway but I can guarantee that it's feasible as long as Wuthering Waves does have native controller support. If it is, it's going to work.
I have a phone with 168.6 mm length. I wonder if it will still fit without that easter egg mechanism? Thanks
It will yes!
I'm jonesing for more G8+ videos!
And I can't stop thinking about making more so I might just be serving what you're craving for in a couple of days! 😊😉
Game Tech Talk does it support quick charge with bluetooth controller I was wondering thanks.
If you're unsure, do a quick Google search for "controller support android X" with the version you're on and you'll know in a matter of seconds.
can it support support your phone in vertically. Nds and 3ds is my jam as of late
I mean it could but you would need spacers, it doesn't close tight enough on it's own to work with most phones. The one exception might be foldables but unfortunately, I no longer have the controller with me to test.
Hi man! great video!. Quick question, Do you know if I can use this for either xbox remote play and xbox cloud gaming?
Yeah you can! Also, I tested recently using something called BetterXCloud, great tool for Xbox gamers!
@@GameTechTalk Thanks a lot! will buy one then😄
Is there any delay if gamesir x2s Bluetooth? I need no delay, do you have recommendations?
The delay is very minimal but it’s not one of those top performing solution like the G8+ is.
Nice review, might consider to pick this up, but I wonder if I can play codm with it
You can as long as you are using bluetooth, forgot to include the footage but it definitely works! Not wired though, that will not work.
Does anyone know if it is compatible with RetroArch on iOs? I can use my PS4 controller and Xbox controller like normal but am looking for a handheld/compact way to play while travelling.
Yup, it is compatible with RetroArch iOS! :)
can GameSir X2S be paired to a console to use as a controller?
It cannot no. The PS Mode, I think, will connect to a PS4 and PS5 and but will also disconnect shortly after as the Playstation verifies for unlicensed products.
I want this controller for one reason only ... to play damn Hoyoverse games! Specifically Honkai Star Rail. For some reason, Hoyoverse just won't make native controller support for their mobile games. I attempted to map the USB-C version, but it is really finicky and somewhat compromises on navigating menus. Hopefully this one works so I can finally have a way to play without needing to jump through hoops.
I hope you find solution to your problem friend! Otherwise, one of the BSP controllers will do fine too as you have all the modes you could ever want!
@@GameTechTalk so it is better to get the BT instead of the Type C?
@@MarcoBayod_MB I think so personally, the X2s BT is more versatile, which for me is a great advantage but some may not care for that aspect.
What about latency?
It's not on-par with the G8+ performance, I can tell you as much. It's average bluetooth upper tier performance but nothing special. I benched 12ms latency average. But if we remove jitter out of the equation, it's an 8ms performing controller so 125hz polling rate but doesn't hit it steady like their latest controller. Also, wired on Xbox mode, it polls at 500hz 😱 that sure was a lovely unexpected surprise but I forgot to include it in the review... 😫
the bluetooth on the G8 Plus has better latency you say?
Most definitely. Nothing wrong with the X2s though as it’s pretty standard, it’s really the G8+ that is performing beyond the norm.
Works with windows 10/11 with a Xbox controller profile?
The controller does not have an Xbox controller profile, only PS and G-Touch. However, it still works fine on Windows and you can use a translation software on Windows as well to "convert" the signal into an Xbox perceived controller. Software "Handheld Companion" can do this for you.
Why my iphone 14 pro wont detect the dual shock 4 controller ??
That’s weird, it should work both wired and wireless afaik. Have you tried both to be safe?
Can you put your phone in portrait mode, i would get it if I knew i could play ds gams
You cannot, or at least not without some kind of insert to make it hold onto the phone. Otherwise, the gap is too wide for just about any phone in portrait (except Folding phones of course).
Thanks I'll see if I can add some fome padding
Works on mediatek devices? I have a redmi note 8pro
I don't have one to test myself but knowing GameSir's attention to detail, and strong ties with Chinese brands, being one themselves, I am 110% certain it would work without issue.
Maybe a dumb question, but would this connect to the Nintendo Switch?
Not a dumb question at all, this is becoming more and more of a feature. Unfortunately, it will not. From GameSir at least, the sole model to do this effectively is the G8+ but I wouldn't be surprised if future models support that feature too.
Does this have an x input mode (xbox) ?
A hidden one I believe but it's meant to be used with a dongle that is sold separately. I'm not 100% sure on this as I don't have this controller anymore to test but all the recent GameSir controllers have had that hidden mode, I believe this one does too.
Olá amigo,

Você poderia me informar a autonomia desse controle bluetooth? quanto tempo ele dura?
Olá! Obrigado por se envolver com meu conteúdo. Saiba que estou usando o Google Tradutor! :)
Infelizmente, não tenho mais este controlador comigo e nunca consegui confirmar a duração, mas me sinto confortável em dizer que 5 horas são garantidas. O total exato é um número que infelizmente não tenho.
Desculpe
Hi from México, I have a oneplus open and I want to buy a gamepad, witch one I should buy ? 😂😅
I never had this problem with any of my bluetooth controllers before
There's also a bug where the controller keeps disconnecting on firmware 1.2.
this x2s BT battery life how long?the old models x2 BT only 20 hour
I'm sorry to say that I don't have that info. I couldn't find how many mAh it has anywhere, not even on the box or manual. The unit I used for the review has been repackaged as I will soon send it for giveaway but I did test approximately 6 hrs with it to no problems but to tell you how much was left, I completely forgot to look in all honesty. Sorry for that.
@@GameTechTalk that's alright maybe same
Does it work on switch?
Unfortunately, it does not!
Does this work on Android? Does this also work on Minecraft?
Yes and yes! It's a nice pocketable solution for your gaming!
Does it have delay? (Bluetooth version)
Cheers! :)
Can you use Xbox cloud gaming on this device?
Not exactly, there is no x-input mode per say but with BetterXcloud, that problem is completely resolved. So yes you can, with the right software, BetterXcloud.
There an extension mod
Must be from RRTronics Creations? That maker has been creating all sorts of cool mods for these controllers!
does a s24 ultra fit in ?
It does yes, easily even. This can support even small form factor tablets such as Lenovo Y700s.
@@PegCityFrancis Ohhh you are mentioning the G8+ to the wrong guy, assuming you saw my review (and maybe even the mod video)? You'll know I will STRONGLY recommend the G8+ hehehe! If you have questions, don't hesitate, cheers!
