What makes Alecto so hard isn't her moveset or the damage she deals (in fact, she is very predictable). It's the fact that to balance her predictability they gave her hyper armor and an insane amount of HP.
What I like about this one is depending on if you have a shield or not is how she attacks you. If you have a shield she constantly tries to get behind you, whereas if you do not she is super aggressive and keeps coming at you in front. The AI on this one is outstanding.
Exactly it's like fighting an assassin that zips and zooms and has massive long fast combo strings and 1shot attacks but the assassin is also a tanky asfk paladin that can tank many hits from massive HP pool and has super/hyperarmor in many of it's attacks and can break through your attacks. I have no idea why they decided to do this because all the other black knives (if I remember) are almost as aggressive as Alecto but has far lesser HP and staggers from literally every hit
Dude I'm lvl 140 and am on the final boss and REFUSE to beat this game until I take him down. There's something about this boss I just cannot beat him lol
This one is more of a fight of endurance IMO because of the large health pool, the only reason I died to it a few times was from the AOE jump attack would catch my ankles before I learnt to just sprint away like you did instead of trying to roll away
I was rolling away, but had to mash roll buton when he jumps. And always maintain mid range. If you too close when the jump starts, you dead. Running seems like a better option. Maybe next time.

I saw a lot of hate and people calling this boss BS, but this is one of the best fights in the whole game to me. It's fast, dynamic, varied and with very narrow healing windows which I love. An epic fun duel and completely fair, wish there was a lot more fights like this!
this and commander niall fights are my favorite, both feel so satisfying and fun to dodge. Plus they both have cool looking move sets, with the right ash of war feels like you're in an anime fight

i'd be in the exact same camp as you if it weren't for the fact that, out of the roughly 11 attacks she can do, only two of them make her open to attack. A large amount of the fight is spent dodging moves that are not only extremely predictable, but short ranged, meaning you could feasibly beat this boss without rolling. Most people only have as much difficulty with her because of the typical beginner souls player's impatience, so instead of waiting for her combo to play out they jump in when they think they have time to get a swing in. If you're a frequent player of fromsoft games though, this fight's more a waiting game and watching an enemy do a bunch of flashy moves instead of having to do any real dodging.

if anyone is trying to do this as a high intelligence mage as i am i highly suggest stars of ruin and just be extremely patient and wait until after his jump attacks to cast and just avoid everything else. you can use after he jumps as a chance to use a flask as well. if you just learn his mechanics it is extremely easy if you are just patient and don’t try to cast in between his combo slashes
You can spam the Stamp/uppercut AOW on Alecto to cheese her, made it much easier, after every 3 times you launch her up, you break her guard and are guaranteed a critical, repeat that 4 times in a fight and you’re done
Mimic Tear is stronger if you level are high, I'm level 691 now and my Mimic Tear can solo almost every boss.. (I don't know why but bosses dealt very little damage to it even though we both have same stats)
Mimic tear is even better but just after you upgrade it to +10 so no reason to use this one. You can still make your mimic tear almost the same as the ashes of war you get after this boss all you need to have is the Black Knife +10 and some talismans wich make the weapon special attack damage better and armor if you want to make your mimic tear looking the same. But the movements is still remain yours. But it is still better than this ashes of war. Mimic Tear is broken in this game. Especially if you have a very good setup and high level. So overall if you have higher level the mimic tear becomes even more broken. It can easily destroy any boss alone you can just stay away from the fight and watch.
if u dont feel bad about cheezing, try allocating most ur flasks towards fp and spam the dragon ice incantion after her jumps/when she backs up. took me a while but i finally got it!
I fought her last night with a brand new build (it's my first playthrough, and the build was a bleed wakizashi in left hand and ice nagakiba in right hand) and it's funny just how few of her movements are dangerous 😂 It's like shes dancing just to throw us off, which she is! I just walked around her half the time while she was going nuts lmao
This video helped me beat this guy, tough fight. Nice job man, excellent no hit run. While I got hit several times and died several times I was able to beat him using this method bait out his jump roll behind him then backstab him, then overhead unsheathe with moonveil and I was able to catch him on the off beat a couple times. That was a fun and rewarding fight, he had tons of health and he’s very slick so you can’t brute force it and that’s what this fight taught me was patience. He’s a bastard but it’s a very fair fight and that’s why I like it
Fortunately you can summon Tiche for Malenia, another Black Knife and let Malenia experience her whacked move-set lol. Alecto is literally Tiche’s mother too, so it all works out.
@@queenvictoriann yeah i've seen videos comparing Tiche vs Mimic tear post nerf. apparently the mimic tear is just a big dumb dumb now, doesn't heal itself, and rarely attacks. gotta level up Tiche on my NG+3 play through, fight fire with fire with that cheap move set.
If you don't feel bad about cheesing this piece of shit, there's a rock on the left of her spawn point where she can get stuck on and can't hit you. You can use the mist sorcery (the one that gowry sells you) to slowly but surely drain her hp without moving a finger
Man if I would just stay patient I could do a lot better with fights like this, i’m not bad I got this guy to 1hp but he killed me because I got impatient. I get greedy trying to get more hits off than I should, if I just stick to a gameplan like this I could definitely learn and pull these off. I like this boss fight in particular, he’s slick but fair

I would have given up at that time to level up my char / weapon to be able to kill her in that time. No idea how you people manage to enjoy slow fights like that - but that's just me. After like 20 times of try with different approach and weapons and lot of things I still can not beat her ass.... So I will stick with my Mimic Tear Ashes till I reach lvl MAX. I promised myself that I not gonna watch any cheese videos or location videos about the game after I completed my first NG+1 at least and yeah... For me this little boss is the hardest overall. I can beat any boss after 4 or 5 times of try but this one without any summons is crazy. Yes Iam using summons because Iam too trash for this game that I cant beat any boss ass without help. I know you may come with lot of comments but come on. If it is in the game why you cant use it? I mean about S+ tier weapons and mimic tear. But this boss... You cant summon any help and because Iam noob it is for me the hardest boss to beat in the game. So Iam stuck and cant beat her... She needs to be nerfed in my opinion. Crazy HP crazy DMG and crazy speed. Iam out of ideas and iam decied to not to get the Black Knife Tiches Ashes of War. Mimic tear at +10 is way more better. Actually better then me. Bro this bossfight is ass Like low poise, fast attacks, and speed gives you the impression of a dance with the enemy type fight But if you get aggressive You will just get oneshot by his death blade attack and his practically infinite combo strings There is only a couple attacks you can safely counter, mix that with his health and the fight just becomes tedious Also his pathing forces you backwards so you have to keep directing him towards the center in a way that just feels unnatural Because if you get stuck on the terrain or a wall and he does that one attack Your dead Such a boring fight 1/10
00:24 , 00:40 , 01:01 , 1:17 , and then probably another 20 times that I can't be bothered to go and watch to point out, you should get the idea. The jump attack is the easiest one to dodge and punish. Keep your distance from the boss and it's an easy fight, just long.
@@GreatGig Bruh, you need to bait it out and punish it. That jump aoe attack is one of the easiest punishes of the fight. It's definitely hard if it catches you off guard but keep your distance, stay patient, and don't get in too close. When you see her blade go red and she does the jump attack run back and then dodge roll (or just run back if you're far enough) and you'll dodge the attack entirely and you have the most reliable window to punish her (can deal good 2-3 swings maybe) or a backstab.

I found something about this fight. Alecto is weak to Morgott's sword. When you make the ability, the charge before hit cancel her attacks.

She is a steel cannon. She does some pretty decent damage but has a nasty amount of HP.

Yes she does. When she jumps in the air and does her AoE attack that's a great time to hit her. Slow and steady wins this fight.
Also if you want a powerful build is str/int for moonlight greatsword
