Love all the McCammon and Corbett love. River of Souls is awesome, it's a really cool adventure but it's so short that I recommend reading it and Freedom of the Mask back to back, which is one of the best in the series imo.
Agree with House of Chains, just finished it up and loved it! With every consecutive book, I want to re-read the series more and more already lol. Boy’s Life is now on my list! 🤘🏽
@@bardsandbooks that Tanno Spiritwalker song hits every single time❤️ def get to Boy’s Life asap. Think everyone should read that book, but I *might* be a little bit biased😂
@@JuliaSapphire this was my third read and it’s still wonderful. As I get older I resonate more with the adult sections too. Since you like IT so much you should def check out McCammon’s Boy’s Life (and I’m not just saying that cuz it’s my favorite book😂)
Wicked video - I gotta try some of these. Oh and thanks for the reminder to get back to Corbett. I’m mood reading as usual lately. Just finished a Murakami, reading Circe now and might pick up ACOTAR if I’m feeling’ cute 😘
You definitely need to get back to Corbett. Slappers all the way through. I have my first Murakami slated for September (Kafka on the Shore) and I'm excited for it. Also ACOTAR 👁(I heard book two is where it gets spicy)
I started my McCammon journey this year and Swan Song and Boy's Life are my two favorite books I've read all year. I'll hopping into Speaks the Nightbird before the years end. Excellent reviews man.
@@blacknbluecollarreader so nice to see the McCammon train picking up steam. I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on Nightbird, think it’s gonna be another slam dunk for you
What's the craic, Kev! I really enjoyed Boy's Life, admittedly I lost interest in the murder mystery after a point but the slice of life stuff was great throughout. I need to restart Swan Song one of these days. I look forward to Mystic River. I loved Shutter Island and I trust Yolanda and Carlos' recs.
Burping from all those Monsters and/or cheap trash cocktails. I love getting something different every time I reread a book-whether it’s a year later, four years later, ten years later-so that’s usually indicative of a great book. August: Mad Ship by Robin Hobb, Dark Force Rising by Timothy Zahn (if my library hold for the audiobook ever comes through!), Soldiers Live by Glen Cook, and The Saint of Bright Doors by Vajra Chandrasekera. Maybe Blacktongue Thief if we have time. 👀
@@SheWasOnlyEvie I did have a couple monsters and a couple dranks, so you might be onto something. I forgot about Blacktongue Thief. If you find the time let me know and I’ll squeeze it in 👀
I really enjoy reading the Matthew Corbett series and I agree that I didn't enjoy book 3 as much as the first two. I need to read Boy's Life and Swan Song! I just heard another booktuber rave about Lehane, esp. Mystic River: added to the TBR The Liveship Traitors series is top-notch! Where should someone start with Greg Iles?
Hey, sorry for the late reply! Yes, Boy’s Life and Swan Song are must reads, especially if you’ve enjoyed any other McCammon works! As far Greg Iles, I would say his book The Quiet Game is a good place to start. It’s the first book featuring his “main” character Penn Cage (although he has other books with Penn Cage, too).
So glad you're back Kevin! You and Red have some of the greatest reviews out there but you guys don't post as much these days. Still, whenever you have a to read or wrap up or whatever I'm on that motherfucker.
@@RexRoss77 Thanks man, that actually means a lot. Most of the time I feel like what I have to say doesn’t add much to the conversation or no one cares really cares about, so hearing that gives me a little extra motivation to keep chuggin along💪🏻

In agreement with you on The Mad Ship. I really enjoyed that one!

Looks like I'll do that then! Super excited to continue but also kinda sad cuz I know I'll be reaching the end soon

I think both of yiz would love both Ordinary Grace and The River We Remember
The shining at the Stanley hotel and mercy of the gods in august for me. Great video
