His next season should be like an underdog story, that makes Jay more than just a comic relief and changes the way many look at him.
Lightning is the most powerful element ever: if Jay was really dumb, he would have already killed half Ninjago and all his friends. His element is lethal, he can use it everywhere, no limits of where he is. Others must be underground, under water, they've got to create something. Maybe not Kai, but in comparison, Lightning is stronger than Fire in my opinion. So, again, if Jay was as stupid as authors seem to depict, he would not be there, at this moment, as he could thunderstruck himself or maybe he would have become a villain.
Jay is not my favorite and he may be weird sometimes, but he's always great as he handles such power, with a smile and making it look simple.
Ikr they should make a season about him that’s better then skybound or prime empire
I prefer pythor to Kalmaar, because I am more intimidated by pyhtor, and he has a more dark backstory.
Plus his motive's in s1 are more understandable

Hot Take: We need to see more on the original elemental masters such as Jay's birth mother, the Original master of ice and why he gave and how he gave Zane his power ik we have seen and got some sort of a backstory about Ray and Maya but outside of them we havent seen much of the backstory of the original elemental masters we don't even know who the original master of wind is.
Yep, and see something also about Cole's grandfather, Lilly's father: we saw him as a villain, in some flashback. Gotta know more about this.

The Ninjago writers love to make the characters suffer. Lloyd having to battle his father, Zane being controlled and destroyed several times (Dead Man's Squall, Season 7, Decoded etc). Kai had to deal with having no powers (and now no sister). Jay being pulled to his limit and manipulated in season 6, 15 and to some extent season 12 and plus losing his girlfriend. Nya just t-posing and 'connecting' with the sea and Cole being seperated from cake. Yeah i'm not funny lol

Hot take: Ninjago has yet to reach its peak. Nya’s sacrifice was a big step for Ninjago and easily one of the biggest risks the show has ever taken. They are also building up stories across multiple seasons with the vengestone arc, which will likely have a huge payoff. The scale of the show is only increasing and the story potential that the newer seasons have is much greater than before.
Hot Take: Pythor is best villain because he has so much history. He worked with the Overlord, awakened the devourer, and caused Garmadon's death unintentionally. Without him awakening the devourer, Harumi's parents wouldn't have died which means most of the oni trilogy wouldnt have happened and Hands of Time might not have happened because without the vermillion, The Iron Doom wouldnt have been constructed.
Jay showed some mechanic ability in season 9
He made a great blueprint out of dung and trash, making it easy to read by Cole and Wu. If it's not great...
Jay was on cocane in the first few episode of season 9
Hot take: Both Kataru and Akita kind of have the same similarities and differences as siblings compared to Kai and Nya. The pros is that they are also fearless and that they both have special abilities. The cons, however is that both of these siblings live in different realms. Kai and nya live in Ninjago while Kataru and Akita live in the never realm and don't even know what ninjago is. Sorry that I couldn't post this in the community tabs, Tanner. I am actually on iPad.
I thought of that not that long ago too, which started my writing for an alternate story of what if Kai was captured by Boreal instead of Lloyd in Ep 123.

I want to see Baby Jay!!! Give us Jay's flashback season where we see him growing up with Ed and Edna and his mom leaving him there to protect him. I actually think Kalmaar and Pythor are much different, for one Pythor wanted to free his people while Kalmaar, well, they never went into any real reason besides "the sea folk are superior" and yeah that could be similar to what Pythor wanted but it's just a scratch on the surface to me.
Zane needs another season. He kinda got a season as the Ice emporerer, but he barely got any screen time as him. He only has season 3 and a little bit of season 11. But yeah, I think he should get a new season for maybe season 18-20
They needed to do something with him turning evil. The writers could have used all the angst of that season to help develop Zane as a character
Kia needs it more he is still a good character now but he was so good back the he was the main character of the tournament of elements

Without Jay, ninjago is incomplete. Even though I m not a Jay fan but it is clear that He is the cutest and the funniest ninja and would do anything for nya. Seeing him cry in seabound made the finale a whole lot better. He is an interesting character with a lost mother who we have no idea about. So y' all don't say anything about Jay. Seriously. Sry if I m being rude . But seriously. He is a tormented character.
Hot Take: is it just me or the ninja always aim the snakes in the forehead. garmadon hit the devour in the forehead season 1, young lloyd hit pythor in the forehead, cole did that triple tiger thingy (i forgot the name) on the snakes on the forehead, nya hit woljira in the forhead (were the amulets were) last but not least lloyd hitting the snakes in the forhead in the end of season 4 battle of the Anacondrai.
I don't know. Maybe it's the same reason why lots of classic Disney villains have to fall from high places instead to be stabbed or something else. I think authors have lots of limitations and lines they can't cross, as it is a kid show after all. High-quality, of course, or I was not here in first place, but a kid show. However, the Lego shape makes easier to find ways to handle serious matters and to show things others can't.

@@9inety6ix - That's not a classic to me. ;-) Classics to me are all the animated movies BEFORE "The Little Mermaid". And, well, as I can't tell the same for all Disney villains, I said "lots of classic villains", not ALL. I could not watch lot of the most recent movies because it's kinda hard to find them on TV in present days. There are only ugly remaked things (I loved just one remake, "The Jungle Book", miles away better than the old one).

Well we were supposed to have her in prime empire (possibly as a flashback or something). Prime empire was powered by her lighting.

I think Jay changed the most of all ninja in season 11, he used to have a deeper, more lively voice, and could get serious, but now his voice is so high pitched it is like a chipmunk and he gets scared all the time.

I think that Ninjago should make lots of canon miniseries for maybe UA-cam that focus on side characters and their stories continued because they don’t have enough time to focus on them because the show is about the ninja, like what the MCU is doing right now on Disney Plus.
Lego is actually looking for stories like that on Lego World Builder.

Yep... scars that never heal. :-) Even Cole's disappeared, and that was a special green-ghost scar as he's still 1% ghost. But what about Kai's? That could be interesting.

This "It's because they are Elemental Masters" is such a bland and lazy explanation for everything that doesn't make sense. The fact is, the writers are just sloppy and make no effort.

What does an eye patch have to do with steampunk? It has as much to do with steampunk as vampire teeth and cyberpunk.
I think people associate Pythor with Kalmaar because they both share a similar British accent and some similar personality traits. Personally I prefer Pythor, probably because of nostalgia (A petty reason ik lol).

Timeline is a real mess in Ninjago, that's definitely a thing. Personally I don't trust Kai when he says they're still teenagers in First Realm. I mean, First Realm was already Season IX. Eight previous seasons, lots of things happened, a young villain chasing them from the Great Devourer's saga on... and he tells me that he is still a teenager? So, when he was a blacksmith at home, was he a little kid? A baby? It's Ok that their Lego shape can be both comic and mysterious, as we know that they can be just as they are, they don't change too much. But how long Kai's training took? And what about all other Ninja, included Nya and Lloyd? Lloyd is in his teens now, how it comes that Kai is still a teenager when he and Lloyd met when the green one was just a kid?
In Season VII master Wu, Rei and Maya tell us about a precise couple of years. So, their first memories about Time Twins are 40 years ago. We don't know about them, but Jay's mother was already married with the already famous Cliff Gordon. So, Wu aged that much in 40 years or maybe it's a clever disguise, as he's way too long older than all the people around him? Jay's mother waited that long to have this child, and then, for some reasons, she and her husband had to abadon him? Jay is not a teenager but he's not 40, is he?
When Cole came to the Monastery for the first time, he told his father he was still at the Performing Art School. So Cole is supposed to be a teenager when he is cheating about this with his father. Or he was a kid, forced to leave common schools to attend too high level courses? Yep, some details about The Ninja's childhood are required, indeed. And before Cole tells his father the truth, he still recieves mail from him. I bet that Cole had some colleague at the Performing Art school that re-sent his mail to the right address and kept the secret. A good friend? Or someone who was paid for this? This could mean that Cole was already in his teens and maybe nearer to 20 than to 12.
Jay was an inventor, not just a comic relief. Now this role is shared with Kai. Personally I don't like this thing. This is a bad treatment for them both. Why Kai does seem to openly underestimate his blue colleague? In the mean time Kai was a blacksmith, Jay tried his glider lot of times. Was he just a kid? And when Jay and Kai met, the very first thing Jay had in mind was Nya, in spite of the fact they did not meet in person yet. So, if Kai was so young, Nya was younger... and Jay fell in love with some kindergarten girl? I don't think so. They were already teenagers, no matter what.
Different is Zane. A nindroid does not age, he becomes older and older, he can upgrade and eventually rebuild himself, but his age does not matter too much. Some calculated he's 70, after XII season. I don't know, but I could be fun, indeed.
Legacy could be great if it responded just one of those questions. It barely gave us a hint of what happened on the Iron Doom. They could do a better remake of Day of the Departed, if they want to do a good job, as DOTD is rushed in some parts... lots of parts. I still love that movie, but if authors love remakes and reimagined things, they could reimagine that, not do lame musical episodes or lame 1970s cartoon-styled Teen Titans go things.

They should have made mr. e echo Zane in season 8.
Tho I understand the season already had a lot of stufff going on but I think this would work because it allows the fans to finally discover what ever happened to echo Zane. And then it encourages new ninjago viewers to look back to later seasons. And it would force nya and jay to finally open up about the skybound season and to finally be held accountable for abandoning echo Zane.
I know one of the reasons mr.e is mr.e is because of how mysterious he is. And with mr.e talking it kind of makes it less mysterious. So maybe since echo Zane was always a robot that didn’t work very well his voice box could have broke leaving him to be voiceless.
Maybe harumi found him at the lighthouse, took him in, repaired him. And gave him a purpose to re-resurrect lord garmadon. Him being alone for so long probably caused him to hate Zane for being the favorite and blamed him for being left behind. And that could have explained why in mr.e’s death since harumi had a almost caring look of concern

The legi ninjago movies are only there for the lego movie franchise, in the future they'll crossover with lego batman and emmitt, so I highly doubt we'd be able to restart with a fresh story because it already ties into one

Well the season 7 sets had Kai and Nya with their elements flashing in their eyes. Still not from the show but Kai did have one kinda unique form.
We have seen Kai, Nya, Zane and Cole’s past, I want to see Jay. Also his past, I really hope they explain it. Also why do you think Jays parents had to give him away?
I would love if the next season would be Kai centered and that he would lose an arm and replace it with an elementary arm (magma, lava or fire arm)
Zane wasn't also that interesting in seasons 1 and 2 either. Since little was done with the plot twist that he is a robot.

I think if they gave Jay a season with a bit more focus on him and a relevant job for him to do (like in the early season when he was the mechanic), he could grow a lot more and be less "annoying". Maybe the next season or the one after will do its job...

You no I always hated Jay just as bad as Kai, but Jay's worse cause of his whining, screaming, complaining, joking around, and always saying "well nobody listens to me" or we really need to start listening to me"
He certainly did a lot of that in the older seasons, but he doesn't do so much of that in the newer seasons.
Season 6 he screamed a lot along with the original first five, but like from 8 on words he hasn't been as bad.

Hot take i fell like season four was all over the place like who the stories about at first it’s about Kai then it’s Lloyd and then it’s garmadon and I think we should have seen some more elemental battles like lloyd vs shadow or jay vs skylor something like that and don’t get me started on that ending it’s like the writers took the easy way out
What was the point in the giant snake it added nothing and there is a way that more elemental battles could have been used in the same amount of time.

Nice video and all of their opinion were very interesting!! Season 4 was the best season is because every ninja have his spotlight, their usual role and all of them used their elemental powers. Now, i feel that every season, there is an unequal spotlight. I also think that all lloyd’s season were literally the best and the most hyped. We need a lloyd season in which *all ninja* have equal spotlight like in season 4.

If I were to have any hot take, it would be that Season 11 gets too much hate. I get why a lot of people hate it, but, in my opinion, character-wise it wasn't that bad, especially the Ice Chapter. This is just my opinion, I know most people may disagree with me.

I think continuing the movie universe is a horrible idea. That universe is so bad that where it would continue could just never work.

Hot take: season 3 is not as good as people say it is ( hear me out because I know I am going to get a lot of hate for this) the pacing for this season was really bad (and yes I know the writers had a jumbled schedule for making this season) it started out rushed then slow then rushed then slow again, they kept going back to borg tower it gets attacked then they leave and then come back later, the season finale was really good but just the season as a whole just isn’t amazing in my opinion
