Totally agree about the character development hot take. It’s so annoying how we get great character development on a ninja then it disappears the season after and then has to learn what they learned last season all over again. Ahem literally all of Jays character development.
Elemental dragons exist? - Zane after discovering them in season 4 as a huge step in character development and accepting that he is the Titanium Ninja. Airjitzu? Wtf? - Cole after sacrificing himself to get the scroll which resulted in him coming to terms with becoming a ghost and ultimately making up with Yang and his students and becoming a human once more. Haha I'm evil again! - Garmadon after starting over with his family and sacrificing himself to save Ninjago. I'm usless without powers! - Kai after going through a heroic journey of realization that he does not need powers to be a hero and intrust his will in others. I'm not a girl that needs to be helped all the time! - Nya after realizing that her team also views her as an important member of the team. How am I not dead? - Wu.
Character development doesn't disappear just because it doesn't occur every season. Having the ninja retread their exact same journeys as before would be redevelopment and would not help the case. None of the ninja have lost their character development in the long run. Kai continues a brotherly relationship with Lloyd and seems to no longer hold on to his jealousy. Lloyd tends to rely on his powers less due to his development on realizing what real power is. Nya lets go of choice in Seabound, a trait that she always held on to throughout the series. From Skybound, Jay learns to "make" things happen rather than to "wish" for things to happen and that continues onto future seasons such as when he charged the battery of hydro-bounty. He continues his relationship with Nya from there as well. Finally, Zane is happy with his identity from season 4 and Cole is at peace in seasons 13+ due to him coming to terms with his mother's legacy. I don't see any case of "redevelopment" in the long run without examples.
Hot take: Iron Baron isn’t that bad of a villain. Aside from his motivations he is pretty dark as he killed tons of hunters and dragons. Still not a fantastic villain but pretty underrated.
Hot take: Many people in the community don't seem to understand what character development is. It's often confused with character focus and character backstory, which are just explorations of a character. Development is when the ninja grow and it's much harder to write than simply focusing on the given traits of a character. Developing powers, such as elemental dragons, airjitzu, or the spinjitzu burst, isn't character development either although it can be tied in with it.
@Dylan Sharp People claim that Jay enduring Nadakhan on Misfortune’s keep and discovering his birth parents is development when it’s really just focus. These things do tie into his actual development in the season, but aren’t the development itself.
@@ertooo4324 I think the development comes in the aftermath- what are the consequences of this season? How does this effect the character? What carries forward into the next season? And this is a big problem for ninjago because often there *aren't* more consequences to the characters. This is not a hot take, but the Neverealm makes absolutely no sense. Def agree with the character building hot take. As a writer and as someone who makes fan content for ninjago, it gets sooo frustrating trying to actually use the characters at this point. Sure there were some character hiccups in seasons 1-7, but after 8 it gets way less consistent. Hell, season 10 ALONE sets all the characters back (thank you Lego and trying to "restart" the series to get more viewers). Rn it seems like every other season has a different version of the ninja, jumping between mature adult to 15 year old child to inexperienced to masters. At some point it leaves the viewer confused as to who the characters truely are rather than the inconsistencies that currently thrive to better the plot.
@Skylanders Fan69 Sure! Hm let's say Jay- Seasons 1-7 most of the changes were growth. He was loud, inventive, curious, supportive, and went from kind of cowardly to brave. He moved from childish to mature. But after season 8 it switched (more severely season 10 and onward). Suddenly he wasn't the inventor anymore, his personality went back to childish (tho that depended on the season it's weird), and almost all of his character relies on loving Nya. If you look at Jay before and after season 8, it's an alarming difference that didn't happen because of growth, but instead because of new writers and redesign work.

The 16 10 minute episodes that we have been getting recently actually add up to about 8 20 minute episodes which is a whole 40 minutes less of storytelling than what we got in the wilfilm seasons
@Runax ゲーム I'm sure we'll see Garmadon eventually. There were just some problems and unanswered questions in the finale and I think the series should end on a longer and more beloved season.
I mean if they somehow redeemed Garmadon and maybe even turned him back into a human it would've been a fitting ending, but as it is now, yeah its definitely underwhelming
Hot take: Lowkey, I kinda want wilfilms to come back to animating ninjago. I'm mean, don't get me wrong, the wildbrain animation is nice, but I miss the old animation (not to mention the ninjas original design😅)
That one about Cole in season 10....that really hits a bad spot...but I've never heard of Possession, Skybound, Master of the Mountain especially considered a gimmick season. How is Cole learning about his mom and becoming stronger a gimmick?
Hot Take: Bottom point, Ninjago is not the same. It doesn't feel like the same old, good Ninjago. And I haven't been able to accept it. All the ninja changed way too much and it just feels like they totally changed the characters, all except their voices, except Lloyd. For Lloyd, its a different guy. Not the same Lloyd, in my opinion.
Toasty take: the consistent costumes throughout the new seasons is a good thing. The new suits from the sets then feel like they have a special purpose within the story that the show is trying to progress.
Hot take : That seasons 1-10 every single one has daddy issuses with Lloyd like he should/like be in the series and it is just stuck on daddy issuses like Gramadon he was like in very season and then cut him off from seasons 11-15 and he wasn't even in the flood in season 15 like this is weird. The writers of Ninjago needs to fix this. (+ he was only mentioned once in season 11)
after season 7 came out I was waiting for them to finish it becease you know the time twins time travelled again. And I came back to this series years later when season 13 was being made. I binge watches seasons 8-12 and when I was done with 12 13 came out. and I hated the design changes but I've gotten used to them now but I still think the old ones are better
Ik there's not enough time for all hot takes, but you know what can be a little frustrating? Not getting featured in a video, waiting for a month for the next, and not being featured again 😟
This isn't really a hot take, but they completely butchered Clutchs character compared to him in his movie. In the movie, he's an independent, hardworking person but in ninjago he's just lazy and annoying.
Hot Take: Ninjago is very predictable maybe because of being an og Fan but i feel like amny "shocking Reveals" aren´t that shocking like in MoM how the King actually was the evil Wizard, Kai not being the Green Ninja (who he sould have been extra Hottake) or just the suspectons like that Shadow is 100% the spy for chen oh wow he isn`t the spy or in Prime Empire i think they should stop making Ninjago so predictable Like in SoG that Season was great in beeing unpredoctable
I think clutch powers should be a recurring character and his character ark should be him becoming kinda like how he use to be, you know. A nice guy with moral who helps the ninja
Hot take: my only problem with the Ninja's redesigns are the faces. I don't like how they used the faces from the Ninjago movie they just don't really look like them to me. I would have preferred if they have kept the old faces with the new hair pieces, or make some small changes to update the old faces to a degree.
@@bryans3436 I just love how these hot take videos have become basically everyone voicing their hated opinions on Ninjago. It's turned into....... Hey come here and say what you hate about it, because no one considers anything positive a hot take.
Hot Take: Kai doesn't need his own season. I know he's the only ninja who doesn't have a solo season and I would mind if he did, but I don't think he needs one. Before WIldBrain, even if Kai wasn't the main focus, he almost always had a unique role in a season (Season 1, 4, 5, and 7). The reason all the other ninjas have solo seasons is because they would be forgettable if they didn't because their roles in other seasons aren't unique or important.
I like the dumb charater thing it gives off more jokes and it isent too serious a lot of people smile or laugh at the dumb jokes I don’t mind that I think there trying to cheer people up and for fans to have a laugh in a hard day
Hot Take:In Season 5 the Ninja had reflections of their future selfs of ninjago goes for longer we could have a season were the ninja become sensei of there elemental powers
Hot take: I think the idea of the ninja use armor suits every season is very good, but the armor suits are trash (Nya's, Lloyd's and Cole's are the worst). They can use others suits like legacy because are more good, colorfull, beautifull, amazing and unique then armor suits.
Hot Takes: honestly ninjago forgets about a lot of things like how Lloyd has the power of creation and destruction and is freakin half dragon and half oni and they never really use it they definitely used it in the seasons (hunted) (sons of garmadon) and (March of the oni) but they never really explored it any further than that HE’S HALF F***ING DRAGON AND HE CAN CREATE ANYTHING HE CAN EVEN DESTROY WHATEVER HE WANTS ITS IN HIS BLOOD and a lot of caractures that we’re important they just never use ever again like zanes dad or even some of the other villains like either im forgetting what happened or im right and they should explore this further IM PRETTY SURE ASPERA ESCAPED AND IS LOSE IN NINJAGO AND HAS ONE OF THE SCROLLS OF FORBIDDEN SPINJITSU actually I think I remember now aspera was frozen in zanes ice BUT UNLESS THEY PUT HER IN A FREEZER THAT ICE IS GONNA MELT and there’s a lot more examples

As if the characters in Ninjago were ever really smart
I think that Ninjago should try to do a hybrid season using 20 min episodes for important episodes in the story and 10 min episodes for filler.
Can never think of a hot take to submit, but the one about the ninja being dumber would be one i May have done
cold take we need more stuff like the oni trilogy
Jump up kick back whip around and spin jump up do it again ninja go ninja go
I love this song
Toasty take: the consistent costumes throughout the new seasons is a good thing. The new suits from the sets then feel like they have a special purpose within the story that the show is trying to progress.
hot take: a new ninja comes
Hot take: which season did the digital theme better rebooted or prime empire bc I say it was rebooted
this was a great video; i enjoyed the controversy and i really like arguing with people so this hot takes series is perfect to watch 😅
Hi everyone, hope you're having a nice day😊
Thanks!!
Hot Take: its kinda dumb that the ninja don't use their elemental dragons or airjitzu anymore like when Cole fell he could've use airjitzu.
Literally the matpat of ninjago
“Am very attached to vania”
Ooooh
100% agree bout the Title
Im goin for 45% on that
Yep lol
@Xene Dvalin cuz i dont really think its/they are getting dumber but some part of me says that they are 0v0
*Hot Take:* 7:46 shows the most controversial hot take 🔥
Hot take : That seasons 1-10 every single one has daddy issuses with Lloyd like he should/like be in the series and it is just stuck on daddy issuses like Gramadon he was like in very season and then cut him off from seasons 11-15 and he wasn't even in the flood in season 15 like this is weird. The writers of Ninjago needs to fix this. (+ he was only mentioned once in season 11)
shame on the 1 person who disliked this
prime empire avatarnsuits were fire
Cole + Kai’s scuba suits were included cuz they wanna make the whole team
after season 7 came out I was waiting for them to finish it becease you know the time twins time travelled again.
@Skylanders Fan69 Ah that is true, you're right. Just wished they used a different character instead maybe
Hot take: a show about lego ninjas should not make you cry
Cough cough... SEABOUND
Hot take: The person who commented that the weekend whip sucks and is cringy can fight me in an alley cause the weekend whip is my JAM
I agree with ninjago endings on season 10
And If there is going to be another got takes video I already have one hot take
Hot Take: Ninjago is very predictable maybe because of being an og Fan but i feel like amny "shocking Reveals" aren´t that shocking like in MoM how the King actually was the evil Wizard, Kai not being the Green Ninja (who he sould have been extra Hottake) or just the suspectons like that Shadow is 100% the spy for chen oh wow he isn`t the spy or in Prime Empire i think they should stop making Ninjago so predictable Like in SoG that Season was great in beeing unpredoctable
Good job people, great takes.
Nice to see everyone's opinion, even if they do differ.
Yep
@@bryans3436 I just love how these hot take videos have become basically everyone voicing their hated opinions on Ninjago.
It's turned into....... Hey come here and say what you hate about it, because no one considers anything positive a hot take.
@@timebomb42 so true
@@bryans3436 but everyone has their own opinion.
@@timebomb42 you're right
When he said the weekend whip was cheesy I died.
My poor childhood ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Hi tanner also a huge fan of this series
They could probably make their own version of Sun Wukong in Ninjago.
Ninjago used to be a simple yet entertaining story about four heroes trying to take down a dark lord. Oh how far this show has fallen.
I like the dumb charater thing it gives off more jokes and it isent too serious a lot of people smile or laugh at the dumb jokes I don’t mind that I think there trying to cheer people up and for fans to have a laugh in a hard day
Hot Take:In Season 5 the Ninja had reflections of their future selfs of ninjago goes for longer we could have a season were the ninja become sensei of there elemental powers
i'm kinduffa big thing, y'know, i showed up in a tannerfishies video
awnnn, maybe i think of something when season 16 comes, since my idea didt, come up.
Hot take: adding to the world building is fine, but seriously like half the seasons have had snakes as a part of them.
